Econo Lodge Inn & Suites I-35 at Shawnee Mission

So far so good after the first night. I've had very bad experiences as of lately in the past week with motels and their deposit policies. I paid cash last night for this room so that way I can receive my money in an expeditious fashion. One hotel where I've been staying all this past week held my deposit and we had agreed upon that until I checked out completely...more to it. Well, this is why I am at this hotel and being more cautious how this deposit is done this time around. I'm not a partier I'm not into any mischief All I want to do is lay my head down and always take pictures of the room for proof because a lot of times they will try to run game on something just to keep your money. So, it is still to be determined with the rating and outcome of this location. I will start them off appropriately at a five-star and update if anything changes when I check out Monday and see how this deposit situation goes down. And I did take video of me handing over my money because it just seems like deposits are easily able to disappear.
Also, I feel there should be some type of communication between management and the cleaning people. I think it would be simple to communicate with them and let them know or have a piece of paper or some system. Notating who's staying longer than one night and if they're staying longer than one night to be courteous.

Clean Rooms , Excellent Location For Travelers & Great Customer Service ! Beds Were A Little On The Stiff Side But Overall A Good Place To Stay

It was hands down the CLEANEST place I've ever stayed! Even some $100+ a night places don't compare to the cleanliness of this place. From the immaculate towels to the spotless walls, to the shower pressure and the comfortable bed... everything was perfect. I didn't find a single hair besides mine in my room and for me, that's probably the grossest thing to see someone's hair on your clean towel as you pick it up to dry off. They let me pay my $50.00 deposit in cash and gave it right back when I checked out 2 days later. I didn't get a chance to check out breakfast because I work late nights so that is pretty much the only thing I can't comment on. I will definitely stay here again!

This Econo lodge is a very well-run, clean, friendly, family-owned motel. Easy access to major highways. I did not take advantage of the free breakfasts, so I cannot comment on that. Very close to alot of restaurants and shopping. There is an on-site laundry facility and an in-ground pool. This is a pet-friendly hotel, although you may need to pay a security deposit for your fur-baby. Nice area of town, so you will feel safe staying here.

My desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I didn't get his name but he worked at night and was slightly timid. The room was small and simple. Just what I needed for night at a competitive price. It was clean and well taken care of. The breakfast area was also taken care of. They offered Cereal, juice and small muffins. The only con is they didn't salt their parking lot and a guest slipped on the ice which is dangerous.

They have two-bedroom rooms that come with three queen beds and sleep 6 people. Clean rooms, bathrooms and friendly staff. Breakfast can be better as they only had cereal, muffins and fruit.

The rooms were clean and had all the amenities of pricier motels. The staff was very accommodating. My daughter was having surgery at St.Luke’s nearby and they allowed last minute cancellations to accommodate our uncertain length of stay.

No, this is not a 5-Star hotel, but if you want a place to lay your head, clean room, clean shower, and close to a Quiktrip...then, this is your place. I've been staying here when I work in KC for 8 years. The family is very friendly and know me by name.

It was a nice, remodeled motel. Staff was friendly and courteous and the check in was a breeze. Our room was nice and the bed was pretty comfortable. There was a lot of noise outside of our room until 3am or so and the walls seemed to be fairly thin as we could hear our neighbors. Overall, a great place and a great value. There is a Steak-n-Shake in the same parking lot area and a Quick Trip gas station right across the street which was convenient. We would stay again!

I'm glad that the room was clean and didn't have a bad odor. The room was missing a few things, but it wasn't a big deal for a 1 night stay. The breakfast room has some basic breakfast food/snack.

Don't let the low price deter you. Very well maintained and great location.

Make sure u ask if there is a Deposit. When I got here I had to pay a $50 deposit and put a card on hold. The pool was wonderful

Customer service from check-in to checkout was courteous and respectful. Rooms are nice, clean, and modern. Would definitely come again.

This hotel was very accommodating pertaining to our situation.

We had some issues with another hotel that we waited till 8:30am after arriving at 1am and never did get a room.

We called the Econo Lodge at 830am and where hoping to get an early checkin due to being up all night and pretty tired. The gentleman that we talked with said we could check in right away. This just made our day.

The place was clean and it was cool. That day was pretty hot outside and this place helped us to get some much needed rest.

Room was clean, comfortable and fully handicap accessible, as requested. Rate was reasonable for the area. Only problem was a toilet that flushed for at least two minutes,no exaggerating. Reported it to the office, but no action was taken during a one week stay. Oh well, annoying but it's their water bill!

Staff was friendly. Great place to stay for me and my cat on a long road trip passing through.

Was a great room just had to adjust the heat.. I ask for 1st floor & got that.. Next time my friend comes up to visit we'll get a room there again...AKA Where lovers meet..

Great remodel! We spend a weekend here for a work trip. The rooms were super clean and well appointed. Super solid choice. PS the staff was friendly and helpful during our entire stay.
