Econo Lodge at Wanamaker

Don't be put off by the area, this hotel is great. I drive cross country and have stayed at this hotel twice now. Good parking, clean updated rooms. Friendly staff. Plenty of food choices around. All in all, an excellent value. Just note, I don't believe there is an elevator, so maybe call ahead if that is a concern. I will stay here next time I am in town

We were blown away by the quality of this motel and our first floor room. Amazing value and good location for restaurants. The room is perfect. Other than the smallish towels, this Choice Hotel property is as good as a Hampton or Holiday Inn. We elected to stay here because it is pet friendly and we brought our 75 lb lapdog, Maggie will us on this trip to Colorado. Highly recommend this lodging alternative on the west side of Topeka.

Excellent. The staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean. Continental breakfast was decent. The manager came out and greeted my brother and me. Very nice man. Our family came and we had a very nice visit in our room the first day we were there. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Clean comfy rooms for an overnight stay... Desk staff friendly and accommodating, property in good location. Obviously an older motel that has been renovated, so might be some minor issues pointed out by other reviewers, but to me the lobby is well decorated and inviting as was the breakfast area. Room was very nice, bed was really comfy and we slept great. Bathroom is a might small, being a retrofit, but certainly 'do-able' and everything was very clean. One thing of note, floors in our room were not carpet. but rather a wood laminate... took a bit to get used to, but gives a MUCH cleaner feel and appearance. TV, WI-FI, fridge (with freezer for my blue ice packs!) microwave, all worked well.

Bottom line, my daughter felt safe despite a late check-in and she thought the motel was clean and comfortable. My daughter is a 'tough customer'... but if she is happy, dad is happy!

I was concerned about staying here because of the grounds being a bit overgrown and rough looking outside. NICE SURPRISE ! Rooms are very large bright and clean we had a great stay. They have a very nice reception area and a good breakfast until 9:00am. The pool was not open but looking in it appeared to be extremely nice and is inside. Great location very quiet area just off the interstate surrounded with plenty of places to eat get gas and a Walmart across the street. I will gladly stay here again great motel very friendly staff.

We were pleased. They room was clean. Prices were good. I thought the mattress went down in the middle, but my wife thought it was fine. The towels were better than at the Ramada we stayed at for more $$$. Good experience.

My mother and I were traveling from Denver and after making reservations the day before, we arrived and Jenny was working the front desk. She was professional, courteous, helpful, and answered all of
our questions, including mentioning the time for the indoor pool and hot tub.

After dinner, we returned and changed to take advantage of the pool. It took a little to get accustomed to it (still warmer than it was outside!) but once in it was quite pleasant. The hot tub was also quite nice except that the chlorine in the water was a bit much. But it's either that or potential issues, I'll take stinging eyes any day.

The decor was modern and you could tell the hotel had been renovated in the last couple of years. The bed was somewhat soft, which was fine considering how tired I was after a long day's driving.

The best part was that it was so quiet, and Jenny gave us a downstairs room, as a benefit to my Mom. We both appreciated that!

Finally, the price. That was incredible. I couldn't complain at all. And breakfast? While I went across the street and down the corner to the slow chain coffee shop, my Mom loved the coffee and said it was excellent.

Suffice to say, it was an excellent choice for passing through.

Pros: Best Hotel Breakfast I have had in a LONG time! Not those bagged of scrabbled egg substitute like you see at most places. but real eggs cooked hard (instead of over easy) they also has a variety of cereals, breads, waffles etc.the links and patty sausage was excellent! Staff was fantastic all around. We will make this our go to spot to stay here again.
Cons: The decor is just not what I would of done, bright colors line the hallways, but they did the best they could with the carpet there. I am also not a fan of the tile floors, But everything was clean and well kept. it was warm in the hallways which made it mustier than needed to be But once you got into your room it was fine. We will stay there again.

I stayed here for a night and the rooms were clean!, restrooms presentable, no smells, and in a decent part of town. Slept good on bed. Continental Breakfast was ok but could use Improvements. Prices are unbeatable. I will be staying here again when I'm in town.

Great staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms. Stayed there as a halfway point, and decided to stay again on our way back. We left early in the morning and our daughter forgot her stuffed bunny. The overnight worker spent his free time to find it for her. Such nice people in Topeka!

Awesome staff bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, muffins, coffee, tea, juice.etc. great price too for our 3 night stay.

Just stayed here a week ago for 4 nights. Was a great stay! Couldn't be happier with the stay. Priced right, The rooms have all just been redone. Hot breakfast every morning was nice also and the amenities. By a bunch of shopping and restaurants as well. Would stay here again and recommend.

Drove into Topeka and stopped in at Econo-Lodge for room. Place was clean and fresh. Jenny at front desk was awesome. Room was great. Price was great. Don't want to start anything, but owners wife was great enough to give us a ride to nearby restaurant and pick us up when done. Some of the best people ever with great accommodations. What advise everyone to stay here. Thanks Jenny!

Front desk attendant (I think they had red hair and a Nightmare Before Christmas shirt on) was super personable and understanding when I came in from a hectic day of driving and trying to find a decent place to lodge. They gave me my room key and told me that they’d placed me away from others so I could get a good night sleep. So nice! Glad I chose Econo Lodge 😊

Because it's clean it's quiet and they have a awesome pool temperature feels approximately 88°with a hotspa. and that staff makes you feel right at home. Econo Lodge is now officially my favorite Hotel and affordable!!!

Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. They matched the price quoted online. The breakfast wasn't available, which is understandable in this Covid time. We'd definitely stay here again.

Excellent. Great staff. Great service. The breakfast was very diverse and good. The rooms were very well accommodated, and clean. Will stay there every time I am in the area for work in the future.

Rooms were quiet, the bed was comfortable, the staff was gracious and friendly, the amenities were nice, the location with surrounding features is awesome, and the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this stop for any travellers needing a respite from the road.

We stayed there 6 times over 5 years, all good stays. I left behind an item Feb 2020. Called, owner located it in the room, had it sent to me. I paid for shipping, my fault it was left behind. Very kind, helpful staff & managers/owners. Walking distance to restaurants.

Our favorite place to stay in Topeka. Always very clean, great staff and management. They are very accommodating and professional. Rooms are modern w/o being fussy. We like to stay here
