Pennsylvania Department of Transportation - Photo License Center, South York

I went today and the whole place was like a well-oiled machine. Every person on staff was helpful and kind.
The PA DOT needs to make sure they keep the people working here. Well done by everyone!

Stopped by here to get my son, his first picture license and had such a great experience! From the time that we checked in and got our number, we were there for about a total of 15 minutes, may be less than that! They had everything well organized. It was a very busy location, like most of them, but our experience was great. The young man that was working at the photo licensing desk was super sweet, very friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice experience for visiting a DMV.

Myles is the best person to go to when visiting York, PA driver’s license location. He is kind and very helpful.

We went pretty late and thought they would be closed. We walked in the door literally at 4:05pm. They gave us the form needed for new resident license and by the time we filled them out our number was called. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. They had us out the door with our new licenses in under one hour. They don't do real ID but they inform you how to go online and order it.

The lady working the front where you get a ticket for a number so you can be seated is so Sweet. This isn't the first awesome encounter I've had with her. She is super helpful and greeted Everyone that came through the door. I appreciate her help and she made my experience here on a busy friday afternoon worth it.

My experience here was excellent. I was there to take my driver's license test and my instructor Marci was excellent. She was very pleasant and clear with her instructions on the test. The test times were running behind slightly, but Marci was very helpful and efficient. She is an excellent instructor and employee here!

In light of covid19, this DMV location has really stepped up and is nailing it. It is such a challenge to work in that environment, and everyone was super pleasant, upbeat, efficient. I didn't feel that my wait was that long. It was very clean. A gentleman was walking around with disinfectant, ready to wipe down surfaces after use. The presence of the security guard seemed discreet, but made the environment seem safe without aggressive or frightening behavior. I got all my answers and more.

went in @ 1202 hours on 8/13/15 and took number 718. They were on 707 when I arrived. Waited approximately 12 minutes when they called my number. Clerk was professional and license renewal was completed in less than 5 minutes. He returned my papers and asked me to have a seat to be called for my photo. I waited approximately 5 minutes before being called. The photo clerk was cordial and professional and I waited less than 3 minutes for my renewed license. I was in my car and on way to store in less than 25 minutes. Well done today, PennDOT staff.

Remember folks: Proper Previous Planning Prevents Poor Performance. Go prepared!

I was in and out within 5 minutes. Cheris at the front desk sent me directly to Amanda at the photo desk. Amanda took my picture, showed it to me and then I sat down to wait. I didn't have time to read. My new license was ready and I was out the door. AMAZING SERVICE...thank you Cheris and Amanda!

The " Gatekeeper" lady in Gettysburg is the worst. Nothing but problems, definite power trip. They wonder why people that work at DMVs have the reputation they do, she's why. Left in frustration, went directly to the York office. No problems there at all, great people, easy peasy. And no armed security guy in full tactical gear like the one in Gettysburg- there's an obvious reason why he's needed there...

Had a good experience at the DMV on Queen Street in York, PA today. They are very organized, and get you in and out very quickly. Plus, the workers that I encountered today were super friendly and helpful.

Didn't have to wait long and the staff was very efficient and helpful. Got my PA class C driver's license (Russell has to wait for his Real ID one.)

I was there yesterday with my son to get his permit. Very well organized and ran very smooth do to the COVED-19 they had to space everyone out and the lines where very long but it went fairly quick. Staff was great and on top of everything.

The staff was very courteous. My son's examiner was very nice and gave clear directions. Come on a thursday fore noon / early afternoon. Not as busy.

Joyce!!!! I took my driving test with Joyce and she was phenomenal and kind and direct with her commands. She said incredibly helpful things like to watch out for certain cars and that I was doing certain things really well. She was calm and positive and a real joy to be tested by. I passed really easily and everything inside went EXTREMELY quickly. Even though the DMV was packed, I got my photo taken immediately and waited all of 5 minutes for my License. The women at the photo station with Purple hair was super nice as well, as was the man giving out tickets when you first walk in. I have literally never had a better experience at a DMV and I would recommend others to test here.

DONT GO TO MALVERN ESPECIALLY IF YOU SEE LARRY

I wouldn't visit this place unless it was absolutely necessary
I my case it was because I needed my driver's license renewed.
Without that requirement I would avoid this place just like any other governmental facility. It is full of bureaucratic functionaries and fellow apparratchniks most of whom serve no useful purpose other than to waste taxpayer dollars.
Why does a photo license center need an armed guard???

Great employees all around!! The photo techs were very helpful and pleasant. The Dle's worked fast to make sure everyone was happy.

Was skeptical with all the bad reviews about rude employees. Had a fantastic experience and was able to get a new license the same day after i lost my old one. The lady at the front geeted my very nicely and rebeccah did a fantastic job handling my situation.

Went twice. Both times person at front desk very polite and smiling. Can be very busy, however they do get the people through in a decent time.

Lines moved relatively quick, and employees were not rude. In my experience with the dmv as an adult I've seen a few from different states. This one was pleasant.
