Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital

I went in today with chest pain but it was quick there. They were so caring and loving the nurses were so very respectful and the doctor was amazing no matter what we we’re gonna get answers and I appreciated them taking the time to do it and not just misdiagnose me and give me meds that are not gonna do anything like my doctor did or I wouldn’t be in the horrible predicament I am in

Brought the kid here on 2/23 of 2022. Visit went great however my insurance company does not have them listed in the Geisinger network. When Jersey Shore hospital became part of the Geisinger system something has not switched over to allow my insurance company see them as indeed as being part of the Geisinger system. This is the only Geisinger hospital that my insurance company flags as being out of network. I have no issues with any other Geisinger medical clinic or hospital anywhere. I just wanted to bring this to someone's attention so that this issue won't happen to someone else. I am sure it is a minor detail somewhere. Other than that no complaints.

On Sunday Oct 16th 2022, I had a bad motorcycle accident and fractured and displaced my right wrist. Thanks to a good Samaritan I was taken to Jersey Shore Hospital. I was taken in immediately and received care by some awesome nurses and Dr Mack.
I gotta say I received great care and because of Dr Mack's skill I avoided surgery on a distal radius fracture that was displaced.He put me under and put the bone back where it should be. Thank you Dr Mack for the care you gave me...

They have saved my life, my daughter's life, and took very good care of my son's 100% displaced collarbone fracture. I would 100% send someone to them.

I was at the ER on 8-5-22 for a deep cut on my thumb. The staff in the ER that evening were great. Very friendly and I was taken care of fast. Dr Bradley did an excellent job and the nurses did to.

The technician's were very nice and courteous

I’ve been to Geisinger Jersey Shore multiple times for a wide range of need, x-rays, blood work, mammogram, sick visit, ER… Each time I was met with care and patience. The facility always looks clean and has improved accessibility. Any long wait I’ve encountered has not been due to negligence but to triage and high volume, which is out of the hospitals hands. If I had any complaint it would be that I think staff is overworked

I went to get checked out for some very high blood pressure. They gave me a bag of fluids and some potassium pills. I was there for 5 hours and they still didn't know why my BP was over 220. Sent me home and basically said go see your PCP. I guess it all depends on who you get to see there if you get the right treatment. I only gave them the 2 points for the RN who excelled in the performance of her job.

Sat there for 2 hours until my tests were finally taken back after being drawn. After another 2 hours they finally came and told me nothing was wrong despite having concerning symptoms. Sent me home, no medication and told me it was nothing to worry about. My eyes were yellow, I was coughing, my abdomen was uncomfortable and cramping. I had been fatigued and tired for 3 days. My urine also smelled like permanent marker. They said all my labs were fine. Got home and checked MyChart. My liver enzymes are high, blood in my urine and much more that lined up with a possible uti. Remind you, NO MEDICATION. I do not need pain meds, but antibiotics would've been nice to kick the UTI. I'm running a low grade fever and my body hurts.

These are big things we need to pay attention to.

So I live in Jersey shore and when geisinger took over it got slightly better and now it's apparently back to being worse. I called to get information from a nurse to see if I should come in after transferring me around 3 times. Can I transfer me to an online nurse talk to them explain my symptoms whether or not I should come in she said make an appointment with my family doctor which is at Jersey shore. I called back to Jersey shore tried to connect to make an appointment for my family doctor after being put on hold and transferred twice the phone goes dead and then I have to call back. Starting to feel like I have The same healthcare that shows up in Canada.

Terrible experience!!!!! They never billed my insurance and I had a letter in the mail about my debt going to collections! I called them and they said they would resubmit the bill to my insurance and now I’m here with a letter from a collection saying Im showing I don’t want to pay my debt since I haven’t contacted them. This should be illegal! It hurts my credit score and I didn’t do anything wrong, there’s no way for me to fix it. I had a minor visit to the ER and I’m going to end up paying out of pocket! Horrible service!

Make sure before they put any device on you, inquire about the cost , and yes even if you have health insurance. Crutches, wheelchairs, arm braces, leg casts, etc. Geisinger uses a shady equipment company to price gouge their patients. I was never given a bill until three weeks later , with a surprise bill from a company they use for their patients. The market value for the brace they sent me was around hundred dollars in most places, but they sent me a bill of $500. I even have Geisinger health insurance. That is 5 times the cost of the original price tag of the product. Now, you all wonder why Geisinger bills are always so high.

I was in the Er on 8/15 for four plus hours, and in those four plus hours I never saw a nurse, even with my monitors beeping like crazy for low blood pressure and low O2. They never took my vitals until I was discharged & I saw a doctor for 2 minutes right before getting discharged. Patient care obviously doesn’t matter to them!!!
