Niantic I95 Exit 72 CT KOA

Stayed at the Niantic KOA a few times over summer, LOVE IT! The Niantic area is one of my favorite places in Connecticut and this KOA is the perfect place to stay while there. Nice, quiet campground, roomy sites with plenty of green area for the pooches. Staff is second to none, very friendly and helpful with whatever you may need. This year they completed the pool which is awesome for families. Personally, I like the beach so I take full advantage of the beach passes they offer for the town beaches. Has a good mix of seasonal, weekend/week as well as transient campers. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Good people. Good location. And good services. I got here a little late and the food cart stayed after hours so I could get a quick bite to eat. Bubbles, one of the people working here is a very salt of the earth guy and helped me get situated. I had some issues with my car and the staff helped me fix it. I stayed in one of canvas tents and the conditions were clean and well put together, which is more than I can say about some of the hotels in the area. Next time I visit Groton/Mystic area I definitely will stay here again.

First timer at koa Niantic and I was very pleased with my stay. I will definitely be returning again. The new pool was great and all the areas near by to visit and beach areas were great as well. The camp offers a shuttle service to the town and state park. Very pet friendly and above all the staff was very nice and made you feel welcomed. Nice camp ground for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors with many activities for the kids.

We were planning to be in the area on a family road trip and decided last minute to stay here. Niantic KOA exceeded our expectations in every way. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful taking the time to make sure we found and settled in to our campsite delivering wood and ice as well as extending our stay an extra day so we could enjoy the campground and near by beaches. THANK you for your hospitality we will be back!

Excellent service, sites are level and good size, new family bathrooms, site escort at checkin - setup/assistance always offered - need an extra cable/hose, they got you covered. Snack bar on weekends, shuttle service drops at local beaches, restaurants and concierge service - they have helped to get restaurant reservations with shuttle drop off. Very quiet location but still family friendly andv offer a rec room with tv and tables which is great when the weather turns. When leaving they even help with pumpouts during busy times. I can't say enough about how far this location has come and once the pool is done it will be uncomparable for a local area campground I guarantee!!!

Great stop over on our way to New Hampshire. You can never go wrong with koa's. Granddaughter had fun searching for coins and getting a treat at the store. Staff at the store was very friendly.

Loved this campground! They have great activities for the kids especially coin hunting. Our kids were also a huge fan of the fire truck rides. The staff when we arrived was so warm, welcoming and helpful. Great location too. Highly recommend if you are visiting the area and we totally plan to visit again.

Had a great stay here. Staff was super friendly from helping with set up and making sure all hook ups were sufficient to delivering wood on site for a very fair price.

Staff heavily focused on making it special for the young ones with treasure hunts, wagon/firetruck rides and daily activities.

Very close to beach and offers shuttle service or parking passes which save $40 parking fee if you're out of state.

Only down fall is no pool but we barely noticed with the ocean so close.

We already have 3 more trips booked and can't wait

We have a 40 ft Class A with tow, our site was huge, plenty of room, swing at fire pit, cable, WiFi was so so, lots of updating going on so this place in future will be great. They are getting a pool installed, and more large sites. The only thing negative is only water and electric and is $$ for that. However it’s inflation I guess. If you stay longer that 4 days they have a mobile sewer truck come by, Otherwise they do have a dump on the way out. We would stay again. Staff was very accommodating and friendly, campground is very clean.

My whole family (14 of us) needed a last minute campsite, well 3 of them and they were happy to put us all together in a nice cozy area! Outside of the rain one day, we enjoyed our time together at KOA! Bubbles is a really great addition to your staff! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The firetruck and the beach truck rides were loved by all of the kiddos (and some of the grownups too)! We will be back again some day!

They put a brand new pool in, love the kids activities, the tractor rides, scavenger hunt with coins for trade ins, bathrooms are newer and clean, definitely a favorite koa and I’ve been to a hand full!

Plenty of family friendly things to do! Pool is open and heated till columbus day! Great location near i95 but not noisy

The staff was absolutely amazing. The firewood we bought was a bit wet, later in the evening when they stopped to check in on us they noticed, they brought us drier wood at no cost. They brought the kids candy, and made it a positive and fun environment- even when they were correcting people for breaking the rules- like teens riding bikes when it was dark out. I loved the balance of the fun, friendly environment and how they approached the guests to enforce rules in such a kind way. John is seriously the best! One of the campers had parked a bit in the road and the turn for us to get out would have been a bit sharp for us newbies to pass comfortably- he ran up and asked the camper to move and helped us navigate the turn. We only stayed a night so I can’t comment too much on the grounds, but we will definitely be coming back.

