Polly Hill Campground

Saturday, April 2, 2022: The wife and I took a daytrip from Fairmont, WV...approximately 45 mile drive to Hundred, WV and turn north which only took about one hour and fifteen minutes. The park was very clean as well as the facilities, we drove up to Polly Campground and the park officer was there and let us take a peak into one of the Deluxe Cottage, he was very friendly with us and shared future developments that they would like to add. The new pool/Splash park looks good and it should be fun for all when it opens in season...as close as it is to Fairmont we will return. PEACE!

It was also the first day of Trout season and the stream was crowded...

Very nice had a fun time bathrooms are close to camp site and there are hiking trails and all kinds of stuff to do

Bathrooms very nice. Camping spots super small and not at all private. Too much gas development going on right outside the park and accompanying noise of trucks rumbling by.

The campground is beautiful and very well maintained. Bathrooms were very clean. I just wished the pool area, lake had been usable, for my grandchildren. Overall wonderful, peaceful experience.

Beautiful quite camp ground, but dogs picked up a 6 ticks in one evening :(

Nice well kept park. Mature trees, newer infrastructure. Lovely small park.

BUT the noise from the power plant or what ever it is down by the swimming pool is annoying.

The campground itself was really nice. The facilities were clean and in good order and the full-hookup site was great. The only reason for the 3 stars is that the noise from the fracking industry was annoying. There was a constant low drone 24 hours from the rear facility and the trucks rumbling through. I know that this isn't the fault of the park but it is what it is. There's a large compressor plant smack up against the main entrance and another facility smack up against the back. I'm not opposed to fracking, I'm glad that this area has work. I just wish it wasn't pressed up against the park. People go to these places to escape.

You can tell that this was a peaceful gem of a park and after this industry is gone it probably will be again as long as it survives. It does need some love and attention. There is a beautiful new pool and splash park facility, I guess this is to make up for the lake and beach that no longer exist. The campground has a newer restroom/shower facility (but the laundry is closed) and nice camping cottages. But the trails need some clearing and the iron bridge needs repaired or replaced.
