Viking Fresh Off the Hook

Love it here. Pictured is the cold lobster roll which is good but the warm is my fav. The chowder’s one of my island favs.

THE BEST ! I highly recommend Fresh Off The Hook. It was Delicious 😋 I had the Zuppa Di pesce, it was hot, fresh and memorable. It came with the following: small Lobster tail, clams, mussels, scallops that were very white, shrimp, pasta, extra chopped up clams on top of pasta and a sprinkle of Parmigiano and a piece of bread. $34.95 and worth every penny. Oh yeah, BYO, Beer or Wine, as they don't have.

Simple, fresh seafood focused menu that is always on point. The order takers and delivery station employees are always so friendly. It’s not inexpensive but you get what you pay for and this is LBI. This is our go-to on the north end for great food and service in a very casual setting! You can’t beat being at Viking Village and a short walk from Old Barney. We come back many times each summer.

The food here is great! It’s always fresh and delicious.

I strongly recommend the scallop bisque. It makes you wonder why you don’t see it on more menus.

Also, items like the lobster poutine and flounder francese round out a great menu.

Off the Hook just catered my wedding and while I hate doing the online review stuff just have to take a moment and affirm that Kris and her team is top notch in all aspects. They are attentive, caring, diligent and wonderful in every way. They went above and beyond the call of duty at every step to ensure the event was amazing from setup, service to stepping up to clean things that were not their responsibility. I am forever grateful to have had them part of my day. Oh and PS, the food was amazing from sliced tuna, sushi, raw bar, scallops, steak.. you name it!

The shrimp tacos are a 5 star meal!! I wouldn’t change a single thing. Love the side of chips as well. I’ve gotten this meal many times throughout the years and it never disappoints.

Best seafood, exceptional service, friendly staff and wonderful ambience!! Most flavorful lobster bisque on the planet!!! Highly recommend!!!!!

I love going to Off The Hook during the Summer time! There is good food, fun music, and the owner Ms. Karen is very kind and understanding.

I recommend this place for tourists and locals! It’s kid friendly and dog friendly too. Also a nice place to see the sunset.

Had two great dinners over the last week here. We were 4 adults renting a house a few blocks away-- loved walking over to Fresh Off the Hook and bringing home delicious seafood dinners without having to worry about reservations, wait times, or cooking ourselves. We can recommend the broiled crab cakes, broiled scallops, mussels in garlic, and shrimp. There was a bit of a mix-up in our order on one visit. Staff and manager (owner?) were apologetic, and appreciative that we didn't mind waiting. Things happen, right? We were delighted to find two yummy desserts in our bags. Thanks Fresh off the hook!

Amazingly fresh seafood always cooked or seared to perfection. Portions are generous for the price and I've never walked away still hungry. The grilled tuna appetizer is amazing, and this was the perfect place to try a poke bowl for the first time! One of the best restaurants on the island, always worth the wait even on busy nights.

I was hosting a family gathering this past weekend and I reached out to Karen because I loved the platters that we had for my brother's birthday earlier in the summer. Off the Hook did not disappoint! Karen could not have been more pleasant to work with, and the Seafood Trio platter and the deconstructed Lobster rolls were fresh and well seasoned and delicious! And Karen was right when she said the chicken fingers would be enjoyed by the adults as much as the children!

Had lunch here last weekend while at the craft show, wish I would have come sooner! We have a place in loveladies but this was my first time eating at viking. Got the clam strip lunch platter and easily could have been a dinner portion. Clams were super tender and they came with a huge portion of crispy fries and coleslaw. Rounded out my meal with a Lemonade and cup of clam chowder, which was also top notch. Affordable food with a very friendly staff, definitely my new lunch spot 👌

The best, most authentic seafood place on the whole Island. Prices are relatively reasonable, servings are generous. Outdoor seating ONLY. Lots of people get takeaway. It's fantastic!

We had clam strips and a burger. The clam strips were great, no rubbery taste like you can find elsewhere. Even the burger was tasty. Will eat here again!

Tried this place out for date night and was not disappointed. The food was amazong and the portions were decent for the price. I absolutely hate coleslaw and I wanted more of it from here. Definitely a place to try and would eat here again.

We had the box of assorted fried seafood. A piece of flounder, 2 scallops, 3 shrimp,fries and coleslaw. It was really fresh! And they allow dogs outside. Thank you so much for being dog friendly!!!!!!! Will return.

The best, freshest scallops anywhere. Right off the boats. Prepared well, in vodka sauce and comes with a salad, yum! Sad that they are closing for the season, but can't wait for next spring!

My friends and I stopped in for lunch yesterday--amazing. I thought this would be a pricey, pretentious seafood place and I was completely wrong. The manager *loves* fresh seafood and it shows. I had grilled tuna, scallop bisque, fries and coleslaw for $11.50. The tuna was fresh off the boat--in fact he said it would be shipped to the Fulton fish market that night--meaning we got it 12 hours earlier than "fresh."

Loved the fish and chip, even my vegan daughter's loved the seaweed salad!

Hard to believe it, but OFF THE HOOK IMPROVED!!
Crabcake sandwich is simply yummy.
Still the most delicious lunch on this side of the Island.
Larger portions! Same location, same great fries and GREAT COLESLAW..