Just had a fabulous weekend at Niantic KOA. It’s quiet, lovely oak trees, oversized sites and wonderful staff. John delivered and stacked our wood, got our brand new TV working (a task we haven’t been able to do!) and pumped us out with a smile. “Bubbles” is just that… a bubbly guy willing to help in any way he can. It was evident that our good time was their priority. Can’t wait to go back…… new pool and mini golf are both coming in a bit!

Another great stay! Did a sister weekend and it was a nice quite get away. Big John, Sally and Lynn in the office were great help with information and had our wood and ice delivered before we even got set up. Did some rock painting with Karen and Bingo with Bubbles. Dear John went out of his way to make sure you had everything you needed. He does a fantastic job!! Alot of laughs! Great staff!! Bathrooms were clean. Great location off the highway. If people would just follow the rules. Going 5 mph is not asking for much to keep our kids safe. Worse part was having to leave on Sunday, but we will be returning. Thank you all! Had a great time

Incredibly welcoming! We had a long term site with our 40ft 5th wheel. We have been alot of places over the years and this was hands down the best.

The staff is sincere and thorough. The grounds were always mowed/raked, they always had kind words for.me and my children, and they cared enough to enforce a slow speed limit for the kids on bikes. Which they always were!Thank you Bubbles, John, Sally, and John!!

They are working hard to renovate this property with improvements everyday. The bathrooms are always clean, the store is stocked, and the laundry machines work! I cant wait to see the resort pool next summer.

You cant beat the proximity to the beaches, with an included shuttle!Want to be dropped off with your gear up front. Hop on! Want to go into the cute town to eat? Get on!

My husband and I also took advantage of the trail systems into the state park from the campground. You could walk down to the beach in 1 mile. Also, a little path to the liqour store next door.

And the coins for the kids! Coin scavenger hunt everyday to redeem for candy.

We are truly sad to leave.

We stayed at Niantic KOA for approx. three weeks. It was the perfect location since we wanted to visit Long Island (via the New London ferry), Mystic, Newport, and Bristol. It’s conveniently right off the highway.
Our original reservation was much shorter. However, we discovered upon arrival that we had a serious mechanical issue. Our RV could not be moved w/o repair. We were very stressed since it was right before Father’s Day weekend and the campground was sold out.
John, the owner, was very understanding. He told us that he would handle it and that we would be able to stay until we were repaired. Thank goodness, since it took two weeks for the part to arrive.
I have read the other reviews and don’t understand. We found the staff friendly and very helpful. They were constantly asking if there was anything further they could do, to make our stay better. The rules are in place to ensure safety and everyone’s wellbeing. We saw them take care of some issues and they were very nice about it. Where else does the staff ride around with dog treats in their golf carts? It was raining heavily, the day that our RV was finally repaired and we were preparing to leave. The staff came out and pumped our black tank, so we didn’t have to stop at their dump station in the bad weather. Wow.
If you have kids, this is the place for you. Plenty of space for them to safely ramble, ride bikes, and there are plenty of activities for them. Where else can you ride in a real firetruck or take a hayride every day?

We love this place! We will end up returning at some point! The John that took us to our camp site is one of the main reason we will be returning. We came camping to a random spot where we knew no One and he made us feel like apart of his family! He was never anything but nice. Everyone there was so friendly, helpful and amazing. Feels like family there. My children loved the Saturday events planned and we love our shirts. The beaches near there are amazing and misquamicut was not to far and was beautiful! Thank you for all you have done for us while we were there! See you guys soon!

Great experience and amazing staff. John gave us a warm welcome and a very entertaining first night. Bingo with Bubbles was another fun part of our stay. Would definitely come back especially after given the chance to stay after a slight misunderstanding during the booking process!

Stayed for a night last weekend. Had alot of fun! The showers and bathrooms on site are wicked clean and inviting! I met my husband and friend there and coming right from work I had to shower, it was perfect. Check in for me was easy and had a great convo with the lady's in the office. It was SO hot that day but they still had smiles on there face! Site was also great! Very easy to get to as it's right off the highway. Can't wait to go back!!
