Carbondale Public Library

One of my favorite places in any city is the library. The Carbondale Public Library is a great place to catch up on your reading and just spend time with your little ones. This library offers/hosts many children's events all year long and they have a pretty extensive collection, both new and old for both children and adults alike. They recently expanded their children's section to encompass the entire second floor, and the transformation is wonderful (pictures provided). If the library does not have a certain book in stock they offer interlibrary loans from other libraries, so you always have a way to get the materials you are looking for. The facility is welcoming and clean. Parking is available in the back and side of the building. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. This library also does a monthly food drive (not quite sure what day/ days) to anyone in need. This library is just a great resource for the city!

I would like to say very good library for new in towns and community was amazing. " Stephanie Spaid " was amazing person to spend her time with us 1:1 and let us know around what would be best. We would appreciate her time . And make sure you stop by for Stephanie Spaid!!!

Just joined yesterday.....nice folks work there, they are very helpful to elderly people like me. I borrowed a DVD and will be going back to return it today and to borrow another.

It's a small library with limited inventory but using the internet to place holds gives you access to the entire Lackawanna county library system, if you don't mind waiting a few days for it to get there. Friendly staff too.
