We love this place! The campground itself is nothing to write home about. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but the sites right on the pond are great. My daughter can swim all day long and we don't need to leave our site. It's super convenient if you have little kiddos. The pond is clean and very warm. The pond sites only have grey water sewer so you do need to dump. Conveniently located and very affordable.

Campgorund doesnt have all the bells in whistles but we loved it here! Activities available are awesome. Shuffle board, tennis, playgrounds, a max depth of 7 foot pond for swimming with a small beach area, spots for fishing, volleyball/backgammon net, horseshoes, and a huge pavilion for hanging out. So many sites to choose from. Reasonable rates, close to shopping yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Everyone at the campground has been very nice, polite and courteous. The camp store is small but they cover the basics. Bathrooms were rustic but very clean. We didn't use the laundry so no opinion on that. We will most definitely be a return campers.

We stayed here for 2.5 months and it was great! It’s in a nice quiet established neighborhood, no busy areas nearby. The site was large and plenty of room. The sites up the hill looked w little tighter but fine for a medium sized travel trailer. The bottom section near the river doesn’t have full hookups per se. You can use a small hose to dump Grey water then pay $15 to have your black tank pumped. This seems to be common in the area. The lake is nice, the kids enjoyed swimming and fishing. Everyone was very nice and no “problem neighbors”. We full time we we have been to dozens of RV parks. The camp store has a few things you may need, the laundry is great, the shower houses were a little more like a state park in quality than a higher end KOA. The people who work there are so sweet and kind. I highly recommend this place, it’s also less expensive than the other RV parks in the area but you don’t lose anything going down in price compared to the other places.

Quiet, peaceful campground. Beautiful grounds, well kept up. We stayed with our travel trailer just one night, a Monday night, at site 63, which was a pull-through near the office and playground. Lots of seasonal campers with very nice set ups and well-cared for sites. Pond looked pretty scuzzy, but there were children swimming there, and one child even caught a large bass. Nice laundry room and lounge, beautiful playground. Very nice place to stay. Would definitely return!

I stayed here for 3 months while on assignment for my job. The staff was awesome and I loved the atmosphere. It was laid back enough for the adults to enjoy their time but wholesome enough to feel comfortable having your children stay. The bathrooms were clean and always stocked. The coffee and breakfast sold on the weekends was excellent, decently priced, and a godsend after a long night of work. I once saw a newly arrived client harassing the young staff up front because they didn’t like the laundry sign-up. The woman was being beyond ridiculous from the get go and the young lady at the desk that day handled it with grace and unfailing politeness. Class act all the way. If I ever make it to this part of Connecticut again, this will be the place I stay.

A lot of sites and restaurants in the area. Looking forward to returning. We are in a 42 foot motor coach. Have no issues getting into the sites.

We have been here for 3 weeks and find this a quiet comfortable place to stay. Beautiful wooded setting. Close to shoreline attractions. Shopping and dinning close by. Great attitude of employees. Average internet speed. Our site was 85 it had good connections for electric, water, sewer and cable. 2 bars T-Mobile service good enough for streaming. This is our second visit to this campground.

Great little campground close enough to everything but also far enough away so it's peaceful. Everyone in the office is so incredibly nice and accommodating and Val the owner is a sweetheart!

We just finishing a week long stay and it was absolutely great. Campsites were less than 10 minutes to a gorgeous beach. The staff and guests were extremely friendly. Sites had plenty of room, and loved seeing horses from our campsite! We would love to rent a site for a month next summer.

