Strasburg Train Shop

We at great stop! The train is like stepping back into time and it’s worth the time to experience it. I found several things fascinating but the one thing but the seats intrigued me. The seats flip one way and then another on the way back! Genius and they are original seats. The train is beautifully restored and seeing the countryside is pretty too. It’s a nice relaxing ride.

Recently, my husband got back into the model train hobby and I suggested he visit a physical store to plan out his design. After looking at many reviews, we took a day trip to Strasburg with our main objective of chatting with a few like minded individuals and forming a plan. Everyone in the store was very knowledgeable and patient! My husband can get very involved in his thoughts but the associates were very patient and kind and shared all their valuable insight. In addition, they had TONS of trains and tracks in stock as well as scenery props. Actually, they had a SUPER selection of props and design elements. Lastly, I, personally, was drawn into the garden railroad sales room. There is truly something for everyone and the sales staff is exceptional! Visiting Strasburg? Make it a stop if only to browse. Looking for accessories? Worth a day trip!

Lovely train garden. I did think it was a little expensive for this kind of experience but it was very nice! Kids should all be free!

Had one of my Lionel engines there for service, Jerry and Chase went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and had a working train for Christmas. Excellent shop, can't say enough good things about them. Will definitely go there for future repairs and service.

The choo choo barn is simply awesome for little ones who adore trains. As a miniature enthusiast, I too, find the entire experience magical! Lovely, helpful woman at front desk. So much to do in the area. The best!

A very special place and to see so many children enjoying the train ride with Santa! Priceless!

They have a nice selection on N-gauge rolling stock. I was able to find some specific pieces which was terrific.

FANTASTIC!!! We were two kids in a candy store looking through aisles and aisles of great finds. This is a real deal train store and the staff were super friendly and made this experience so much fun.

I found this shop while my husband was enjoying the o scale exhibit at the Choo Choo Barn beside them. The owner was super friendly and was able to talk to me on the level of my own understanding. He shared with me some tips for my husband's layout and was kind. They have a lot of new and used items for sale. Way more than the shops I have seen in Ohio. I love that they had consignment options as well so that you can acquire pieces that match the older trains that have been passed down. They also ship, so we will be able to get product from them even when we can not drive there as it is 6 hours away.

This store is great! I'm glad it's an actual train shop and not a general "hobby" shop. I was in there 2 summers ago for the first time while I was on my second vacation to strasburg and made time to visit. Well I'm getting ready to visit again for New years weekend on my third vacation to strasburg. I'm from chesterfield VA and all of our train shops are gone so making this visit is important whenever I come to Lancaster Pa. Thanks y'all for keeping the hobby alive!

Beautiful shop, loaded with almost everything for ALL gauges. The owner was pleasant to talk with and very informative. They handle used as well as new material. Spacious store, thoughtfully laid out and well lot

This place is SO much fun. A LOT going on. One huge layout (the room it is in is 1,700 sq ft). Many, many things animated. It's really great.

They have just about anything and everything you could possibly want for you model railroading hobby. Huge selection of the real electric trains for Thomas & Friends. Various gauges and a great selection of used product for sale. If they don't have it they can likely order it.
