Love this place, Best bakery in the north east and maybe even Central CT area, friendly people, clean space, best breakfast sandwiches around and the pastries are fresh and deliscious. Bread is on point. I literally drive from Willimantic just to shop here and have a bite. Fair pricing just makes stopping in and trying things out a must.

Visited Poppy & Rye for the first time this morning for a quick breakfast. It’s clear why this Coffee shop/Bakery is a town favorite. The breakfast bagel sandwich was delicious and fresh. My husband loved his Apple turnover and I enjoyed my Cranberry Walnut muffin. Great overall service and the decor is soothing to the eyes.

Great taste, cozy bakery. Offers many baked goods and drinks. Has plenty of parking space as well

The turkey grinder made with homemade bread is so good also they have good passion fruit tea

Amazing bagels Breads and Pastries.Had the Pizza Bagel Breakfast Sandwich. With a large coffee.Fresh and delicious definitely recommend. 👍

Poppy and Rye in Taftville just made an amazing 1/4 double sheet vanilla cake with Bavarian cream for a wedding rehearsal dinner, and allowed me to bring berries to put in it. I ordered it in-person Wednesday late morning, and it was ready exactly when I asked it to be for 2:30 the next afternoon. It was very pretty and totally delicious! After a huge meal, all 22 guests ate every bite of their cake serving because it was so good!! (So many places are short-staffed, and this bakery is one of them, so allow a lot of time when you go in to order. They also have an amazing array of egg sandwiches, coffee, and loaves of bread, but, I haven't tried anything else yet.)

Wonderful grinders on homemade rolls. I've been back several times and have loved it each time. I have brought friends, they loved the food and remarked on how spotless this cafe is. Don't miss dessert. They are deeelicious. Umbrella tables outside, if you choose to eat there.

The cakes at Poppy & Rye are amazing. They look beautiful and taste wonderful. It's so nice to have a local bakery nearby. Wonderful breads and pastries too. We had a cake made for a large birthday party and it was a huge hit. Everybody raved about the cake. Honestly, it was the best cake I've ever had. Very impressive.

Excellent bakery. Very friendly and helpful people working here. I came here my first time for lunch, and ended up getting a breakfast sandwich because they had a variety of interesting flavors of bagels. I went for the sundried tomato bagel with sausage egg and cheese--absolutely delicious.

Also got a chocolate cupcake with raspberry filling--amazing. Clearly the frosting is made from scratch, which tells me this place is, shall we say, legit.

Love this place! Breakfast sandwiches, cakes to go, and pastries are all amazing! They even have coffee and tea to buy to make your own at home. And they have lunch options too. Great shop to support a local business.

Wonderful service and delicious food! Had the Italian sausage grinder. Everything is so fresh and they answer your questions about what each bread or bagel is. I love how welcome you feel each time you walk through the door.

Nothing short of fantastic! I go there about 4-5 times a week for coffee, bagels, muffins, etc. I’ve always had a great experience and the food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is really incredible and makes the bakery that much better! I ordered my pumpkin spice birthday cake from them and it was to die for! Highly recommend this place to everyone!

It was very busy when we stopped by to get something sweet for my husband's birthday. Service was quick and friendly. Yummy treats and don't get me started on the smell of the fresh bread! We'll be back!

Always a treat! Our favorite local bakery with a variety of pastries and sandwiches. We love their cakes for special occasions, as they are delicious and not overly sweet.

We stumbled upon this lovely shop quite by accident. Had both kids with us and were able to have a delicious lunch. The owner was super accommodating and helpful. Adorable atmosphere and scrumptious eats. Would recommend to anyone who finds themselves in the area!!!

Ok I know it's an eatery and yes, my husband's grinder and my egg sandwich were excellent ... But I'm a tea drinker from way back and all over the States and they have the BEST black tea EVER! Not flavored, not herbal, just plain old black tea steeped in a bag. Yes...this much writing just over a cup of smooth, awesome black tea.

Really cute shop. Bagel and coffee were delicious and it smelled dreamy. We were even offered a free cake on our way out which was an excellent addition to my aunt's birthday weekend. Loved it!

Excellent dine in breakfast sandwiches, muffins, coffee, tea, etc ! Hubby also had a holiday pastry/ bagel spread made to order for his store employees (20+) at Christmas time. Excellent cost and quality!
