the reception staff at OPFD are very friendly, welcoming, and make an effort to relate to you on a personal level. they are even willing to help you figure out plans and walk you through payment processes. kari was so kind and accommodating towards me, both in scheduling and helping me navigate the world of dental insurance :P

dr. gallagher and his staff were very kind and understanding, too. i have a lot of sensory issues as an autistic person and my anxiety doesn't help so the dentist is very intimidating and scary for me and i didn't seek treatment for a long time because of it. dr. gallagher made the experience a lot more tolerable. i think i freaked him out bc i couldn't stop crying during my top fillings, but he and his hygienist (i think her name is lauren) were comforting and checked in on me and were extremely accommodating and encouraging. despite the condition my teeth were in and despite my own issues with my anxiety, dr. gallagher didn't shame me or make me feel bad during my visit, which is a rare thing i think for dentists.

the doctor is very busy but he and his staff took the time to explain the procedures (i got four fillings :P) and even the reception reached out when there was a last-minute opening for me. they worked around my 9-6 work schedule and made sure i was taken care of for future exams and cleanings. i am very glad to have found this place and will recommend it. if you want a judgement-free environment or need accommodations bc the dentist in general is very scary, i recommend dr. gallagher and his staff for whatever you need. they're awesome - thank you!

I had to change Dentist due to my insurance. I read reviews on Dr. Gallagher and decided to make an appointment. Everything went very smoothly from a telephone enquiry, to making an appointment. I was seen right away and I was very impressed with how I was treated, from the receptionist, dental assistant, Millie and Dr. GALLAGHER. They were all very professional but friendly. I had a crown replaced and the whole experience was seemless. I also had cleaning done and the dental hygienist was very gentle but thorough! I will recommend this dental clinic any time!

Dr Gallagher is very friendly , warm and always has this pleasant demeanor when communicating with the patient. He has great bedside care. He’s very knowledgeable and explains everything clearly and answers all your questions PLEASANTLY. Been going here for my dental needs since 2018 and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. His staff is very friendly as well. 100% recommend !

Dr. Gallagher and his staff were professional, courteous, and very friendly. They made sure I was properly informed before starting my wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. Gallagher was pleasant to deal with, so was his hygienist. This was as pleasant of a dental visit as one can have, and I'm not fond of going to the dentist. haha I very highly recommend Overland Park Family Dental.

My wife and I moved to the area 4 years ago and became new patients to Overland Park Dental and Dr. Gallagher at that time. I have always had anxiety about the dentist my entire life but I can say without a doubt Dr Gallagher and the entire staff make it as easy and stress free as it can possibly be. Earlier today I went in to have some work done that frankly had me tense but Dr Gallagher had me at ease as he explained exactly what he was going to do step by step and let me know these steps as he was performing. His assistant was top notch and I felt a level of calm I have never experienced in a dentist chair...and I am close to 60 years of age. If you are uneasy about the dentist I would encourage you to give Overland Park Family Dental a call and speak to Gail to get the process started, she is awesome along with the rest of the staff here.

Dr. Gallagher did a great job with a couple of fillings that I needed to get replaced. Everything was quick and painless and the fillings feel great!

I usually see Cassie for cleanings and she does a great job and is super friendly! When I went in this time Jill was available for the time I needed and was very impressed with how thorough she was - both super excellent hygienists!

The front desk really does everything in their power to work with insurance to make patients lives easier as well. I love the updated technology they use which makes me comfortable that nothing gets missed. I definitely will continue to trust Dr. Gallagher's team to take care of my smile!

Dr Gallagher is very thorough and clear about each step of each procedure. He is very engaging with the patient and provides an atmosphere of comfort and understanding as well as his team. Gail is very informative and will keep you updated regularly from appointment reminders to billing.

The staff focuses on being friendly as well as providing a high level of patient care.

I am so happy with my experience. Dr. Gallagher's whole team is helpful and insightful. From the time I first called, I felt cared for. The front office team is so friendly! The hygienists actually take pictures of your teeth and let you review them as they discuss care. I had a few fillings done (I am TERRIFIED of needles), but the assistant held my hand. She was so calming. On top of that, Dr. Gallagher talked to me throughout the procedure. I felt informed and comforted. I love them!

Wonderful experience from the moment I walked in. I was greeted by Gail at the front desk and welcomed into the office. Paperwork was a breeze! Becca was wonderful she made me feel at ease and explained in detail everything she was doing which was very informative. I had my two kids with me and she entertained them as well which was very sweet! I will be recommending to anyone I know looking for a dentist in this area. The staff are all really sweet and nice and Dr. Gallagher was really nice and explained my treatment plan and steps in a clear manner.

I just had my first visit yesterday-This is a wonderful dental office. All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Gail at the front desk is personable and very knowledgeable, great at explaining benefits and scheduling. I was seen in a timely manner (almost no waiting time). The office is clean and accommodating, with private exam rooms.The machines appear to be the newest technology, and I appreciated being able to see my pictures and X-rays appear instantly on the screen provided so I could understand exactly what was going on. Dr. Gallagher is patient, friendly, confident, and thorough. He addressed my concerns and questions, and was able to identify issues that my previous dentist had missed. This team has quickly gained my trust. I have nothing negative to say about my first experience here. I truly feel that I am in good hands!

The receptionist at the front desk was one of the friendliest people I've ever encountered in the healthcare industry, and that says a lot since I also work in the field. She made me feel welcome the moment I walked through the doors. Dr. Gallagher was also great- he explained everything to me as he was doing it, it made me feel more comfortable to know what was going on and what to expect. I just had my second visit to Overland Park Family Dental and have been very pleased with my experiences. Dr. Gallagher and his staff are are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The office and facilities are clean and stylish. I am particularly fascinated by the newer technology and imaging that allows you to really see exactly which areas of your teeth are being worked on. It is also nice to catch some tv as you are reclined back in the dentist chair. Lastly, I am happy with the hours as I was able to schedule late enough in the day so I didn't have to miss any work.

I just recently moved to Overland Park, KS and was looking for a dentist. After reading reviews, I selected Overland Park Family Dental. I am really glad I did. The office was clean, super friendly, and took great care of me explaining everything. Dr. Gallagher was very patient and made me feel at ease while I was there. Dr. Gallagher and his staff put me at ease with my dental anxiety. Friendly doctor....friendly staff. And pain free! I needed some fillings and they used a numbing gel before injecting the anesthesia. I didn't feel a thing. I also like the private rooms with the TV's on ceiling. Nice touch. Highly recommend!

This office is very professional. They offer excellent comfort options and I feel like they really care about their patients. I came from another dentist who I felt was “selling me” on more expensive options than what would normally be recommended. Dr. Gallagher takes in consideration what your options are and makes conservative recommendations. I am now going to be a patient here for as long as possible!

So I am absolutely terrified of the dentist. I have been going here for a while now and they have really made me feel so much better every time I go. My first visit I almost passed out from freaking out and they helped calm me down and didn’t treat me weird. They ask me if I’m okay every step of the way and they tell me every step of the process. Cassie is the best dental hygienist ever and Dr. Gallagher is really great too. Thank you for always keeping me calm and not treating me weird for being scared.

I chose this dental office based on reviews, after an embarrassingly long time since visiting a dentist, due to a bad experience elsewhere. This is a wonderful practice, with caring, efficient, and excellent staff!
