Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral

Two years ago we met with Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home and prepaid for the funeral of a loved one. When the time came (Feb. 2023), we met with Mark Holmes of LT&C FH in Vernon. Mark walked us through every step of the wake and funeral planning with patience, understanding and professionalism making sure that we understood. Every detail was covered so that when we were done, all our questions had been answered and we were assured that the requests we had made would would be carried out. Mark, his assistant Debbie, and his staff were invaluable to us. The wake and funeral were expertly handled and everything went smoothly. It felt like we were working with good friends rather than a business. We would highly recommend Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home as a dedicated, caring and professional organization.

We had an unexpected death in the family and were unsure how to proceed. All of the personnel at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home in Vernon treated us with compassion and patience. Jason explained all the options and that the timeframe would be what worked best for us as a family. We are forever grateful for the way they treated us during that most difficult time.

Losing a loved one and dealing with funeral arrangements is a very emotional event. Mark Holmes helped make that journey so much easier when my mom passed. He is compassionate, patient and made the whole process so much less stressful. It was a great relief knowing we could count on him to make sure we were doing everything we were supposed to and that nothing would be forgotten. I would not hesitate to use his services again in the future and strongly recommend him to anyone who finds themselves needing to make funeral arrangements.

Mark Holmes was awesome to work with during this difficult time of my mom's passing. My mom passed away during the Covid pandemic so things were complicated My mom had a pre-paid funeral with a different funeral home who's funeral director was less than compassionate which only made matters harder.

Mark had patience, understanding, and guidance was most helpful during this past year to ensure my mom's cremains and wishes were followed. Mark did things in a way just so personal. He never made me feel like “just another customer. He continues to have that human touch and so much compassion.

This was my first time handling funeral arrangements, and I could not have been more pleased with the service provided by the staff at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon. Mark Holmes was easy to work with - thorough and accessible, which was extremely helpful, since I was an out-of-towner with limited availability to meet in person. Mark, Gary and the rest of the staff went above and beyond throughout the entire process, even hand-delivering paperwork to me so that I could focus on other matters. Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home's staff and attention to every detail exceeded expectations. Of particular note I would highly recommend Wendy Smith Thames and Debbie Schneider. Wendy is the Funeral Director and Debbie is the Office Manager. Every single interaction was done with compassion from the initial consultation through post-services follow-up. As I was the conduit between Wendy and my family; she kept me informed and was extremely responsive even or her days off. She allowed me to focus on grieving and consoling my mother, siblings and relatives through this difficult time. The compassion, sensitivity and professionalism demonstrated by Geoffrey ( help with pre- arrangements, he came to our home to meet with Tom, & quickly established a rapport with him), Dan who actually help with the funeral arrangements after Tom passed, Janice our host who did everything possible to make sure everything went according during the funeral memorial service as well as the viewing. Debbie who was very patient with my numerous phone calls & questions. They demonstrated much they care about the remains of my husband as much as my family. We were all treated with the upmost respect. I dreaded the responsibilities that waited me upon entering this venue. Brian Bentley, however, made the experience not such the unpleasant one. Brian educated me, had patience with me, showed compassion and an amazing aptitude for remembering the smaller details that pertained solely to me, our family and our situation. Debbie and the rest of the staff were imaginative in their suggestions and were on point. The Saturday service was attended by Carmon's finest and the gentlemen went out of their way to be accommodating and served our needs well. Thank you so much.
