Mountain House Country Store

This place is an absolute gem in the Saylorsburg/Poconos area. Whenever I'm in town, it's one of the few places I have to absolutely visit. Beautiful, well curated country store with a mix of antiques, primitive decor, and unique specialty gifts. Plus the new owner and workers there's are really sweet. Can't recommend this place enough.

A slice of hidden heaven… I have been in plenty of decor experiences, but this by far exceeds my expectations.. when you walk in, the owner immediately greets you, and you feel like you stepped in to a storybook.. it is exactly what I needed and more to furnish my cottage . I’m a NYC woman at heart, but now here to stay.. this is my favorite new place..

Reading some of these reviews make me giggle. First off this store is open Tuesday through Saturday, not two day a week. It’s a beautiful country store, that you don’t find to much anymore. I love the wax tarts, that smell heavenly.Can’t wait for his Christmas open house. I always look forward to visiting this beautiful store!

My new go to Christmas store. This store reminds me of the old Moravian Bookstore that closed. The merchandise is lovely!

I’ve been inside this store many times before. Due to the ever changing decor and seasonal decorations it’s almost like it’s a very new experience each time. The owners are super friendly and helpful and are always willing to offer a decor opinion.
I Have a large purse and I was nervous I would knock something over but the owner offered to hold my purse behind the counter and that was super convenient.

If you are looking for a style that will wow your guests, friends, family and even yourself, DON’T miss the opportunity to stop by and have a look…………you won’t be sorry.

Very high end, but relaxing at the same time. Something you would expect more in a place like rural Connecticut, but happy it’s here! The staff are extremely nicely and perfectly low key. The store has a lot of unique, changing items to keep up with the seasons. Highly recommended if you want something special a cut above Target, Michael’s etc. for decorating or gift giving. The items include a mix of new, primitive/folk, country-cottage, vintage/used, and artist or craftsperson made goods. Something for everyone at all price points. I could not imagine leaving empty handed, but also just worth exploring to get your own creative juices going since the store is so meticulously presented with different displays and arrangements. If I could give it an extra star I would because it is one of those places that has that indescribable extra quality to it.

This is one of the best shops in the Poconos! This store has wonderful crafts, furniture and handmade items for everyone! Very friendly staff as well. Owner is one of the most down to earth people I have ever met, to bad there are a few bad apples out there trying to give his store a bad name. I totally respect his no purse policy. If your not a thief it should't bother you at all. I would highly recommend visiting this store anytime your in Saylorsburg! Wonderful place and great stuff!!

A beautiful selection of pieces new and antique! I love the atmosphere of this adorable store! Friendly and helpful customer service (from who I suspect is the owner). I will definitely be back soon; give this shop a visit!

I can't tell you how lovely this place is to browse in...the smell is Devine ,the people are the nicest and you must look at all the artwork the owner puts into the handcrafted characters she makes as limited additions to each holiday season.
A great stop for collectors of clay creations and yet the whole store has primitives to dazzle you; you can get everything from candles to lampshades and all the holiday artifacts ones heart desires. This will be a stop on my shopping trail for many years to come 🤗
