Hidden gems abound on this little trail, which is paved all the way to a vista of the river valley. Maps of the Rockefeller Prairie trail and the un-pathed paths are available on the Kansas Biological Survey website.

Early morning. Fierce wind making music in the stripped trees, pushing me backward in the open space. Only partly hidden sun splays a corona of rays all over the palette of sky ahead. This is my go-to place for peace.

An amazing trail that overlooks Lawrence from the North. I highly recommend visiting here at least once if you live in Lawrence, as well as the many other trails within the KU Field Station.

Great place with a view. If you able hike the other 3.5 miles, which isn't paved but fun to explore.
