Wonderful park next to Kaw River. At the right time of the year you can watch the KU Rowing teams practicing their sport. Even on a cloudy, cold day in winter, there is wild life to enjoy watching.

if you go down the trails leading from the park itself there's some amazing places. the park, is also fantastic as it has multiple recreation areas and a very upliftng atmosphere. A solid pick if you want to explore lawrence and get outside the town a little.

A nice place to go and enjoy the river side. And have a cookout at one of the built-in grills and picnic tables

Beautiful place for photos. Can be a little sketchy however, not probably somewhere I would frequent after dark.

The shelter with tables offers a great view of the river with trail access and a porta potty if needed. New swings will added soon

Burcham Park is a nice nature area. The trail is paved now which is both safer and somewhat sad--almost getting lost in the trees was part of the charm of the trail. There is fishing in the river, though I wouldn't recommend eating anything from there. The artwork throughout the park is lovely. I'm glad that Lawrence has updated the equipment and shelters.

It’s beautiful. My two sons and I walked the trail and played in the dirt and sticks every turn we made! At the end of our adventure there’s a water pump that we were all more than happy and able to access to cool off and wash away the dirt and sweat before climbing back into the car. There was a very nice individual that had been kayaking the River whom I had a very pleasant conversation with he noticed me with the boys and offered water and Gatorade out of his cooler for us to have and drink after I realized I didn’t have anything at the time. I was able to enjoy my kids and scenery have good conversations get some exercise and still make it to my appointment on time afterwards. I recommend this place very much.

Park is beautiful with a perfect canopy with tables as well as home for the KU Rowing Team (which is currently recruiting any students interested). Great walking trails along the river as well as a brand new swing set.

Been to this park sporadically all my life. It's evolved into a more domestic creature than it was in the old days. Playground? I guess. Restrooms? Maybe?

Super cool, kind of secret park, I've lived in Lawrence almost 5 years now and didn't know about this place. But it follows along the river is mostly in the shade and has plenty of benches.

I use this trail to exercise on my bicycle. Wide paved path that runs along the river mostly shaded and for the most part level. Good for working up to distance. Up to 12 miles now

They set up bouncy castle and had food trucks for the Fourth of July. It's cleared out decent around the paths. Lovely stroll by the river.
