PennDOT Driver License Center

This is not Zootopia! Went for Real ID renewal /photo. Arrived 0830 (opening) and there was a decent line. But they had the line taken care of by 0840. My number was called about 2 minutes after that, documents processed, photo taken, forms signed. I commented to the photo person that was fast, and she just smiled. No time for comment; she had already had called the next number. I was walking out at 0846.

Actually was in and out in no time at all. Normally takes as long as the emergency room at the hospital. Friendly people that will help and take care of you the best that they can.

Was there as soon as they opened on Saturday. There was already a long line outside the door, within 20 minutes the line was taken care of. The employees working there were helpful, polite, as well as surprisingly patient.

Plenty of negative posts. Hint for a great experience. Go M-Th anytime. Hours are wrong on Google Maps. Always check the actual website or call if hours look wacko. Took my grandson to get his permit. Waited about 30 seconds to be seen. Total time in and out 10 min. Don't complain on your experience if you are not prepared. Read the requirements. Staff is normal government employee politeness, (I don't understand the don't smile or be nice to anyone policy)

I wouldn't call the guy at the front desk friendly, but he was professional and efficient and not unpleasant. The other folks I dealt with, reviewing my paperwork and getting my photo taken, were extremely friendly. I was in and out in 25 minutes for my license renewal. Who would've ever thought that renewing a drivers license could be positive experience. Good job, York Penn Dot office!!

I got my license there today and the examiner was super nice! I had a very pleasant experience at this location.

Best experience I have ever had renewing my driver's license. Was in and out in 10 minutes and even have friendly people working there.

I was in and out in 30 minutes this morning. Everyone was super helpful efficient and polite. I had paid for a photo ID card online to renew my driver's license but it never came in the mail and they helped me out very quickly!

Depending on when you go and what you have to do, you can be in and out of there pretty quick. I recommend coming here early on a weekday. Guy behind the counter was friendly and professional

Small, efficient a d friendly. However, I was there when it was uncrowded.

Best time to go is on Tuesday afternoon... they weren't crowded at all. I was here last Friday and it was packed so this was a pleasant surprise. I was in and out in under 30 minutes and the gentleman helping me was a doll. I'm from CT & our DMV in Wethersfield in always a nightmare, the PennDOT License Center is the only thing in PA I've found to like so far.

Miles and the gentleman at the first counter were friendly and helpful.

Spent about an hour here on a Wednesday (11:15-12:15). They moved pretty quickly considering the place was packed. I was honestly expecting to spend much longer there. Staff was very friendly and were cracking jokes. Definitely one of the better experiences I’ve had at any DMV.

I went to this location for a license yesterday - just wanted to give people a heads up that there are long lines at this time. I arrived at 10AM and got my license just before 1PM. 5-star review is because all the staff I interacted with were professional and polite, they are doing their best for all the customers. On another note the line was shorter when I left, so maybe the afternoon is a good time (However, the man who processed my license said that they are not serving anyone who is not inside the door at 4:30PM, which means that there is still an outside line at that time)

Actually quite quick for a Saturday afternoon. The employees were very nice and informative. Good day accomplishing what I had to do!

The wait wasn't that bad. I was there on a Saturday around 2pm. The thing I enjoyed the most is that you can now pay with a credit card or debit card as well as a check. That in my eyes is a game changer.

Just moved from MD to PA and needed to get a license. Upon arriving I was greeted promptly and very sweetly by the lady at the front desk. She was very helpful, fast, and knew exactly what she was doing. All the encounters I had with employees specifically Terrance was very nice and made it a swift process, it makes going to get your license not such a drag.

I’ve seen some of the comments in regards to half hour wait times and I’ve come from Maryland where the wait time is literally hours. They moved fast and provided the information needed to complete the licensing process.
