Berlew’s Hoagies

My first visit to Berlew's since moving from the Bronx. I had my eye on it since I first arrived and I am glad to say they did not disappoint!

I got the Italian Deluxe, White Birch Beer, and they forced, FORCED me to get the homemade Bread Pudding (ok, they didn't force anything, I was overly willing).

I love the old timey fridge and the super friendly people working there.

The Italian Deluxe was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients, crisp lettuce and tomato. (nothing is worse than a whimpy tomato...am I right?)

This place is definitely worth a visit and I am sure you will be happy with your selection as I am!

I stopped in for a hoagie and a soda. The price was good, the service was fast, and the hoagie was good. Next time I would ask for extra lettuce as there was not much on it. Overall a good experience and I will stop in the next time I am in that town.

Update: returned to berlows and got their Italian Deluxe Hoagie with a bottle of Dr Pepper. This hoagie was bigger then the previous and packed with meat, cheese, and those healthy veggies. The bun was so soft it could have been made on sight. Second time now great food and service. Definitely a big recommendation!

First time here, walked in was welcomed very friendly, told them first time here and they were glad I was trying them out. I got the Italian hoagie, 12 inch comes with oregano, lettuce, tomato, cheese, meat and dressing. I added sweet peppers and dumped the dressing for mayo. This was a very delicious hoagie, the bun was really soft, I could taste the freshness of the meats and cheese, this was a good afternoon lunch. I also tried what appears to be based on the label a bottle of homemade root beer. This had a great taste also. Now if this was not homemade I apologize in advance. The hoagie itself was $6.50, everything came to $9.81. they even gave you napkins without even asking. Definitely recommend and will be back!

The best service and THE BEST TUNA, hands down. Never a wait as the staff moves swiftly. Super friendly and super tuna!

I just want to keep adding to this review and say over the years it’s never been a disappointment. Always worth it, super tuna is my guilty pleasure. Still THE best ever.

I grew up on Berlew's, I'm so glad the younger generations are continuing the tradition. I love the Tuna and original meat & cheese

I grew up with Berlew's and used to stop in frequently. Their tuna hoagie and Italian hoagies are so, so good! When my family and I went back to Pennsylvania for a visit a few years ago, we stopped in and ordered both types of hoagies and my wife and son loved them. It's a great little mom and pop type store and the service was always great. The people were always friendly and accommodating as well. I'd almost give my right leg for one of their hoagies right now!

Excellent hoagies which can't be gotten anywhere else. Service is awesome everyone always has a smile on their face.

Reasonable price. Good food. Fast service. I get the deluxe Italian.

Always A pleasure ordering food from here the staff is outstanding. The food is delicious. And the bread pudding is out of this world!

Best tuna hoagie ever highly recommended

The hoagies here always hit the spot. Portions are a great size for the price and when you add toppings or sauces they know how to keep the sandwich flavor balanced (so it doesn't just taste like mustard or onions). The bread is especially good. It's soft, but crispy, but not so crispy that the crust shatters into crumbs all over your shirt. Easily one of the top 3 sandwich shops in The Valley.

The best tuna hoagie (get the Super) I have ever had.! The American is fantastic also. Their hoagie buns are so fresh. Worth the drive from anywhere. The new owners are just as nice as the original owners. They did an amazing job renovating the place while keeping the original coolers in tact. You will not be disappointed!!

I don't know how anyone could complain about their prices. I got chips a deluxe Italian and a 20oz soda for under 9 dollars. You're not going to find a better value anywhere. The sandwich I wanted was on deck when I arrived (what luck, they don't exactly premake a large amount) and I was in and out in seconds. Buns - fresh -meat - fresh service - fast. 10/10 and the meat is quality not like some of these sandwich shops cutting corners.

First time here!!! What I can say is the wraps and hoagies were phenomenal 😁. The seafood chowder was Amazing. Service was impeccable. We will be future customers. Thanks Berlew, for the nostalgia of when hoagies were great. No one compares to your Sandwiches.

Great tuna super hogies and great all hogies going thru Moosic Pa on main drag give these people a try very busy because word gets around

I love it here, growing up I came here under previous ownership and it was always a favorite. Their American hoagie is unbeatable. When they closed my heart was broken so when the new owners brought the place back better than ever and with the same family recipes I couldn't be happier. Fantastic place!

I love their hoagies! Great little shop with loads of hoagie options plus a lot of snacks. They even have candy for the kids for like $0.15 per piece that my daughter loves to get. I definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. They have a large selection, prices are very reasonable as well.
