Small town favorite. The place as a teen that you'd go to before game and dances. A place as an adult you go to for some really good comfort food. I've been eating here for right at 50 years!!!

Ewalds bbq is the best place in perry county to eat a quick tasteful satisfying meal....they open fairly early in the morning and serve only the best grade of food that money can buy,not only is Ewalds great they are a faimly owned place that's been around for a long-time....they have soft serve ice cream,picnic style hamburgers,and you can also order your plain burger with bbq,try it it's great!also they have a quater coin game machine,and a grab claw machine as well...yoy can't go wrong with E-walds bbq,I personally guarantee it!

I've reunited with this place. I no longer live in Perryville but wanted to take the kids in for a shake. Really enjoyed that. Went back for chili. Really liked that. Try a strawberry chocolate malt. It's my specialty. I'm highly recommending to all my airbnb guests. Hopefully they will have the quarter pusher game working. It's a blast. Good food. Good music. Good service.

Been going there since I was a child. If you want a quick bite to eat, this is the place. Ewalds is part of what makes Perryville the town it is.

Full disclosure, I am friends with the owners but my review is still objective. I first ate here a few months back and really appreciate the small town vibe. The food is good and the prices are unbeatable. Today my family took a road trip from Indianapolis to eat here and visit the owners. We ordered a little bit of everything and our favorite is the cheeseburgers. They are fresh, simple but amazingly good, especially if you like cheeseburgers of yesteryear when they were simple and delicious. The chocolate malt was great too.
The family is 3rd generation of owners dating back to 1946, the history is worth the visit alone. Very kind, warm family. Stop by and they will treat you with the Midwest hospitality that the region is famous for. We will be back again and again, even from 300 miles away.

Walked in and had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately the place was packed and people waiting to sit down so we had to go find somewhere else to eat. We will be going back though.

Great little spot that's off the beaten path, have eaten here many, many times always great food!

Great old fashioned style bbq. Servings are on the smaller side like places used to serve but very good and very reasonable prices so if you need more you can afford it. Service was quick and efficient place was very clean

My double cheeseburger tasted just like when Jinny made them!! Wonderful experience once again can't wait to revisit. Jinny and Ewald would be so proud that the legacy still lives on!! Terry and his family are doing a wonderful job with the business. The restaurant keeps up with modern times such as; the rewards program. Great ideal!!

Love this place brings back so many memories, I was going to Ewalds in the 60s when they still had the outside service. Used to pay 50 cents to clean out the baskets. The food and service is great actually better now than I remember of course for a 10 year old how much do you know about good food. Keep it up great place.

Long time favourite of mine. The true authority on Burgers and classical American food in the whole south-east of Missouri. From the moment you step into Ewald's until the last bite of your burger you can just feel the care and love this place is running on. A true family run business for generations! For me the hearth and soul of Perryville!
My advice: If you are in the area, stop there and order yourself some burgers! It won't get much better than that!

Remember the "cola burn" when you were a kid? You take a drink of Coke and your eyes would water because it burned as it went down. Well, this is the only place in recent times that I've been able to find a place that has the perfect mix of syrup, water, and CO2. The burn that makes it enjoyable. :)

Great small town dinner feeling. Good food to top it off.
