Mid 1800s farmhouse on Duck Harbor Pond, full of interesting things, such as furniture, lots of varied smalls and assorted oddities ...

Beautiful setting and a great old 1800's farm house to explore, full of neat things.

Charming store on gorgeous Duck Harbor Pond, just minutes from downtown Honesdale but absolutely a world away. I drove in on a whim when I saw the sign on the side of 191 heading south into Honesdale. It's about a mile from the main road on wide and extremely well-maintained dirt roads. You pass a historical site, an old grist mill, on the way in. I thought I had taken every possible side road and discovered every possible out of the way antique shop, but this was a wonderful surprise, made even more special by the location. It is an old farmhouse with the store taking up just about every available room on multiple floors, including the bathroom which is available to customers. The collection of items for sale was wonderfully curated, ranging from turn of the century Golden oak dressers and slant-top desks to a 1960s-era illuminated map/time zone clock by Howard Miller, jewelry, vintage accessories, housewares and sundries. Local artisanal products were also for sale, including maple syrup from the neighboring farm and homemade organic liquid soaps that smelled divine. Prices were *extremely* reasonable. I could have browsed in there for at least an hour, but I didn't have a lot of time. I would happily, happily return, and possibly bring a book to read on their porch, as the two fellows who owned the business were extremely warm and friendly. There was also a very affectionate, loudly-purring orange marmalade cat outside who I need to pay another visit to. I can't emphasize enough how absolutely BEAUTIFUL the location of this store is. It's easy to get to and well worth the detour.

Took almost 1hr to get there. Walked in & had to turn & leave.
I told a woman the smell was upsetting me. She said they had just cooked cauliflower & broccoli. In small rooms it was overpowering. It looked like there might be things of interest. Just call first & ask what they're cooking.
