Very fresh and authentic Italian cuisine... the sandwiches are picture worthy but you won't take one before you finish it!

From start to finish this place was AMAZING!!! I called late December for a Christmas party catering order. Tom was helpful, so pleasant, and put together a an incredible menu with me! Did I mention he made sure to fit in my budget? Day of, pickup was easy, the whole staff was friendly and welcoming. Now to the star though, THE FOOD! I personally was given shining accolades and made sure to give all the credit to my guys in Newington!!! You’re stuck doing every party I have now lol I appreciate everything so much!

Fresh, friendly, and tasty! I had chicken noodle soup, salad, and some pastry. Not only was the food fantastic it was priced well too! Definitely going back.
I made a spicy eggplant sauce for the gnocchi... so good!

Five stars for the chicken cutlet grinders alone. Don't think I've had a better cutlet in the region. They will customize your sandwich any way you like, and also have a really nice selection of both fresh and frozen prepared foods like broccoli rabe, eggplant parm, chicken parm, arancini, macaroni/potato salads, etc. Staff has always been incredibly friendly and quick. Prices are fair. A complete gem.

I don't always write reviews but this place deserved it. This was my first time ordering from them and they catered a surprise party I had thrown for my mom and WOW. From the service to the food everything was amazing. All of my guests loved the food and selection, everything tasted great and fresh. The trays were beautifully done and they even let us borrow there heat carrier to keep the food warm until we were ready to put it out. We will absolutely be getting from this place again. I am so happy we found them!

I used to take my mom to a luncheon they catered years ago, and the food was always delicious. So good, in fact, that I had to ask who the caterer was. It seems like whenever I mention this place, tucked away behind Yanni's, everyone knows exactly where it is and knows how great the food is!

Went there this morning to get a quick breakfast and as always, it was ready in a jiffy and super yum. I got an egg and pepper jack cheese sandwich on a hard roll with a hashbrown stuffed in there - it definitely brightened a rainy, gloomy morning. When I got home, about ten minutes away, it was still hot and perfect. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. They are always ready to go the extra mile and put together whatever you like for your order.

Everyone who works here is super nice and they all have great personalities, and they know their stuff. They are always quick to make suggestions and more than willing to answer all my questions. I've had more than one chat while waiting for an order (I'm too lazy to call in ahead!)

Their soup from the case is good too. I knew I was going to have dental work done, so I stocked up on a few buckets of frozen soup. While I was recovering, it was so easy to heat up and so comforting!

This is one of my favorite places for a quick bite - would give 6 stars if I could.

Great large Italian grinder, the tortellini salad and lemoncello mascapone cake for dessert was just amazing for a take out luch for 2. Totally glad I took the gamble at coming in for something fast for food in the area that wasn't fast food. Most definitely coming back when in the area.

Would have took photos but way too hungry and tasted too good lol.

These sandwiches are delicious! I got the house wrap pressed and my boyfriend got a BLT. Both were amazing!

This place is amazing. The baked goods are great and the sandwiches are amazing. My wife and I usually get sandwiches here when we want to eat out. I won't mention the chicken cutlets because I am sure everyone already knows..... but just in case, THEY ARE AMAZING! I get them for my daughter and son whenever we come in. He is 1 but he knows a good cutlet when he sees one and she loves them with honey mustard. We used them for catering recently. The sandwich platter was HUGE and they gave us amazing condiments. Please dont ever change, you are the best!!!!

What a great Friday lunch treat. Wife and I shared the house special grinder. The cutlets and other ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The added vinegar provided nice tang. We're coming back. Oh the Google online ordering and payment was easy!

Great food! Sausage and peppers, stuffed shells, roasted vegetables and the rice pilaf were a hit! Large order was also properly delivered and hot. They had the order perfect as well. I highly recommend! Thank you.

8/13/2020 - I just picked up my first online order here. I loved the site/form where I placed the order. They give you options like how much roast beef you'd like on your sandwich. I picked "light" because they always give you more than you can eat...very generous people.😄 I received an email immediately with a QR code to utilize at pick up. I walked in a few minutes early and my sandwich was ready at the exact time they promised. During this time of pandemic protocols, the Italian Gourmet does it right. Where else can you get the best sandwiches in the state AND feel comfortable that they are doing what they can to mediate a virus. I recommend them. Lets give them our support and help them to keep everyone safe. Customers should not have to be reminded to wear a mask. Just do it.

this is such an amazing hidden gem!! you feel like your going to a friends house when you get food there. the people behind the counter are fun and interactive and they make a mean grinder or wrap. i have not tried there fresh foods but if its even close to there chicken cutlets it has to be amazing!!!!

We just used them for catering for a picnic. Had assorted sandwiches and wraps, stuffed shells, Caesar salad, and tortellini salad. Everything was delicious!!!! Everyone kept asking where the food was from. Punctual delivery, very reasonable prices. We will definitely use again in the future!!

A regular stop for me at least 2 a week...the breakfast sandwiches and wraps are really good and fairly priced. The sandwiches are made fresh and are always good. Highly recommend a buffalo chicken wrap on a tomato wrap or one of their daily hot lunch/dinner specials.

By far the absolute best Reuben I have ever eaten. I love this place. Their hot lunch specials are the best in the area. Great sandwiches as well. This place is one of those local gems that never disappoints. The staff is great too!
