Wooden Post Man

Our friends started KOOLMAN back in the 90s. In fact my sons gave him his name. I’m so glad someone have continued the tradition. For almost 30 yrs we’ve been traveling this road and we always get a smile on our face when we go by.

I've literally grown up with the wooden post man. He has stood stoic and proud for as long as I can remember, ever since my family first bought property off Baydy Peak Rd in the early 90's. Even after a decades long absence from the lake, I was surprised to find that my wooden companion was still alive and well. Thank you to who ever continues to maintain him. So much of my childhood memories of the lake were destroyed by the highway project. Gone is the pumpkin colored swim shop, the Mouse Trap, and Hillbilly Land but the Wooden Post Man is still holding on strong... and I am so very thankful for that.

Unmissable. Such a courageous fella. He risks his life on that curve every day just to try to make you smile.

It’s nice to see celebrities, like this guy, so down to earth. He let us take all the pictures we wanted without complaint. So polite.

It was worth the 10 minute drive. We were trying to kill some time while we waited for our dinner reservations. Would've rather seen him in Cardinal gear. 🙂

We've been watching this unique piece of folk art for years. Some unknown person keeps the wooden man up to date in the latest seasonal outfit. We like to speculate what he will be wearing each visit. Thank you to that enthusiastic individual for providing us with the entertainment!

Drive 35 minutes to see the wooden post man and there was a spider. Very disappointed. Might cry
