Great hiking spot tucked away in the woods, could double as a fun picnic spot for the family as they have tables near the parking area. I was there for hiking this time and let me tell you an absolute delight of a trail, lots of different levels from beginner to advanced options with signs posted for easier access to waterfall. The waterfall is just a short 10-15 minute walk from the parking area. I thoroughly enjoyed this trail and I hope you do as well.

Beautiful falls, multiple trails, and nature as far as you can see , and the sounds of nature. They have camp sites, grills and picnic tables, even a pavilion with multiple tables for parties. I photographed a wedding here in afternoon last year which was gorgeous, many locals gave HS servos portraits done here.

I take my daughter on a yearly camping trip here every summer. I have a lot of fond memories at this park over the past 15 years and im glad to see it so well taken care of. The cabins are awesome!

Gorgeous scenery, easy to hike. Campgrounds amongst the near ancient hemlocks. 100% will be camping here again!

Fantastic park. The little welcome center was cute and informative. And the trails were well maintained.

Great small park in north eastern pa! If you are in the area definitely worth a stop.

It is a great state park with a variety of options to explore. There are several trails and multiple waterfalls, camping areas, benches/resting areas, and a fenced-in garden. Parts of the trails are a little more difficult in steepness and the amount of roots & rocks. There are also areas within the trails that are get flooded easily, so hiking boots/good footwear is recommended. Due to the number of bugs, I would highly recommend being bug spray.

A gorgeous park with lots of hiking trail options! There are some very cool large boulders a bit off the path, up a steep hill. If you are up for the challenge, it's worth climbing up and exploring them. There is a gorgeous view at the top.
We found a few tiny orange salamanders on our hike, which I just wanted to share a picture of.
The waterfalls are very gorgeous as well. I'd love to revisit in the summer when I can walk in the water.

Beautiful park, great trails for everyone, so much fun!

We took a brief hike up the Falls Trail and back the Gorge train and enjoyed the entire route! Our little pup came along and was leashed the whole time, as is required in the park.

We saw a few other bikers on the trail, but it wasn't crowded. The sun and air were hot but the breeze and shade were cool. We even saw a bunch of different fungi around the forest floor! It was the perfect day for a hike in NEPA

Absolutely beautiful park to spend the day at. Gorgeous waterfalls basically at the entrance of the park. Trails that dip and weave into the forest on clearly marked paths. Lots to see and plenty of photo opportunities. Plenty of parking and restrooms on site. Meticulously maintained. Absolute must stop at if you are in the area.

Always beautiful and a great hike with fantastic views! Went for the first time in a few months today and we were excited to see the new bridge over the gorge for easier access to the Hemlock Trail. What a great gift to the community 😊

Absolutely lovely. Feels like it's part state-park, part family homestead! We had a wonderful time camping and exploring. There was a wedding on one of our nights there, so it might be the first time I ever camped to the sound of 80's dance tunes, but the event didn't run too late and it added to that "family homestead" feel. Word of caution about the trails: apparently major flooding from some time ago has left some changes we didn't anticipate and it looks like the area near the salt spring has been cut off from direct access. When we went up the gorge trail, we returned on the hemlock trail and expected to be able to cross fall brook in some way to get back. But there was no way to cross fall brook without going in the water. Considering I only had one pair of hiking shoes with me and didnt dare get them wet, I took them off, rolled up my pants, and walked across the stream. My estimate of the water temperature is probably 40 degrees! Considering the ambient temp was around 50, that was COLD and my feet didn't get their color back for an hour! Still, it was fun and beautiful and I would happily do it all again.

One of our favorite places to hike, the whole park is beautiful.

Edit* we've visited since the flooding and the creek trail is completely different, so much more open. Absolutely love this park. Adding photos of how it looks now.

Beautiful park for hiking and wading in a river. I took my grandchildren who are 13 and 9 years old. Myself being in my early sixties, we decided to take the blue "handicapped accessible " trail. It was still difficult because of the terrain, tree roots and a few logs you had to climb over. It would be still difficult for someone with mobility issues or to push a stroller or wheel chair on this trail. It was still worth the climb. Just be advised if you think it would be easy if you are disabled in any way or taking small children in a stroller.

A great place to hike. Trails are decently marked, fairly flat (except from the very beginning), and not very technical. One trail follows into another, and you can take Woodland, Gorge, Wetland, Overlook, Fall Brook trails as one loop that circles the creek going on both sides of it. There are hunters in the area, so don't worry if you hear shots. Nobody is hunting near trails, since there is not much wildlife around.

All dirt roads in this park. Most are good but avoid the further out Salt Spring Road and western part of Buckley Road. They are rugged.
I was surprised by the number of open fields in this park and there are 17 trails listed on the park map. There's also a nice waterfall on one of the trails.
The cabins and camping sites are few in number but they feel remote and peaceful.

Come for the hike, and stay for the waterfalls. There is a lot that is offered beyond these attractions (for instance the picnic areas and the playground), and it is free. This is a matter of some consideration in this case. This is the rare example of a state park that could really, genuinely use a few bucks, as its funding is not derived from tax dollars (so few of which are required for the upkeep of parks that benefit all, but I digress). So, by all means, check it out, enjoy your visit, and toss a coin to your bewitcher in this valley of plenty.

Lots of easy to medium trails. No modern restrooms. Lots of picnic areas. Beautiful place. Friends of Salt Springs maintain the original Wheaton family house as a museum.
