Givnish Funeral Home in Marlton could not have been better. We give them a 5 Star review. From our introduction to the completion of our Funeral for my husband, Bill Quigley.
As much as funerals are sad for many, the staff made all aspects a pleasure.
We had over 350 attendees in 2 days, and the staff was attentive to everyone.
Thank you Daisy, Josh and your entire staff.

After the loss of my father, I remember sitting in his hospital room with my mother looking at her and saying, "What do we do?". The questions pour into your head and there are no answers to be found. My father's nurse directed us to call a funeral home. We chose Givnish due to the proximity of the location to us. Looking back, I would now choose them again for location and for every other reason imaginable.
From the first phone call in which Maureen comforted us, helped us to arrange a meeting with them the next day , and assured us that my father would be taken care of and brought to the funeral home, we felt as though we had made the right choice.
The next day at the meeting, that feeling was made stronger when Michael helped us plan the arrangements. He made helpful suggestions and showed his expertise while still making us feel as though he cared. He even recommended a reverend for the service. As we wrapped up the meeting, Michael gave us an extremely helpful checklist of things to do. As we left he provided his personal phone number and told us to text or call him with anything we needed.
As we grieved over the next few days before the service, we contacted Michael many times with the eulogy, our photos, and other questions. Michael always responded within minutes.
On the day of the service, Maureen was extremely comforting to us as she gave us time to grieve before and after others came to pay their respects. The funeral home itself is comforting in its decoration which is new and modern. There is even a café in which the smell of freshly baked cookies wafted into the halls. So many of our family and friends commented on the beauty of the funeral home, enjoying the café, and we were all unanimous in our love of the photo show they had put together of my father to the music we had selected.
The reverend Michael had recommended gave such a personalized and heartfelt tribute to my father. We will never forget his words.
After the services, Givnish was still helpful as they packaged cards, flowers, and memories left by our friends and family and provided us with thank you cards.
During a time that is plagued with questions and hardships, Givnish Funeral home takes the thinking out of the equation so that you can grieve. We cannot thank them enough for helping us through this. We are forever grateful

The team at Givnish in Marlton was compassionate, professional, and attentive. They took the stress out of funeral planning. They followed through on everything they said they would and provided guidance throughout the process that was in our family’s best interest. I would use them again and recommend their services.

The folks at Givnish are some of the most professional and compassionate people I have ever interacted with. I can't speak highly enough of the great work they do at a time where people can be at their lowest after the loss of a loved on. Over the past 2 years both my parents have passed and Givnish did just an amazing job helping us show all of our loved ones the great parents they were.

No words can express my heartache for my mother in law. I am thankful for Michael honoring my mother in law and our family at the service. My mother in laws' pasting was unexpected and traumatic on many levels. Michael provided a healing environment and so much loving personal care for our our needs, questions, and concerns. Further, he covered all of the bases and kept to all of his promises. We are eternally grateful for providing the over and above selfless accommodations for all of us. I also want to note, that on September 30, 2020, my father's funeral also took place here. Again Michael did a phenomenal job as to why we returned here for my mother in law's funeral. May God richly bless you for all the love you personally showered on us.

I also want to note, I saw the review down below while positing my review. That I am appalled with the comment below about my father's funeral. As the son of the deceased I thought the service was professionally done. My mother and I were very happy with the service. This is totally incorrect and untrue. Again I would not have utilized your services if what is below was true.

Thank you!
Rob

Givnish created such an extraordinary space for families to come together in memory of a loved one.

My mother and I (but mostly my mother) coordinated a ceremony for my grandfather, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful.

We worked with Maureen and she was incredibly professional, reliable, and all around an amazing woman; she made us feel at home. Most importantly, she helped make a really challenging time very simple and hopeful for us.

The fact that they have a kitchen area to bake cookies and gather around other food made the atmosphere of Givnish feel close and comfortable (compared to a “typical” nursing home that might feel cold, sad, and sometimes creepy). The small touch of having the smell of baked cookies in the facility (a happy thing, during a somber time), actually made a world of a difference to us. We felt at home.

Thank you Maureen and Givnish for being world-class at what you do. I couldn’t recommend Givnish enough, and my family feels the same. Five stars!

When my mom passed unexpectedly on the evening of Friday, February 4, 2022, after a heart valve replacement procedure, I was stunned. To make matters worse, I had no idea what the next (first) step was to get possession of her body from the hospital for her burial. I called three people and asked each of then what that first step was, and each told me the same thing – you need to pick a funeral home.

After doing some research and reading some reviews, I selected Givnish Funeral Home in Marlton (NJ). I called them on a Saturday morning, spoke to their answering service, and got a call back in less than 10 minutes. I gave them the relevant details of my mom’s passing and made an appointment to come in at 10AM on Monday morning.

When I arrived on Monday, the funeral director, Maureen Whirledge, introduced herself, sat down with me, and walked me through the entire process step-by-step. To my surprise and relief, the process had started with my phone call on Saturday morning. Maureen and her team worked with the hospital to take possession of my mom’s body after the hospital coroner released it. They already had her when I arrived on Monday morning.

As part of the process, Maureen patiently took me through the selection of the casket, the requirements for the outfit in which my mom would be dressed, the wording for the back of the prayer card, the template for writing the obituary, and the completion of my mom’s death certificate.

Through the weeklong process culminating with my mom’s burial on Friday, February 11th, Maureen, Josh (who manages the Marlton home), and their team answered every question, made the changes that we requested along the way including accommodating the addition of late photos to the video tribute, and saw to every detail – nothing was missed!!

When I arrived on Friday, my mom looked wonderfully happy and the video tribute that Maureen’s team put together was playing on multiple flat screen TVs and it was fantastic!!

My sister and I could not have been more pleased with the funeral service that my mom received from the Givnish Funeral Home. What started out as a terribly panicked phone call on Saturday morning resulted in an absolutely wonderful remembrance and send off for my mom.

Maureen and team – you have our sincerest thanks and appreciation for your professionalism, patience, and the job you did on our behalf. THANK YOU!!

For starters, the clarity of information on their website was extremely helpful. It described the type of service that I was looking for and even had price information.
When we met with Michael to plan the service, prepare the obituary and take care of all of the details, he was more than kind, helpful and supportive.
Every detail was handled with care and throughout the experience I felt that my departed husband and our entire family were in very good hands.

Thank you, Michael.

I can,t say enough about these brothers Michael n Tom Givnish. My husband William passed on May 14,2018. I went to them with not knowing all that a funeral cost or what to do. Michael walked us through everything. Set up accounts that we needed to do. Michael n my granddaughter Karena worked together to get my husband buried. Michael kept in contact with my granddaughter n set up everything. I give these 2men my heart n soul for being there. My husbands angel knew we needed more help n understanding during this time. The funeral home is gorgeous the service was outstanding. I was having problems where to bury my husband a veteran. He called townships close to home but didn’t live in the township so Michael found the No Veterans Cemetary in Wrightstown where he could be buried. The Cemetary is gorgeous.May be a long ride but its worth it. We were blessed to have met these two fabulous, caring, loving men. The best funeral home ever. I made 2friendships for life. I thank you Michael n Tom for your support. Mary Oliveri and family
