Love coming here…grabbing some mussels and Ruby Reds…Back Bay 1858 Pale Ale is delicious!!! Love the view of the boats, and casinos across the bay. Sun comes down over the casinos makes for great photos! Outdoor seating and Dog Friendly!

Back Bay Ale House definitely is one of our favorite restaurants in Atlantic City. It just speaks summer vacation and delicious food and drinks. We usually start with their juju shrimp, mussels and margaritas for appetizers. The Maryland crab over steak, the Delmonico steak, the Guiness burger and the Cali Cobb are all highly recommened. Whenever we do a day at the beach, we look forward to dinner at the Back Bay Ale House. The place just reminds me of the shore. We sat on the porch and the service, drinks and food were delicious! My margarita was perfect...not too sweet and not too sour. The cream of crab soup is so good. The mussels, were the best...tender and no sand. I had the Cali cobb salad and it was fresh and presented beautifully. The Guinness burger, by far, is one of the juiciest, flavorful burgers around. I need to take more trips to the shore, so we can visit the Back Bay Ale House again.

9/11/23. Yep, we were able to make our yearly trip to Back Bay. We sat on the porch and the appetizers of shrimp, fried string beans and mussels were so very good. My margarita was perfect and Back Bay makes them just right. My son had the steak Delmonico with crabmeat, I had the crab cake sandwich and my daughter had a salad with grilled chicken but everyone’s favorite was the fish and chips. Looking forward to our return trip for some more awesome food.

Back Bay is a good dive if you want great food in a friendly, inviting but interesting atmosphere. We tried the crab bisque and poutine, both delivered. Definitely worth stopping by n

Lovely little treasure. A little difficult to navigate getting there but well worth it! The food was decently priced and so delicious! Drinks were fun and simple but very tasty too. Next time we are in AC, we'll definitely be adding a stop here to try out some of the items we were eyeing up.

Nice and cozy low end place with great food, good beer, and service I enjoy more than service in many high end places.

It is definitely on my come back list.

Cookie went above and beyond at the back bay. We definitely recommend requesting her if you stop by! Our hostesses were also very nice. They asked if we wanted to sit on the top deck or down below. Immediately after reading reviews, I knew to request for the top deck. From the 32 oz drink in a mason jar to the burgers to many other things we were very pleased with our experience! We definitely recommend the back bay and we will be back!

Highly recommend. Staff was friendly, food was awesome, and they even served a great margarita! Being from Texas, I am usually disappointed when I order a margarita, but this one was spot on! You can definitely taste the tequila! We will be back!

My wife, her cousin and boyfriend, and myself were looking for good food before the Chicage concert and we found this place. The food, the restraint, and the staff were absolutely awesome. I had the jerk shrimp and the crab covered steak, everyone else had the crab fettuccine Alfredo. Everything was fresh and delicious. A hidden gem with a great veiw. If you have not tried this place, next time you are in Atlantic City swing by and enjoy a great meal with great people.

It was a gorgeous day. Brisk in the shade, warm in the sun. It's just a tiny place. But that's what makes it a haven for locals. My first time there with friends. The menu is pretty extensive. I had the shrimp Po boy, my son a shrimp and lobster roll, or friends had a sampler and a fried shrimp basket --i think. My only gripe was, use better rolls. Something soft, like Aversa's or Liscio. The reason I suggest this is, when one takes a bite the contents don't fall out of the sandwich. As far as I could tell, the others had no complaints, other than there was to much crab in her cake. Her words. Not mine. It was one of those sarcastic comments because people expect more bread than crab. The waitress was on point with everyone one in her section and looked good in her skin-tight black thermals while doing it!

Visited on a recent Thursday night before a comedian's set at Caesars. So glad we picked this place!

Wow for starters neither of us had been to this part of Atlantic City. On a November evening it is like deserted near where the bar is which was cool with me! It's an old house, former fisherman's home built sometime in the late 1800s. And you can tell when you go upstairs to use the bathrooms and the floor is slightly leaning or settled. It's cool with me I've lived in an old house before and appreciate it.

Seating in first floor is minimal maybe 10 bar seats and 2 high top tables. There is a Roku TV so they can stream what ever they wish . Upstairs there are many more tables both inside and outside on their deck.

Food is amazing, honestly it passed my expectations. 4 to 5 stars for the stuff we ordered. Cream of crab soup (yum!), jerk chicken wings (yum!), shrimp in garlic wine sauce (very good), seafood sampler (ok), and the zucchini/squash side (delicious!).

Awesome service, 5 stars. Was so authentic. Very much a locals place but they made us feel at home and welcome. We were beer drinkers and my bf had the Down East Cider and loved it and I had Boats and Ho's! Best time I've ever had at a bar in Atlantic City, ever!! Cheers!

Best food I had on my trip to Atlantic City! I had the mussels in white sauce and they were out of this world. My husband had seafood Alfredo and the seafood was well cooked and fresh. Great beer selection. Staff was very helpful in helping me make a selection. Staff great overall. Very laid back, local bar feel. Would recommend and definitely return next time I'm there!

I was referred to this place and I am glad I went. It was my birthday weekend and i wanted some where to go that was outdoors and had a great vibe. The food was awesome. The music was mellow and perfect for the weather that was gorgeous. Jack was a great bartender. If you are looking for a great outdoors place to eat, then this is the place to be in Atlantic City!

Our 2nd visit this year while here in Atlantic City. This is simple old School Jersey style seafood. The outdoor spaces are fun and feels like vacation. The Mason Jar Cocktails are creative and a great value.

This place was perfect! It was a beautiful day and Mom and I sat on the front porch and had a delicious meal. We both got the seafood platter with fried cod, shrimp, crab cake and a side. I got rice, Mom got fries. Rice was a lil hard, fries were on point! I also got the bob marley drink which was fantastic!! Im definitely feeling it! 🍹

Great people, very friendly, great food too. This place is small and rustic, which I loved about it, but the stairs leading to dining area are long and narrow, I didn't care for that too much. I plan on going back in warmer weather so I can dine outside.

Food was great. Service was fast and accurate. I had the shrimp tacos and my son had the jerk chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. Will be going back very soon!

Food was amazing. Juju Shrimp, Fish Tacos, Mussels (great sauce) and Crispy Shrimp Tacos were delicious. You get a lot of food for your money here. They did a great job with COVID safety protocols and seating organization. The drinks were delicious. We had the Sex on the Bay, Golden Margarita, Bloody Mary, Blueberry Lemonade. Yummy. Thank you for making this weird time feel normal.
