Cortado Mediterranean Cafe

Very cute cafe! Someone had brought me a Latte from here and I loved it so I had to come and check the place out. Although their machine wasn’t working I got a Cold Brew instead and it was just as great!! 1000/10 pizza!!!! I was seriously shocked at how good it was! (I’m from New York). Service was very fast and efficient. Can’t wait to come back

I got the drip coffee medium roast, the Israeli breakfast, and a chocolate pastry. It was good, especially the coffee and crossiant. The barista I spoke to definitely was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was expensive but they arnt doing things like the other coffee shops I've been to in the area, so the price seems fair. I wouldn't get the breakfast again but I would come back based on how good the coffee and pastry was.

Foods were not only yummy, they were also healthy! Not too much oil or sauce, foods are fresh and delicious. The salad portion was huge. They also have very good croissant, almond croissant is one of the best croissant I’ve ever had.

Came here because I needed a nearby study place on a rainy day, and I’m happy to find out that the cortado is indeed delicious

This place has the most delicious matcha lattes! My girlfriend got the maple tahini latte & it was very tasty & perfectly sweetened. We also split the Vietnamese sandwich on ciabatta, it was full of flavor, & the grilled chicken was deliciously juicy!

Excellent service and delicious food. I love that they have a self serve ice water dispenser- add a really nice touch on hot July days! My Greek salad was delicious and everyone else seemed to love their meal as well.

Great place for coffee and cafe for meals. Also this place has the best tasting falafel burger in town. My favorite burger in Iowa City.
Okay. Just tried the Hawaiian wrap and it's a yummy breakfast delight. The mix of sausage and sweet pineapples hits the spot with a cup of coffee. Worth every penny and more. Enjoy.

Great little spot in the heart of downtown Iowa City. I came here for a mid-morning breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the items I ordered, the tasteful decor surrounding me, and the attentiveness of the staff.

I ordered an "Ultimate Croissant" and their namesake, the cortado. The drink came out quickly and was just what I expect from a cortado, smooth. I sipped it slowly while I enjoyed my sandwich, a simple yet well put together breakfast croissant. The staff were friendly and responded quickly to requests. The environment was more lively as compared to other cafes in the area and the decor was tastefully modern. Bathroom was clean and well kept. Overall I enjoyed my visit and will be coming back in the future.

my go to study spot! very kind workers who are always helpful. love seeing middle eastern representation in this town! spinach and ricotta croissant is my fav as well as the chai. so worth!! deserves all the love.

This place always has interesting new flavor combos in their featured drink, they craft excellent coffee drinks, and the food and pastries are also delicious.

Finally the cortado is magnificent.

Perfect place to pick up coffee or tea before class. Lovely sunshine warms up whole inside. Very taste and authentic coffee!

Great coffee and espresso drinks. I tried the cortado (I had to, it's in their name), and it was delicious.

This is one of the best cafes in town. I love their cappuccino, it tasteful with a perfect ration of espresso to milk (got double shot). The foam is not hanging on top like at many other places. They also have a nice lunch/breakfast menu and make their own pita bread. I have tried their Falafel burger, chicken sandwich, etc and I liked it.

I just suggest that the owner smiles a bit😀

Now (summer 2023) they offer great Pizza on Thursday and Friday nights.

I had a very enjoyable experience each time I have gone there. I dined in today. They care about what they do there.

Cortado never fails to hit the spot: the lamb shawarma is the PERFECT lunch and always my first choice. Their hummus is the best that I’ve had in Iowa. Finally, the falafel is always crisp and perfectly done. I often find myself grabbing some hummus to bring home or some olive oil from their mini market on the shelf.

My only regret with Cortado is that they aren’t open more hours of the day. This place is legit. Enjoy!

I've been there like three times food is amazing never was disappointed always hot and fresh taste like not too greasy I just how I just like how fresh and clean it tastes when I eat it I really like your restaurant friendly nice people I think but the food is Top Chef love it

Hands down the best falafel in Iowa City! Great vibe and delicious oat milk chai lattes.

My favorite place in downtown Iowa City for espresso! The pita and hummus are made fresh daily and are just perfect 👌 I don't eat meat, but my wife has had the lamb shawarma pita wrap and says it's incredible, and there's a tofu wrap that looks amazing. I am so thankful this place exists!
