We hired Rick's Home Improvement to do interior painting as well as fix our roof. Chad, the owner was great to work with. He was professional and responsive and went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right. We are very happy with the work provided by Chad and his team and would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects.

Rick's Home Improvements have done several things for my old house, including a full wrap on my 2nd floor bay window and emergency roof repairs. Most recently, we had a leak from our roof. There was bad weather in the forecast, so Chad came out prior to the repairs to do a temporary fix on the roof leak because he knew it would help calm my nerves until the final repairs were completed. I don't think we'll ever use any other contractor again. He's the very best.

Work is always done quickly, efficiently, and cleanly. Chad's crew is personable and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. The estimates for work are very clear. Prices are great for the work that is being done.

Chad, the owner, was very friendly and professional. They offer a good value. They were very flexible and accommodating to my needs, schedule, and could adjust to the scope of the work. They were very knowledgeable and could tackle a variety of different types of projects. These guys really take pride in their craft. They were willing to do what it takes to get the job done right. Chad was amazing to work with, came out the day after contacting him to repair a deck for the closing on a property I was selling. Due to the urgency needed chad was able to come back the same week and complete the job! Constant communication, reasonable pricing, and honesty with what needed to be done were great! Thanks again!

Awesome job. I was having problem with my roof it was constantly leaking. I had called multiple roofing companys and got some pretty high priced estimates. And some companys were telling me i had major problems with my roof and that i would have to replace the whole roof. Luckily i had got intouched with ricks home improvements. They came out gave me some estimates that were clearly the lowest. They came out explain everything that was wrong took pictures.they made my life so much easier they explain everything in clear detail so i would understand what the problems were and took care of the job just in a few days for half the cost compare to other companys. Its been two years and my roof hasnt leaked since. Thank you guys so much!!!

They did an amazing job on my bathroom in almost no time at all. And they are very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this company.

Took over six months to finally come out and do half the job agreed to do. Not overly impressed. Owner is nice just not quick

EDIT: I'm changing this to 1 star. After about 5 months my window leaking problems returned. I was so disappointed with the work and interactions the first times that I made temporary repairs myself and then hired a different contractor to do the repair work as some battles aren't worth fighting. Upon removing the aluminum metal window wrapping that was installed by Rick's the poor workmanship came to light. The original metal wrapping was never removed from the windows as it should have been and was stated in the contract, it was instead just wrapped over top of. None of the wrapping was flush or held together properly, there were gaps between pieces of the metal and also the flashing (likely a source of water), and at one location a 1/2" gap was just bridged with caulk instead of properly bending and securing the metal to name a few of the issues relayed to me about the work that had been done previously. END EDIT

I will start this review with the positives. The guys who came out to do the work were very friendly and the job foreman seemed to honestly take pride in his work. In addition to that once the job was done they did follow up as necessary to remedy lasting issues. The work when completed was also satisfactory. It is not top of the line but it got the job done effectively and for a reasonable price all of which was no less than expected and agreed upon.

Now the reason for the low review is solely due to poor communication and customer service. Each and every time the workers were either late or I was not communicated back to in regards to the time they would be showing up. Luckily I have a flexible work schedule and could make it work but others may not be so lucky. In addition to that communication with Chad grew spotty as the time went on. He would say he would get back to me with information and I would patiently wait 5-7 days and get no response. This occurred multiple times and made scheduling the work and getting updates on ordered materials difficult. In one of this situations upon my own follow up after unanswered questions and messages 7 days after the original proposed date I received a very unprofessional and rude response. This message was defensive and rude about the reasons why there was a lack of communication, scheduling and updates. It was completely unnecessary as through the entire process I had been nothing but understanding and patient long after most people would be. All of this after a job had to be postponed weeks (note the reason for postponement was the factory's fault but I was promised follow up AS SOON AS the factory remedied the situation). In addition to this the proper color of caulk was not communicated to the workers and part of the work had to be done with mismatching colors that looked bad. It took multiple follow ups to get that remedied as well. I am very understanding that issues come up and things get crazy but that is no excuse for treating customers in a rude and unprofessional manner when asked about follow ups that were promised.

They simply don't follow up. I originally contacted them 5/26, they called back and spent an hour at my house 5/28 (I have lots of jobs). A quote was promised by 6/2. when nothing came I called 6/3. Their estimator had no idea who I was but after a conversation remembered me and said the quote was mostly done and I would have it 6/4. Nothing came. On the morning of 6/5 I called back and again, Robert had no idea who I was. After remembering me again, I was told the quote was done and it would be sent in about a half hour. Nothing. I called back 6/9 - no idea who I was (unreal). This time I'm told that the quote was lost and he had nothing in his system and he would need to come back and look at everything again on Thursday 6/11. On 6/11 at noon I called and reached his brother who told me Robert would call back in a few minutes - nothing. At the end of the day I called again and (guess what) no idea who I was. This time he starts to tell me he is really busy and does not know if he will make it to my house on Thursday. He said maybe tomorrow (Friday). I told him I was not available Friday but could meet him anytime the next week. Well it's now Wed afternoon and I've heard nothing. With three weeks down the drain, I am finally giving up because if they are this unreliable during the quote stage I can only imagine what might happen during actual work. In summary - unless you love frustration, look elsewhere.

Rick's Home Improvements. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Very unprofessional. When I first called to schedule an estimate the person answered “hello”. No professional greeting. I wasn’t sure if this was a company or a private person’s number. RED FLAG. I scheduled an estimate anyway. Day of the estimate, NO CALL, NO SHOW from this company. I called to see if they were still coming. The person who answered sound like he had been still asleep, same unprofessional greeting for a business. The person puts me on hold for three minutes. The line went dead, I called back. I was told the person who does the estimates wasn’t available….At this point, I stated I would find another company. I was met with a negative attitude from the person I was talking with. I was told to “find another company because they don’t need my business”. This is not how you run a business. I’m a potential customer looking to pay you, why would this company be so unprofessional? Who turns down work??? I called this company because of the reviews….please read this review before you waste your time.
