Deary Brothers Mike's Stand

Hey drove from Richmond, VA to get me some whole bellies clams! Anytime I'm in CT I always try to make a stop at DB. Been here for 85 years. Summer outdoor food stand with lots of picnic tables. Can't get whole bellies down south, least where I am, so always looking tonget some. They are lightly fried with a good batter, always tasty. Another northern thing I moss are clam cakes, so we grabbed a 1/2 dozen of those as well. Back in the day this was a normal hang out spot for some grub or some ice cream. Pretty cool that I've gotten my kids to look forward to DB stop anytime we are visiting. Got a pint of clams, clam cakes, a scoop of cookies n cream and a banana split. Staff is always friendly. Food is pretty quick, always hot and tasty. Great New England tradition, always well worth the trip!

Great seafood, fries, and the coleslaw is the best I've had bar none. They have light, crispy, batter which makes their fish, scallops, and clams fantastic. Ice cream is good as well. Being a stand it is outdoor dining only, picnic tables. Not much to see as it's in the middle of a neighborhood but they've done a nice job of maintaining their shade trees so it's a pleasant outdoor, self serve, dining experience.
Not kidding about the coleslaw; I swing by and just buy coleslaw on a regular basis.

So happy I found this place started my training over at the UNION Academy asked some locals for good finger Food & was pointed in the right direction.
atmosphere was great. I love it’s history coming from the city 🏙 always around loud noises cars people only seeing buildings it was so relaxing to enjoy my meal outside Birds chirping, friendly neighbors again great food bottomline they’ll be seeing a lot more of me the month that I’m here

We always love coming to Mike's stand for ice cream. And food. Burgers are always delicious. Ice cream is great. Line can be a little long but it moves pretty quick and is worth waiting. The picnic tables fill up quick. It's always busy. Reasonable prices. My whole family enjoys going here. We come a couple times a month. Sad that it will be closing on September 17th.

Lived in Putnam for 3 years, didn't know this place existed till now. Menu has a lot of options. I had an Oreo/Coffee ice cream. Ice cream was perfect. Not freezer burnt , good texture, just the right amount of ingredients. Vibe is really good, liked the outside picnic tables. Unfortunately no umbrellas on the tables but there's plenty of trees for shade. Service was excellent, server took time to explain options,very knowledgeable of menu. Parking is tight but very manageable. I would highly recommend trying Deary Brothers ! I will be coming back !

Awesome place unexpected come check it out fast service great food

I give the food three stars. Pretty average but nicely served. The extra two stars belong to the servers. There is great energy and fun when the serving is going on. They made it a great experience.

The restaurant offers delicious food and is definitely family-friendly. Nonetheless, during my visit on Tuesday 8/1 at 5 pm with my 2-year-old, we encountered an unsettling welcome. A staff member turned on his motorcycle, sat on it for a few minutes, then left it unattended and running for a while, causing disruption and frightening my daughter due to the loud noise. Hopefully, such incidents can be avoided in the future to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for families with young children.

absolutely delicious. nothing else can be said about it. come try the clam cakes and you'll be convinced.

An excellent spot for lunch or a snack. Staff are friendly and polite. Prices are great and the food is very good.

We went here for dinner the other night. We ordered clam cakes and clap chowder and then Almond Joy Ice cream and Black Rasberry Sherbert. We were very happy with our experience as well were our tastebuds!! We wi definitely go back.

Good food from a friendly staff. Perfect little fast food kind of spot to eat delicious seafood, chowder and clam cakes. Ice cream is delicious too!

Large seafood menu, quick service, classic!

This place is amazing! We got the lobster roll and the clam strips and I'm not a big clam strip fan and these were amazing. My kids got the hamburger and hot dog and they loved them. We had a milkshake which was delicious and took some clam chowder home for dinner and that was the BEST! Will be returning.

Quintessential roadside ice cream stand, Hot dogs and french fries were and ice cream flavors selection is awesome. Picnic tables for dining under the trees. Service is really great.

Deliciously juicy burgers...fresh perfect whole belly clams n chowda and amazing sundaes!!! Great outdoor seating with bug zappers and quiet setting. Local fave since I was a kid.

I have always loved going to Mike's stand. I have never had anything bad to say about them. The food is always amazing. The ice cream is awesome. Great family friendly atmosphere!!!

This place gives off a awesome old school vibe. Food is reasonably priced and very good. Ice cream is giffords, very well priced with big servings.
