Beautiful area. The sites are so different in each of their own ways. One is around trees, like you have your own forest. Another one is right by a windy stream. Each are super big in size. You get the experience of camping.

Tall Oaks is a wonderful place to be. I got a tent site and it was awesome. The electric worked great. The sites aren’t too close together. The showers are no more than a mile walk from any site. You definitely feel “ back in the woods” at tall oaks and it is so relaxing! Definitely recommend.

Found this little gem last week while searching online. Me and my girlfriend stayed here last night at a tent site (A-3). We had a great time! Actually will be back next weekend also

I have been camping here for over 10 years and have always had a great time. They will deliver firewood for a reasonable fee, always friendly and the sites are secluded enough that you and your friends can have a great time without keeping everyone else in camp awake. I really enjoy camping here and I hope they keep it loose and a little rustic like it always has been! So what if the showers cost a few quarters and the outhouses are a little smelly or your neighbors are having a loud bonfire?, it's camping!

If you want to camp with a tent, in the woods, away from people, this is fantastic. The lots are exceptionally large, the land is beautiful, and it's relatively inexpensive.

This is not the place for the following:
smooth roads
heavy regulations on every detail
pristine showers
hearing your neighbors every detail

We chose one of the larger campsites - which was a large field by itself. We had 3 picnic tables, and a firepit, and well over an acre to ourselves on the edge of the woods.
There is a store at the entrance and there are showers there. There are port-a-potties throughout the campground. The roads are a little rough - but i don't find that a problem. It keeps people from flying past your campsite. The owners are friendly and the store at the front has all that you need.
I will gladly return.

Great place to camp, located next to just about everything you want to do. Tent sights are secluded in the woods feel, quieter, while the fields tend to draw larger crowds. I have always went down with a large group, stayed in a field, and tall oaks is more than accommodating on all fronts. Cheap place to stay, but like the others say, wild animals are definitely about, they do allow fireworks to be lit off before a certain time and you have to let them know, alcohol at your sites, and if you stay up near the field, you probably will hear some noises. I always recommend this campground.

I have been camping at Tall Oaks for about 10 years and wouldn't consider any other campground in the area. Beautiful, spacious sites are the norm. There are even a few primitive cabins and pavilions that are great as well. Main lodge has coin-op showers with semi-private stall type and fully private types available. Ohiopyle is 15 minutes away by car and many rafters, hikers, bikers and kayakers stay here.

The deal here is, respect other people and you'll be left alone. If you are looking for a campground that strictly enforces all policies, then there is a great state park minutes away that will pack you in like sardines and send the rangers around every 30 minutes.

If you want to have a beer by the campfire, enjoy the outdoors and the (mostly) peace and quiet, you'd be hard pressed to do better than Tall Oaks.

No, it's not perfect. A lot of sites and permanent fixtures could use better maintenance or be replaced. The pool by the main lodge will probably never be open. I've stayed at other public and private sites in the area, however, and Tall Oaks comes out ahead every time.

Wanted to find a place near Ohiopyle, PA where I could bring my 12 year old daughter and her 2 young teenage cousins from Germany and provide them a good outdoor experience with our pop-up trailer without being on top of other RVs or campsites----that is, as primitive a camping experience without trekking up the AT trail with all our gear.
This campground was awesome---just what I wanted. We were self-sufficient in that we didn't need hook ups (although the campground does have some if you need them)---just wanted a really private campsite. There were many to choose from--most with a simple picnic table and fire-ring; ports-toilets within easy walking distance. We came mid-week and had our choice of prime sites with no fellow campers in earshot, let alone eye site. Dry wood to purchase at the entrance. If you want a plush RV campground, this is not it. If you want a really cool place for car, tent or RV camping without all the amenities (for which you might as well stay home for) this is it! We had 2 fabulous nights, with a day of white water rafting in between, under the stars, campfire and seemingly "away from it all" without noisy RVs and loud obnoxious neighbors---the only neighbors we had were several white tail deer. Safe, enjoyable and just what we were looking for--an easy drive from Ohiopyle. Highly recommended!

Place is great, they deliver truck loads of wood to your site for a fair price. Very secluded so no other campers are right on top of you. Located ten minutes from anything you could possibly want to do, plus beer distributor is only two miles away. Definitely will be returning.

I love tall oaks!! camping at its finest! The staff there are always VERY accommodating and as long as there are no severed limbs or burnt down structures by the end of the night never seem to bother us. Not to mention stationed ideally around many local attractions. I will camp there for years to come and shout their praises to everyone looking for a place to stay while in the area.

Tall Oaks is my favorite campground. I haven't gone anywhere else in years. If you're looking for a place that gives you plenty of space, this is it. I would suggest getting a look at the camp map before you reserve a spot tho. A lot of the sites are smack dab in the middle of the woods while a bunch of them have open fields.

There are definitely some wild animals hanging around there tho. Make sure you keep that in mind - like coyotes.

If you're looking for a place to go with your kids, make sure you stay away from the large open fields spots. That tends to be where the larger groups go to camp and party/light off fireworks.

You're pretty much free to roam around there.

Recently under new management. The experience was great, with a large space and good spacing between sites in a beautiful area. We only spent one night here, but we would definitely go back.

Best campground in the area hands down; showers/stalls at the front, toilets scattered throughout the grounds. Short drive to Ohiopyle State Park.

Hoping they make it though the pandemic!!!