This will b our 3rd summer here and if u like tranquility and peace the upper campground is incredible with full bathrooms and hot showers and always clean .this campground is our getaway we stay for months we work come home relax lite a fire go for walks and fish the stocked stream in back . The people who run this place are so easy and laid back and will help in any situation and the surrounding area is beautiful with our favorite pizza in town GRAND pizza is new haven za at its best ...also have hammonasset beach within I believe 2 miles from camp and is cts best known beach ... so this campground also has thier own hand made spring fed pond with sand beach which is great .they also have a great camp store a small arcade and game room for the kids and during the summer they do special events on the weekends for the kids. So in a basic nut shell we highly recommend this camp grounds ....I do write goggle reviews with closing in on 100 k views for my food and vacation spots in ct ....we highly enjoy Riverdale rv

Laid back atmosphere, no stupid quiet hours where someone walks up on you and says to be quiet at 10pm. I am a grown man for crying out loud and not myself or any other adult appreciates being treated like a child. That being said people were quiet and respectful of others into the night. There was no loud partying and carrying on. There is a rule against obnoxious behavior as there should be.

The owner and her two daughters were all extremely polite and accommodating. The first site they sent me to was not conducive to my rig and they promptly found me another one. Oh, and I was greeted immediately upon walking into the camp office.

Im not sure why some reviewers had a problem with this place. Yes the sites are packed in but you can find some larger ones and next time I come back I already have a list of nice sites I would like to request.

Just remember when someone leaves a one star review they usually leave out a lot of background information and provide a narrow view of what happened. They do not have a pool...okay well I knew that ahead of time. I think it is ridiculous to dock them a star for something they do not have. If you want to swim in other people's urine there are plenty of other places to go and pay more money to stay there. Not having a pool also helps to keep this place affordable.

Happy camping!

Nice campground set in the woods. The pond has a nice sand beach the kid loves, our site is big and there’s lots of grass areas and places to walk around. There’s an arcade, a cafe that opens on weekends and a snack shack by the pond. Pond is stocked with Bluegill, Bass and Perch, and there’s trout in the stream. Sites around the pond or by the river don’t have black tank hookups but all the others do.

We stayed for more than a week here. The facilities are great, they are well kept. More importantly, the restrooms are very clean. The owners are very friendly. We stayed around the pond area. They have tennis and basketball court and large playground. Laundry facility is also very clean. My kids enjoying fishing in the pond area. The camp site is surrounded by a small river, in which you could do fishing and swimming. You could also choose to camp near the river side, in which would be our next choice of site. The rate is reasonable as well, it include electricity ( the choices are 30 amp and 50 amp depending on the site location ), some campsite has a sewer hook up as well. Cable and wifi is also included. They also provided portable dump service for a nominal charge. We are looking forward to spent more time here.

Very impressed with this campground; compared to others we stayed at. Stayed two days in a 36ft motor home. Had a nice grassy spot near the horse area. Very well kept, nice amenities for everyone to enjoy. Our site was nice, quiet and shady with a fresh breeze blowing through the large trees in the area. Paved roads, did not like the high speed bumps on roadway as it is hard on a car in tow. Loved the flower gardens, big entertainment bldg, shuffle board pads and pond area keeping kids busy trying to catch fish with nets. Friendly staff at ckin was a pleasure sharing info we needed as visitors from Georgia in what was in the area. Highly recommend this CG for a relaxing stop or vacation. One of the best in our travels coming back from Canada. Keep up the good work.

We had the luck to be able to stay at Riverdale Farms for a 3-month work contract. Every weekend in the Summer was fun-filled with activities with loads of amazing people. Campers are very mindful to keep quiet hours at night (with the exception of Saturday- which let's face it- everyone wants to extend to the bitter end). During the week, even in the peak of Summer, the campground was quiet. It's set in a beautiful pastoral setting, with well-kept grounds. I was on the "E" loop, and never had difficulty with the utilities. The owner and her family are lovely people~ Thank you for creating a camper's haven near New Haven!
The sites near the office have new utilities and no trees (good for extended stay camping). There are areas in the woods (mostly dirt pads, but pretty), shaded grass campsites, and a few sites on the pond or near the river.

Just took our first family vacation here and it was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so kind and the staff was awesome, Bathrooms where cleaned daily multiple times and the sites are spacious and clean. Only down thing was the amount of flys and mosquitoes it was like they were fighting for bragging rights.
