Hotel Topeka At City Center

I had an exceptional stay at this hotel, reminiscent of the ambiance one might find at an embassy suite. Ample parking was available, and the hotel was pleasantly uncrowded during my visit in June 2024. The room was impeccably clean, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment.

The architectural design of the building is quite distinctive, featuring a central atrium with rooms encircling it, creating a cylindrical layout. This unique structure adds to the overall charm of the hotel.

Service was commendable, with attentive and courteous staff. The buffet breakfast, priced at $13, was a delightful start to the day, offering a variety of options including coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, orange juice, cereals, milk, sausage, and more.

Despite encountering some negative reviews prior to my stay, my personal experience was overwhelmingly positive. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Large room with king size bed! Breakfast was available each morning and Bil Beggs and restaurant staff were very friendly and constantly refilling the buffet and keeping the tables clean and available. Hotel is pet friendly and has a great area to walk your pets.

I was terrified because of some of the reviews that I'd read, but my reservation was non-refundable. So, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel from the moment I walked in. It is a beautiful hotel with a great atmosphere and a grand entrance. Our room was clean, spacious, and even on a weekend night in a room near the bar, it was quiet. The decor is a bit dated, but not horribly. The bathroom was large, and everything worked as it should. I paid less than $85 a night for a king-size bed, which was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. The staff that helped us check in were friendly and courteous. I really enjoyed my stay.

This will be my new “go to” when in Topeka. The staff were friendly and the check in and reservation process was worry and stress free. The rooms are a bit outdated but for the price and service, it is perfect! It was clean and vermin free. It is located in a great area with everything at less than 5 minutes.

The only one thing that happened is that one day we were napping and one of the staff thought the room was unoccupied and came into the room. He didn’t get too far before I screamed. He apologized and quickly went on his way. I should’ve latched the door or he should’ve knocked first - live and learn.

Nice people and accommodations. Probably shouldn't have a tip request on the breakfast buffet ticket when the customer does all the work and there isn't really a wait staff.

You get what you pay for! We paid 50$ for a king bed , it was surprisingly clean , bed was comfortable, the place looks really cool. The handsome young man at the front desk was incredibly friendly and shared a ton of info about the hotel was interesting! A little disappointed that breakfast is $12 ( it’s buffet style tho) haven’t decided if we’re gonna do that or look for something cheaper. Would recommend!!!! Would stay again!!!

The hotel was very clean.It had activities, swimming exercise quiet pleasant comfortable for this day.Add movies to Enjoy loved my stay

Every time we have our VFW state meeting here, the staff takes great care of us.

Here for a dog show at the event center next door. 107 degrees so we stayed 4 nights. After having some bad owners the hotel is making many positive changes and services and it was evident during my stay. The rooms were clean again, lots of friendly staff, plenty of amenities for travelers with show dogs and the bar was back in full swing with friendly staff. They even fixed the elevators! Hoping for more years of good times staying hear.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a horse show being held at the Expo. It was a busy weekend since there were lots of sports teams staying on the property. I saw baseball players, wrestlers and equestrians. Kara checked us in during a really busy time and she was awesome. I sure appreciated her lovely demeanor. We had to get up and be out the door on Saturday before the breakfast was served. A very kind security guard named Brad let me into the employee break room so I could fill up my coffee cup. It was so nice to deal with employees who went above and beyond. Thanks so much!

Great experience and clean facility. The pool was heated and super clean. The work out room is basic but at the same time very versatile. Our son power lifts and he was able to get a solid workout in with the equipment.

We had an issue with the keys self resetting locking out of our room but we found out that if you hood them next to your phone, it will clear them because of the nfc feature of your phone.

All in all, great experience and would recommend.

Had the best experience! The atrium is so great. The room was spotless. We arrived @ the same time as a track team. We had driven 600 miles & were trying to get on the Zoom for a mtg. The courteous & compassionate staff got us checked in w/time to spare!
Breakfast was lovely w/fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, meat & pancakes. The coffee was hot & strong.

The service was great, only 4 stars because of the wait. There was only one person checking people in/being a cashier. Had to wait a really long time just to buy a few snacks. Other than that the hotelnwas beautiful, very spacious, and clean, smelt wonderful in the rooms!

Staff was very nice, clean rooms, comfortable, amazing breakfast buffet, quite and can get a very good sleep. Will definitely go back!

Beautiful facilities. Appears well maintained. Room was clean. Felt safe even though it didn’t appear to be in the best of neighborhoods.

Ply one complaint was there was no information on how to order room service. Other hotels I’ve been in have offered room service quick menus and this was not provided. I believe their website says room service available. This is just me being lazy and not calling for a menu or more info, but alas it’s why I didn’t take away any stars. Just more of a suggestion.

Excellent accomodations, clean room & attentive friendly, awesome staff. I needed a place to host my son's graduation party and their Governors suite was a perfect fit. It was spacious & included all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay & party hosting! I highly recommend and will stay again. I couldn't be more pleased & thank you Hotel Topeka for helping me celebrate such an important special occasion!

Older large Hotel. Rooms are not newly updated.
My room was very clean. No signs of any bugs.
Stayed on a weekday when no conventions were in town or at the hotel so all was quiet.
I arrived late and left early. So no food or bar reviews. I suspect the bar is only open on the weekends or when there is a convention.
Breakfast is oranges/fruit, granola bars on a table by the front desk. Not much but enough especially if you are in a hurry.
Parking lot lights are not the newer brighter LED flood lights but the ones attached to the building appeared to be updated to the newer lights.
I would stay there again as long as there was no convention present.

All the staff were very professional and explained what was going on with our card. He told us what was there and around the hotel. The room was amazing and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The restaurant was a bit pricey but it was well worth the money. It was an all around amazing place.

Pet friendly hotel, that's why I give it 5 stars. 95% of the reviews you read are accurate. Very friendly staff, dated but clean rooms, noise travels up from main level, but not much to really complain about. If you're looking for a $200/night experience, you're not gonna get it, but then again you're not paying $200/night. I'd stay there again, and if you travel with pets, this is one that truly welcomes pets.

Amazing customer service! Exceptional food! Very Elegant hotel! Fast elevators! We stayed there for three days and every time we would leave to attend our meetings our rooms would be clean when we returned. Fresh towels...everyday. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Topeka but the Capitol Plaza. Breakfast delivered to your room! Wonderful fitness center! The list goes on!
