Burtons Bait and Tackle

I would highly recommend making the drive to Burtons bait and tackle to buy any fishing gear or archery equipment. I was in the market for a new bow and the owner put me in a awesome bow and an amazing setup. I'm pretty tough on my equipment and when I broke something, Josh went above and beyond to make sure I was up and running for an upcoming hunt.

Burtons is the only place I'll buy archery gear from.

This is a cool place to check out. Prices aren’t bad and the guy working is helpful as to what is biting and lake info. Also they have archery gear too.

Such a great place for all things fishing! Really excited about them being closer to the lake now too in Paradise. Camping trips are going to be a blast having them just minutes away to get some worms!

GREAT little shop. Owner really nice and knowledgeable about bass fishing on Smithville Lake. Great colors selection of Zoom baits. Homemade spinnerbait and buzz baits with a trailer hook!!

Place had everything we needed-and plenty of it.
Even hospitable enough to extend me (an out-of-towner) a free cooler that I put to good use. Hats off to them!

Its was great. Super nice guy running the place. Super knowledgeable of fishing and the local lake.

Great shop. Fantastic selection for a small store. Went crappie fishing with the owner on a guided trip. Had a tough time on the lake but conditions were not favorable. We still caught some fish and had a good time. I stop here every time I fish at Smithville now and pick up something I don't really need but probably should get. Would buy all my gear there if the store wasn't an hour from my house. Glad the shop is there and I will continue to support small, local businesses run by good people.

Stopped in today to check out the bait shop, it was super busy and we enjoyed visiting with Josh and his son Hunter. Really love those guys! They are a great fit as the new owners and will be a real asset to the fishing community around Smithville.

What a great small family owned business. If you need anything fishing Josh is your guy. He even has archery and hunting supplies.

New owners are helpful and great to talk with. They have good minnows (the ones that will last all day without dying) and wide assortment of baits and tackle.

I've been doing business with Burtons for over 10 years & consider it one of my go-to bait shops for most of my fishing needs. If you got a question they are always willing to give a honest answer.

Locally owned and operated the staff always have fishing reports. Though the store has limited tackle choices the options available are proven to catch fish. Live bait also available while supplies last.

Class Act Business!! We pulled up as the owner was leaving. Without a 2nd thought, he opened the store back up to let us buy a few things. Customer service like that will forever have our business! Great staff. Very helpful and a very respectable guy which is nice to do business. Not a big place but he has a good selection also his live bait is alive which was more then i could say for the other bait and tackle place
