Meriwether's Coffee Shop and Cafe

Meriwether’s is a cute little coffee shop in downtown Leavenworth. They have huge donuts that are tasty and they serve lunch items too. I love the chicken salad sandwich and I’ll often order it for pick up and take it to the office when I don’t have time to eat inside. Great place to meet for conversation and for small groups. We hope our reviews and photos are helpful for giving insight into shopping, eating and playing in the area we live in.

Support local and go to Meriwether's! It's such a unique and resourceful place. There is something for everyone here. The donuts are ridiculously yummy. The staff is so kind and helpful. And they have such a wide range of goodies! From clothes and accessories to locally farmed jam and poured candles I was extremely impressed. I will definitely be back to dine in and try delicious and original eats. 🤩

Meriwether's has some of the best donuts in the area. They are big, tasty and have substance to them. I am a plain glazed donut kind of fella and I like the flavor of the dough. I've never had anything else from here except for the donuts. They do have a small store in the front with artisan items. Lots of humorous stuff and clothing. GREAT DONUTS!!

UPDATE: 3/15/22
At the urging of "The Mountain" I stopped in to try the breakfast burrito. I had the carnitas burrito and it is everything and more that it was pronounced to be. Great combo of ingredients and it wasn't a soggy mess that is too common with other burritos I've had elsewhere. The salsa verde served with gave it the perfect tang. This has been added to my must haves when in the area.

We recently discovered Meriwether's while on a mini roadtrip with my boys. Cool people and yummy food. The coffee and the brownies were excellent. While the boys enjoyed their sweet I enjoyed the art and the people watching. What a cool place to find off our beaten track. Now I wish we lived closer!

There are not enough good words I can use to describe how incredible Meriweather’s was on our wedding day! Let me first start with, even a month later, people are still talking about the charcuterie table and “THOSE DONUTS!” I literally here that phrase from every single person I talk to.
For our wedding we decided to have some fun and we had basically brunch for dinner. Donuts was already our #1 choice, even before the breakfast for dinner idea came around, and when I tried their donuts I knew they where the one. Best. Donuts. Ever. Love at first bite! No but seriously!
Working with the catering director Christina was so much fun. She had as much joy and enthusiasm as I did about all of it, which was wonderful. We then built a beautiful donut board and then Mountain and Andrew set up both the Charcuterie table and the donut board. Both were works of art! You could tell they take pride in what they do, and it showed big time. And it was all quickly devoured!! Have I mentioned yet how delicious everything was!?!
They all took my ideas, the overall colors and theme of the wedding, my dream vision, and then delivered well beyond those dreams. Lisa was our angel helping hand that stayed on for the reception and she was such a joy. So many people commented about how nice and helpful she was and she went above and beyond in her duties, which I was so incredibly grateful for. So here is the deal, if you want donuts at your wedding or at your event, literally the best donuts in existence. If you want a fun charcuterie table at your event, both delicious and beautiful, this is the only place to get it. And if you want to have the very best of both, people that have a love for what they do and truly listen to you, then you have to go with Meriweathers!

It's a beautiful setting for something that is more than just a coffee shop in the middle of downtown. If you LOVE coffee and not a fan of traditional coffee shops,then this quaint and gem of a place is for you. I cant say anything about the food,because I haven't tried it yet😁😁😁😁

A wonderful treat! Meriwether's is a coffee shop, cafe, gift store, internet cafe etc. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to see why this would be a regular stop for one's morning drink of choice. I'm not even a coffee drinker but I still had plenty to choose from with hot chocolate, soft drinks, and teas. Donuts, pastries, and breakfast burritos are just a few of the items on the menu. The cafe section offers tables & chairs for dining as well as sofas and arm chairs for reading, surfing the internet or even playing one of the board games that is provided by the store. The choices in the gift store are many....from antiques to slicing your own handcrafted soap to spices and seasonings.

Excellent sense of balance with their food presentations today and the Muddy River that they made was excellent.

The vibe of the whole place is earthy and welcoming with a selection of curiosities and local art all available for purchase to the discerning customer. The staff were extremely kind and efficient at the counter even though this morning was fairly busy and both my and my child's drinks were provided quickly without any sacrifice of quality.

I cannot recommend this place enough for needs ranging from coffee and donuts all the way to carefully curated charcuterie.

Deliciously crafted coffee. Fun little market place with vegan, organic, and kosher dry good options. They also showcase work from local artists and craftsmen.

Cutest coffee shop!! Amazing food, great and unique coffee concoctions, and a cool vibe. Go in the summer on saturday before you hit the fun farmers market!

Great Coffee with a great vibe! The shop has two separate seating areas, and lots of work space or chat space. They are also known for their great donuts!

On strictly donuts alone, in all Kansas that I have found they have the best donuts. The donuts themselves are huge and they have exotic flavors as well as standards.

Meriwethers did a donut display for our daughter’s wedding and it was incredible! We would do it again!

I had to try the Lemon Lavender and Strawberry Basil donuts and they were delicious! I'd recommend calling to see what's available if you order online since Grubhub doesn't update the inventory. Those donuts go fast! The staff was really nice and the whole shop was nice and inviting. Definitely check out Tiffany's handmade jewelry in the market. So pretty! I will have to come back next time I'm in town to try out the scones.

Love this place. It has a downtown kc vibe that's cool while providing its own unique feeling in downtown Leavenworth.
My kids love the donuts. I'm a fan of the breakfast burritos and any one of their signature coffee drinks. Lots of cool stuff to check out while your food is being prepared fresh.

This place is really cool!! They have all kinds of locally made art and jewelry and clothes and things for sale all throughout the seating areas for the coffee shop.... The coffee was amazing and the donuts and pastries were too. They have all kinds of different - not just the same as everywhere- options. I really loved the selection of jam and jellies they had for sale too. Very cool place to go and I highly recommend it!!

Drinks are awesome. They have really good cookies and donuts. The place is really nice as well as service. We didn’t know they close at 3 and we came in at 3 and they were very nice too us besides that. They have a cool antique place with an old tv and books so you can get a drink and read something.

The best donuts of my life!! A little pricy, but within the normal Starbucks price range. Much better than some corporate megachain! Great breakfast burritos and cappuccinos! Nice atmosphere.

A very nice and friendly place. I LOVE their breakfast burritos, they are the best I have ever had, and that is saying something! I cannot have the burrito shell due to dietary restrictions, so I was offered either to have it in a bowl without the shell, or wrapped in chard which they had just picked up from the farmers market across the street (can you say fresh?). I have tried it both ways and it is absolutely amazing. I can't wait to try more items off of their menu!
