Best experience was meeting a certain detective who was straight up with me and I was honest with him. All my time in ocean county I never liked law enforcement because of issues 20 years ago , officers handled it the wrong way , which led to false arrests . There's more but out of respect for the handful that are caring it's not worth dragging anyone through the dirt. Once again this special detective has made me a little more trusting I pray this will all end shortly . Not a serious crime , but I want justice served it brought me back to a very bad place but he gave me the confidence no lawyer just my word.

Case manager for my case was great. However once I got to the next step which was evidence collection things went bad. I have left several messages to schedule an appointment to collect my belongings and have yet to receive a call back. And when they did pick up the agent in charge was on another call and said he would call me in 2-3 hrs that was at 0845. Called at 12 and every hour till closing and all I got was voicemail.

They obviously have time to appeal a dismissal of a case against a pair of college kids for being caught smoking marijuana but they don't have the time to assist those calling in seeking basic guidance of services. Truly pathetic. How embarrassing for the rest of us that such bottom level attorneys like this even exist.

Treated horribly and disrespectful...was misdirected and talked to in the most unprofessional manner..I was literally in tears because I had just called the same number 2 evenings prior and FINALLY had a very compassionate and helpful gentleman that actually listened to me and found the information that made the most important difference in our families horrible tragedy that had occurred 2 years prior resulting in my nephews death and I was just looking to find how to thank this gentleman and I was told "that I had never called that number and I was mistaken and I had my phone with my call log right in front of me and I just really wanted to express my total and complete gratitude to this gentleman and this horrible woman said" ma'am I don't have the time to hold up a 911 line because you want to thank someone.. and I know 100% that she was not on a 911 line because when you first call it directs you to call elsewhere if it's a true emergency... and after reading all these reviews..I felt like I could express my personal experience...to be treated so horribly and without any kind of respect or compassion when we had lost my nephew was inexcusable... and very unprofessional manner to have information on your nephews death just ignored

Absolutely incompetent. Detective Zac Rheine, who is affiliated with this office, is a JOKE. They “lost” essential court documents for my young sister’s case — Rheine ignored her for months and then NEVER FILED her complaint. God forbid anyone ever have to deal with the people here.

Have left multiple messages for a detective who is out on leave. Maybe one of the ill mannered receptionists could have directed me to another detective.
When I finally asked enough questions to get to a sargent you get a machine.
Again a very unhappy receptionist says that's all she can do for me.
Does that mean there's not a single soul in to speak with? It is called the major crimes division. Update An officer did call me back today. Said he was checking into my inquiry and will get back to me.

I am convinced there is no intelligent life in this office. I called with a simple question. I was bounced around to numerous phone mails. Once the phone just rang and rang. Another time I was mysteriously connected with another caller (?!) . We were both mad and both frustrated.
Most of these civil "servants" make over 100K a year. What exactly do they all do?
Ocean county government is out of control.
