A wonderful local game store with a great selection of RPG books, accessories, and more! I came in hoping to grab a starter set for some games and had a great time browsing their huge catalogue of games. Bonus points for being part of the Bits and Mortar program, so I also got a free PDF version of the starter set I bought!

House of Books and Games is an amazing book and games store that has the best prices in Hartford County (probably in all of CT!). A paperback book only costs $3 dollars, and most games cost $5. You can even get a deck of cards and poker chips for $1!

They have an amazing selection of books and games, with all genres of books and types of games (they have some amazing RPGs!). My favorite is the Choose Your Own Adventure books from the 80s, they're so fun!

The owners, Amy and Burt, are very friendly and will help you whenever you need it. I never feel as if I am pressured to buy something, and the store has a very inviting and cozy feel to it.

Overall, House of Books and Games is a great store because of their low prices, good selections, friendliness, and inviting atmosphere.

A new favorite bookstore! Amy was so kind and welcoming. My fiance and I had never been and we honestly didn't expect to find much. But we left with 12 books in hand and pure joy! We will definitely be returning (once we read some of these and make room for more lol).

Nice local game shop and used book store. Great selection of board games with really good prices. Also, a good selection of RPG books for various systems (D&D, Pathfinder, etc.). They even have some obscure systems like GURPS, TFT, T&T, etc. It's a great place to browse.

The used bookstore has books of every genre, including some science fiction and fantasy. It's small, but has a good selection. Strongly recommended.

This is a great book store. A fantastic inventory in a cozy footprint. Amy and Burt have always gone out of their way to ensure a pleasant shopping experience for my son and I. I have never felt any sales pressure while shopping and that is a big check in the plus column for me. Finding new homes for great used book is something I can get 100% behind. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not shopping at this store. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Wonderful little store with a wide selection of books that I haven't seen anywhere else. While unfortunately I do most of my reading on my Kindle now, they had a very large selection of fantasy novels that I was excited to see. The games section too was great and had a lot of books and supplementary content for both 5e and older editions of D&D, which was awesome to see as well.

An amazing local bookstore and game shop! The owners are friendly and welcoming, always willing to help out. Their game selection is fantastic, with a lot of new expansions of popular games available for very reasonable prices.

The shop is split into two halves, a book section and a game section, which is a neat set up. And they use the space very well, with an organized layout.

Since most of their books are used, it's always a rolling inventory and they get new stuff in all the time. On the game side of the shop, they also have a lot of TTRPG materials for most big game systems. I've found old DnD core rulebooks here going back to Advanced DnD, which is awesome!

Small shop packed to the brim with used books and games (And some new stuff too) for prices so low they should be criminal. The store owners are involved with day-to-day operations and really take the chance to make their customers feel welcomed.

Absolutely recommend, great selection on site, they're involved in their community, and they jump through hoops to help everyone out that walks through their doors!

Also, if you have any old books you don't think you'll read anymore, they do accept donations.

Update: They've expanded to the store front next door! Now there's the original location full of books, plus a new, extended store front chalk-full of awesome board games and RPG supplements!

We ordered 15 copies of All We Can Save for our book club and House of Books and Games gave us a great price and their service is top notch. They kept us updated on our order and are just wonderful to interact with! Will definitely be returning 😊

I was able to visit this absolutely delightful store over this past weekend. The owners were amazing, there was a wide selection of used books and games. The boardgame section is what I really went for, and it more than met my expectations, the owners were knowledgable and helpful....not to mention the prices were better than any I have seen online. Can't wait to go back and add to my collection!

I was surprised to see that they were selling Oath, a board game that I've been eyeing ever since its release. On top of that, the price was discounted heavily. The owners were very accommodating and friendly; I would definitely recommend this store to anyone who is looking to pick up some good, possibly uncommon, board games.
