Great experience! Food here is very good. The place is cozy… you can sit inside, by the bar or in enclosed porches. Service is also good. Parking is reasonable amount of spaces.

Surprised on how delicious the seafood 🍤 entrees were.

For starters we had the onion soup crock and the cream of broccoli 🥦 soup. Both very good.

I got the baked shrimp which were stuff with delicious crab 🦀 meat. Yum. My boyfriend had the cod fish which was also stuffed with crab meat.

Also splurged on dessert, banana 🍌 cream pie. Also very yummy.

The Monkey Farm is located right next to The Amtrak / shoreline train station.
We finished off our day after a train ride to Guilford - at the Monkey Farm.

It was a full house, it felt like a lot of regulars, which made for a comfortable feeling.

The bartender was busy, but made eye contact with me within a minute of standing at the bar and we ordered our beers and sat at a table on the inside porch.

I cannot rate the food, we did not eat there. But it definitely is in a great location.
They have pool tables and a spacious bar.

We had a late lunch and a drink on Saturday afternoon. Great atmosphere!!! It’s a good casual place for a bite to eat and/or a drink with friends or family. The waitress was friendly and attentive. There’s a good selection of food and there’s a full bar. It’s really easy to get to as it’s close to I-95 and the Post Road.

So nice to find a place where every dish you order from Hawaiian pizza, to lobster 🦞 mac N’cheese is phenomenal.

Outdoor tentage seating brings the taste of the food to life with the summer climate.

BEST DISH: Baked Stuffed Scallops with garlic mashed potatoes, ritz crackers, and green beans or corn on the cob 🌽

Yes I gave it five stars, and that's not because it's fine dining or has a Michelin star. It's a bucket list type of place. If you're longing for a bar / restaurant out of the history books this is the place. It's dark but homey and even classy in a way all its own. It always seems to be busy and full of locals, which tells you something right there. This is not a place you bring kids to, it's just not. But the adult crowd that frequents is cheerful and friendly. You'll probably leave here making new friends. The Monkey Farm is a classic. And the food is great.

Good food, Cash only, reasonable price
Loved our Friday dinner here. The bar area was very busy, we sat outside of the bar area. It’s a moderate size restaurant. Food is very good. Staffs are friendly. We had Potato skins, Chili soup, Roast beef melt sandwich, Hot Italian Combo Grinder, Fresh Grilled Salmon with potato & Broccoli. All items were delicious. The sandwich & grinders were very good, It’s pure food not too much added condiments. They accept cash only. There is an ATM inside. Food price is reasonable & big portions. Additional Parking is available at the back of the restaurant. I recommend this restaurant.

This was my first time here. I was accompanied by a couple of friends who had eaten there a few times before and highly recommended it. The Appearance on the outside is quite simple of this good size structure. It also has an old country style look on the inside. The menu is huge with large variety of selections. I had stuffed baked shrimp with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Delicious! My company shared 2 dishes, salmon and a 12 ounce burger. That came from the kitchen in separate plates already divided up for two to eat. Great service! I highly recommend it a m d plan repeat visits.

Do not let the cash only policy scare you away! The parking lot is easy to manage. We were greeted by a giant monkey in the arcade. You get to chose where to sit. There are some high top tables as well as regular settings. There was also sitting outside. Our waitress was Jade. She was nice. The food was fantastic! The wings are wonderful and crispy and a good size. We ordered a hamburger, Italian grinder and a Philly cheesesteak. They all tasted great. For dessert we shared a chocolate pie. I would really describe it as a cake with creme cheese (maybe) filling. We will definitely return.

Checked out this place on a rainy Sunday morning. Our server was nice & the food was good! Reminder that this is a cash only place, there is an atm available inside, parking is also available!

I would encourage everyone to do this. It was amazing! The people are wonderful and so helpful. They made us feel right at home. I had the best horse, Blitz he was a gentle giant. Thank you for A wonderful adventure.

Excellent food didn’t like nothing on tap but it was a nice feeling drinking bottle beer for a change old style great place

I just love Monkey Farms "Cobb Salad", I order everytime I go down town to Old Saybrook. I highly recommend this salad or just about anything else on the menu!

Always have a great experience here. I lean toward their sandwiches although I've also had scallops before and they were incredible. Sandwiches are great. Outstanding burgers and Reubens. Always generously portioned. Several seating options. By the bar, in the enclosed wrap around porch or outside, which looks like a great option in evenings &/or for bigger groups. Staff is always efficient. Bar is usually lively. Cash only w ATM on-site.

Love the place I had Ribeye salad was very good!
