Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom

Checked out OCP around 10:30pm. Great atmos, friendly bartender working hard. I ordered a $6 pizza two toppings. I’ll be back.

Good food and service. We fried buffalo chicken rolls and were very good. Garlic bread was tasty and wings were good. Pizza was something different. The base was quite different from other pizzas. It was very delicious. I would visit this place again with lot of people as I was unable to finish the pizza on a single go. Their thin pizza did not felt like a thin and also not like the regular pizzas. It’s something different.

Came in for a few brews to celebrate veterans day. They had a menu of free veterans day lunches which wasn't a huge surprise. What was a surprise was the thoughtfulness of the table set up to acknowledge veterans day. I instantly new a veteran had set it up. Talking with our server turned out he was a marine and had stepped up to make sure the table was a worthy example of their devotion to veterans. JOB WELL DONE. THANK YOU.

Pros:
(1) Has deep dish crust
(2) Nice building

Cons:
(1) Can be very crowded
(2) Pizza flavor inconsistent sometimes (in retrospect, pizza might have been undercooked on our second visit)
(3) Can be slow service (way too few servers - have to wait 5-10 minutes for anything server-related)

Loved this place! Had an amazing dinner with the wife! Food was incredible and hardly no wait! Was kinda cold inside but other than that the experience was one to remember. Would recommend coming here to anyone passing through. We were great and accommodated very quickly. Server was quick and not too pushy so that was good!

I was pleasantly surprised at how great this place was! Extremely friendly and attentive staff, huge booths that comfortably fit 6 adults, and good food!

Everyone in my group enjoyed their food. We started with the Italian Nachos (not pictured). Pics are midway through the meal.

Updated Review - I’ve grown to love this place. Yes, they had some issues with the beer taps, but I’ve seen less and less over time. I frequent this place usually about every other week. There’s always room at the bar and plenty of seating. It’s very family friendly in the back too. Bar staff are extremely friendly as well.

2019 Review - Nice selection of beer but legit every time I’ve been in there they’ve had a issue with the beer taps for some reason.

First time at this place and I was pleasantly surprised... the hostess was nice. My waiter was awesome... food was good. Pan pizza Chicago 7 was really good, date had the chicken tender sandwich, she said it was good with the Garlic aoli.... she really enjoyed the pickles on the sandwich as well. Had a mule, it was decent, and the beer, which I can't remember the name, was good a well. Date had the orange cranberry cider, she enjoyed immensely. Great first date place.

Always fantastic food. With great service. If you like a more bar mixed with Italian food. Definitely give it a try! And don't skip the ale crust for your pizza, only one I ever get.

I loved it. Absolutely devoured. Server was awesome. Wish I remembered her name... It was 06/23/23 around 2pm. her name maybe started with an "E". Maybe not. But she was very nice.

This place was perfect after a long day driving. No wait to get in, wide selection of draft beers, tasty pizza and plenty of TVs to watch the basketball game. And we could walk there from our hotel.

Their Chicago Thick pizzas are consistently delicious. Our favorite toppings to try have included red pepper, pepperoni, and Italian sausage. I do also enjoy their garden side salad.

This OC has been consistently very good since we started going there in the late 1990s. During our visit today, the food was especially great and the service was fantastic even though we got there around 7 pm on a Saturday night. We will keep coming back! No wait in the bar side even though it was almost full. Waiter was experienced and memorized our custom order!
