We made an appt with Dr. Smith since he was "an A+" doctor, when seen yrs ago by my husband in the Washington office.
Our opinion has changed, sad to say!
My husband had an appt on March 29th 2019 with Dr. Smith, who was hurried in and out of the room just to get to the next patient, (he was saying orders of wanting my husband to have a PVR while walking down the hall to see the next patient.)
He did not want to hear what initially started with my husbands inability to urinate, stemming from a spinal cord contusion during a surgery, resulting in him having to do self catheterizations while inpatient for 36 days in a Spinal Cord Rehab.
Dr. Smith kept voicing his opinion of it was only because of being on a narcotic medication..He has been on pain medication for over 20 yrs and this issue of being unable to urinate had only started after his surgery.
We paid a co-pay of $40. for a 5 minute appt with a doctor, who had his mind on other things..and not on my huband's medical concern.
Then to add to the frustration, my husband was to receive intermittent catheters (for three times a day self catheterization.)
Here it is April 30th and still no catherers. A week later after the appt. we received a phone call from the office stating that they had a request for catheters, but since it has been yrs since my husband saw Dr. Smith...he would have to make an appt to see him! Really???
I called back to say that he WAS seen by him the week before...she said there was no nothing in his chart of him being seen.
Two weeks later, received a call back after I had called inquiring of when these catheters will be delivered. The woman said they wanted to know who our medical provider would be for the catheters?
Having to make multiple calls to find one...I spoke with a provider on April 19th and gave her the information she needed and she sent a request for the Dr's RX for the catheters and Dr. notes...finding out today that Dr. Smith's office never responded to the Medical Equipment Supply provider either.
What an inappropriate and unprofessional way for a "specialist" to practice and having unorganized staff members to continue with a patient's needs after all that my husband has been through..?
Disappointed to say the least!
