This place is great for weekend camping trips. Tent sites or RV spots are nicely spaced out and shaded, they didn't have any water/ sewer sites available or they had some for staff members at the Hickory campground. Dump station available also. The nearby beach was great, with 3 volleyball nets, a playground, life jackets available, and a cold shower for sand removal.

Great camping and RV hook up with water and electricity, bathrooms are clean and well kept.

Had a wonderful memorial day weekend camping experience here! The raccoons tried to steal our griddle one night but we brought it in the second night as a result. We will be back!

We stayed at the Oak campground at 319. It was very beautiful and peaceful. There is a water spigot that you push down on in the center for drinking, cooking, cleaning, really anything you want. I ended up using it to clean the soot off my hands and oh my goodness does it have some PRESSURE!!!! This site does have a bathroom, just not flushable, it's between campsites 311 and 308. There are no trashcans or sinks in the restroom, but the toilet paper was stocked and it was pretty clean in there! Seems like everyone listens to the quiet hours and settles down by 10pm. During the day we had two park rangers drive by to check on us and gave us a friendly wave. The woman who helped us check in was wonderful and very welcoming. The swimming beach was great, not over crowded at all. We did plan on fishing but couldn't seem to find a good spot to fish without going through someone else's campsite, so decided not to fish this time. Overall it was a great stay, very friendly staff, and a great place to reconnect with nature.

Fantastic! I absolutely love the area. It is well maintained and the Park Rangers and park staff are super friendly and helpful. Do keep in mind that the boat ramps and beach has a daily fee unless you are camping, for which you get a yellow hang tag for your vehicle to show that. You have to check in at the camp attendant booth to get the vehicle passes for camping so don't forget to do that like me. after roasting in the sun while camping at the state park because they have no trees, and now having experienced the federal park, I will never go back to the state park ever again!!

I almost hate to review just how excellent this stop was as it felt like a well kept secret. We traveled through end of July and the grounds were almost empty. Absolutely beautiful camping, fine facilities, and a beautiful landscape. A hidden treasure!

The park is clean and well maintained. Restrooms and shows are also very clean and we'll maintained. Camp sites offer shade, electric hookups and water hookups. All in all it's a great place to go.

Very level sites. In cedar ridge all are pull thru. Nice and quiet too. I can see stopping here again.
