Shanghai Express Chinese Food

I have been using the place for takeout Chinese quite often. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is exceptional, and I can't give them any bad marks. The indoor dining is just as good. I took my parents here and they loved every bit of it. I can't say enough, just go try them for yourself. Thank you again for a lovely dinner.

I recently ordered an order of Lake Tung-Ting Shrimp. It was heavenly. The large shrimp were plentiful, fresh and tender, the vegetables were crisp and delicious, and the sauce was light and very tasty!
I certainly will be ordering this dish again!

Home town favorite. Been going here many many years! Best customer service from Ted and his wife. So stop by and say hello. Best general tsos in South Jersey! Now that I live in DC with horrible Chinese eateries and a fake Chinatown. I miss Shanghai express even more.

This is one of the best Chinese food places ever. The owner Ted and his Wife are extremely pleasant to deal with, we've been to the restaurant so many times that Ted addresses each one of my family members and wife by first name. The food is unbelievable, I would highly highly recommend this place. It's the best

Super friendly person took my order over phone... Very welcoming place... They made my food as per my request... No complaints... Generous portion and quality food. Wish there were more restaurants and kind people like this.

Update 10/1/21:-
Last time i order kung pao chicken which was super good and the chicken was tender like marshmallow. This time Ted suggested hunan chicken and made it perfect to my expectation.... i have never had Chinese food this good in this neighborhood.... and i have tried every popular place in mt laurel/cherry hill/marlton/ramblewood/voorhes area. This place is my oasis!

Update 10/4/21:-
Got "Moo Goo Gai Pan" based on Ted's recommendation. It was awesome. It is definitely on the lighter side when compared to Kung Pao & Hunan Chicken.... but this is the dish to choose if you want to take something on the lighter side.

The best general tso chicken I’ve ever had. And I cannot emphasize how nice the owner was upon picking up my food. A rare, genuinely nice person. Will absolutely be back!

Excellent as usual. This places has been around a very long time. The husband and wife team makes this place a pleasure to visit and help their business. They make an effort to welcome everyone. People actually miss this place when they move away.

I have been coming here for over 30 years. They have the best Hot and sour soup, anywhere. Excellent food anything you chose. Very reasonable prices and lunch specials. Great Family service eat in or take out.

All Chinese restaurants should strive to be like this one. Easy way to order, great customer service, friendly, and great tasting food. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean as well. This is my second time ordering from Shanghai express and it’s always been a great experience. I will definitely be back to order more take out and alway to dine in as well.

Order was ready exactly when they said it would be. Friendliest service I have perhaps ever received at any restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious, the whole family agrees including my wife who is a bit finicky. Portion sizes were generous to say the least. They truly earned every one of the 5 stars. Really really impressed! HIGHLY recommend!!!

Absolutely the Best Chinese food in the area ! Teddy & Kristen Are like family to me , I have went to this Restaurant for 20 years or more. The food is always the best! The Chicken and Broccoli is absolutely the best ever, the rice is so fluffy and good, the brown rice is my favorite it is so delicious. I have never ever had a bad meal here. we eat here at least once a week if not more . now I live farther away i drive from Pennsauken just for there food and delightful service it's just that good. specially when you find a restaurant that you love you will make the trip! Even when I lived in Utah and I made the trip home once a year this is the first place I would go to when I came home! I have had Friend's come from Utah for a visit , This is the first place I took them cause I knew they would love it and it sure did not disappoint them at all they had me go back so they could order take out food to have on the plane ride back to utah, it was not just adults she had her five kids with her and that's what they wanted for the plane ride home also! Yes people this Beautiful restaurant goes above and beyond to make this a happy belly full experience! And they do remember your name! Even when I call for take out Teddy the Owner always picks up the phone knows my voice and what I always order it's always ready when I get there! Just come to this Restaurant it will never Disappoint you I Guarantee!

Hands down, the best ever Singapore noodles I have ever had!!!! Not dry, full flavor. Whatever spices they put in this dish are ridiculously phenomenal! And i lived in the Philippines for 2 years where they call this dish Pancit. Way better than what i had there. Just try them, you will be blown away! And then I had their fried pork wontons, they were amazing! Great service, the gentleman that took my phone order was just so sweet and the food was delivered so quickly that it was still steaming hot. Please give this restaurant a try. I don't think you will regret it at all. Now it's my "go to" Chinese restaurant!
