Torrington Tax Department City Office

The representative I spoke to was extremely helpful and understanding even though I was clearly perturbed and had contacted the wrong place to begin with. After speaking with several other CT tax departments today, you were the best by far. Thanks and have a very happy new year.

I am so impressed with women in each department headed by our mayor. We are new to CT again and everyone is friendly, professional and first place I lived in where property tax went down a year after buying the place.

They need to collect money from those who live in Torrington and register their cars in another state. They do nothing about it , including mayor Carbone.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. This is the second time I have received important information well over 4-6 weeks after the letter is dated. I spoke with Krissy who, when asked about issues with paying online proceeded to mutter “oh my f’n god” loud enough that I could hear it. She did not even look into the matter and simply stated “well nobody else has complained so it’s obviously working”. Offered no assistance and basically just told me to figure it out.

Worst personal service ever. I have been fighting with them for years over tax bills that don’t belong on their grand list. Every time I go there they tell me I need something new. Had my acct frozen twice. And by far the most rude people ever!!

Just received a tax bill for a vehicle I traded in when I moved to VA in 2011. The tax office had told me that everything was fine and disregard the bill. Now, 7 years later, I find out that the city charged me interest for all that time. I have been stationed in Japan now for over 3 years, prior to that I was in VA and TN. Could we have some accountability for the people in tax department?

They continued trying to charge me for a vehicle tax for 2 years after leaving the state of CT. Yall tax your citizens enough without trying to swindle more out of them.

Went into my checking account and froze my account and took my money. Without telling me .
