The owner of this store is great, if I need something she gets it for me. When I had no insurance or my insurance don't pay for my meds she matches the prices at Walmart or grocery stores. You Rock!!

I am so disappointed! My family has been using Burch's Pharmacy because it is a local business and we wanted to support it, but after last night's experience we won't be going back, and that's too bad. My husband and daughter stopped on their way home after a doctor's appointment to pick up their prescriptions and were treated very rudely. No excuses accepted.

I would never recommend this pharmacy to anyone. I was treated very rudely when calling their pharmacy regarding a prescription for a mutual patient. They technician was extremely abrasive and hung up on me even though I was only trying to help the patient and questioning why they would not fill a prescription for them. When I called back she refused to give the phone to pharmacist and again hung up on me. Zero regard for patient care and customer service. I have never been more disgusted with a pharmacy. I have worked retail many years as a pharmacist and now for geisinger as a clinical pharmacist. I couldn’t not imagine allowing my techs to treat others so disrespectfully. It is very sad to see what retail pharmacy has become since I left two years ago. Sadly some just simple do not care for quality service.

Horrible customer service! Didn’t have the medication needed but wouldn’t send the script to Walmart to be filled, I have to wait for the doctor to send a new script to Walmart, and it after 5 pm. . I Try to use local stores, but every time i use this pharmacy they are rude. My daughter asked them to sponsor the prom at southern Columbia and she almost made her cry. If you don’t want to sponsor just don’t say anything, don’t yell at the kid.

*Long disgruntled post below*

Woke up this morning with a slight headache and chills down my back. Tried to find our digital thermometer but it's lost somewhere in the vortex that is my bathroom medicine cabinet.

Idea - Go to Burch Drug Store in Elysburg. I can grab a new thermometer and ask about rapid Covid tests (just to be safe). Here's what happened and why I am NEVER going back.

Woman at counter: Hello, can I help you?
Me: Yes, I need a new digital thermometer.
Woman at counter: Oh they're just down on your left.
Me: Great, thanks.

(I walk up to counter with my new digital thermometer that displays temp in 6seconds...because I only buy the best)

Woman at counter: Do you need anything else?
Me: Actually yes, do you have any rapid Covid tests available?
Woman at counter: Are you a customer?
Me: Well, I'd like to be; I want to buy this thermometer and a test.
Woman at counter: No I mean do you get your prescriptions filled here regularly?
Me: No, I don't get any prescriptions anywhere.
Woman at counter: Oh then you can't have any. We only sell the tests to regular customers who get prescription filled here.
Me: You're... you're kidding, right?
Woman at counter: No. I can't sell any to you.
Me: But you do have them...
Woman at counter: Yes we have one or two but again I can't sell them to you.
Me: Ok, well my wife got her prescription filled here a little while back (*Lura has super crazy poison ivy around Aug/Sept)

Woman in back (pharmacist?): What's her name?
Me: Lura Wasileski Good
Woman in back (pharmacist?): That doesn't count, she doesn't get enough filled here.
Me: Well, thanks for being so happy and helpful this holiday season.
Woman at counter: Sir, we're not being rude.
Me: Yes, yes you are. Even if you don't think so, you absolutely are. Shame on you.

I left the store with a thermometer and nothing else.

The reason I share this encounter is because I needed a test to be ultra-safe this holiday season. Why? Because my father is at home on hospice, and my mother-in-law received a kidney years ago. I need to be as absolutely careful as possible because I CARE. These women did not. And now, without the test I may just have to sit home and not see family. It's not the worst thing ever; we have phones and FaceTime here in 2021...but it infuriates me that they actually HAD tests and wouldn't let me buy any. Shame on them.

*update - I was able to find a rapid test from a family friend AND the VNA nurse that takes care of my dad secured me an appointment at the VNA tomorrow morning. There are amazing people amongst us!....except the ladies at Burch Drug Store in Elysburg...they suck, and they should know it.

Ive never been treated so poorly at a pharmacy in my life. The pharmacist not only refused service to a patient on disability in extreme pain and a cancer survivor but she wouldn't even give a reason. Then she hung up on me so i called back for her name and her and her staff refused to even give their names. They should be closed down!

The place sucks.. My wife needed antibiotics and pain meds..they made us wait over 7 hours . Pharmacist was nasty and hung up on me. They should pull her licence. Go to CVS in Danville , quick and friendly.
