Better Than We Could Imagine!

Restart Homes is fantastic. We’ve had some bad experiences with contractors in the past and Restart was a much needed breath of fresh air. They took care of everything from start to finish, and now we have a kitchen and powder room better than we could have imagined. We highly recommend working with Restart Homes and are very thankful for their amazing service.

ReStart Home Renovations transformed our underused formal living room, office, and half bathroom into a luxurious main floor master bedroom suite with huge walk in closet and incredible walk in shower and soaking tub. We were so impressed with Scott and his team from the beginning- with the integrity, craftsmanship, and communication every step of the way. It is rare these days to find someone that will stay with you as their sole project from beginning to end, that will show up when stated, keep a clean worksite, do things WELL, and stay on budget!

When we first contacted Scott last year, we knew we wanted a main floor master suite, but was unsure as to room design, flow, finishes, or even dimensions. He came out to see the space, take measurements, and we discussed our dreams for the space. He took our thoughts and came back to us with two floor plans. His wife Jessica is a talented designer and created several mood boards from which to choose. They created an accurate 3D rendering that enabled us to see how our space would ultimately look.

Our project included renovating the existing fireplace and creating a custom mantle and surround; heated tile floors in herringbone pattern; reworking plumbing and electrical; custom wood accent wall; painting all the existing and new trim and crown molding; new wood floors that match our existing; removing part of the staircase banister and trim to create wall for new entrance into master suite; building tile shower with bench, rain shower and dual showerheads; barn doors; double door entrance; sconces; vanity and medicine cabinets; and much much more.

The whole process was relatively stress free for us-- which is quite an accomplishment for a home renovation project, let alone one on this scale. We highly recommend ReStart Home Renovations and plan to use them again for any future projects. We have zero complaints or suggestions to how they could even improve their services-- they were that wonderful. Thank you for our dream space, Scott and Jessica! We hired Scott Holwick from Restart Home Renovations to remodel our first floor: kitchen, dining room, powder room, living room. We are completely satisfied and LOVE the end result!! It really couldn’t be better! It looks like it’s straight out of a magazine (many of our friends made this comment too!). Not only does it look good at first glance, but if you look closely, you can see that the work is done with excellence. The painting is perfect with completely smooth walls & ceiling and perfect lines for ceiling cut-in and trim. The cabinets, flooring, doors, and molding are straight and square and there are no gaps where there shouldn’t be. In addition to looking good, everything works exactly as it should. HVAC, plumbing, and electric were all re-worked correctly, to code, and with the proper permits & inspections. Scott does all the work himself except for demo and granite installation. He was SO great to work with and he made the whole process completely stress-free. From the time of my initial inquiry to the time we received a detailed quote was a total of about two weeks (included an in-person meeting at my home). The quote was itemized with several choices provided so that we could make educated decisions on the final project. After we decided on the final project, he helped us pick out all the materials and colors which kept a potentially difficult task very easy. He already knew the right placement for lighting, so we didn’t need to figure that out on our own. He always went above and beyond to make things look good and function well. I really appreciated that he vacuumed the dust while sanding, which prevented it from travelling to other parts of the house. He often worked late (with our permission), but switched to quiet jobs in the late evening so as to not disturb anyone. He kept the refuse from being in the way or being an eye-sore by having the demo company come pick it up a few times throughout the job instead of keeping a big dumpster in the driveway. Scott was extremely easy to communicate with as well. He always answered texts and emails quickly and completely. Nothing was forgotten or done in a different way than requested. We had a great experience with ReStart on a major kitchen and main floor remodel which included removal of a load bearing wall and re-routing plumbing and duct work. Also replaced front door and installed new flooring and paint throughout main floor and foyer. From the design phase to project completion, communication was great and we felt supported every step of the way. Highly recommended.
