Don't be put off by the direct conversation. Mr. Murphy is busy although he'll make time to tell you exactly how your upholstery needs will be met. We have 4 bar stools that were made by my ancestors and the landfill was not an option. Mr. Murphy, "Bring your checkbook, I don't take plastic." And..."I'm busy till May 2024 or June 2024." Again, very direct but much appreciated. We took one of the 4 chairs and he measured, I looked at fabric and in the end a good price to be had. I'll update this when we begin the process but so far, so good. He's had this business since 1976 and it's been in business since 1947. Again, he's gruff and to the point. And thats ok, some am I.

Mike and his team are wonderful! They not only do excellent work, they are kind, professional and accommodating. I can't thank them enough. Thanks to Mike I've been able to save high quality furniture, reupholstering over the years. Thanks Mike!

We have used Murphy Furniture twice in the last couple of years. Once was to re-cane dining room chairs and our next redo was to upholster a favorite chair and ottoman. The shop has a nice selection of fabrics to choose from. The work on both projects was very satisfactory and delivered in a timely manner.

They are really helpful and good but expensive...
