Cupboard Maker Books

We made a trip to PA from NYS specifically to visit Cupbaord Maker Books. They have a cute story in which they operate as not only a used book store but have 3 resident cats and foster cats for adoption, having helped over 200 cats find homes.

Aside from the cats (a huge draw for us!), they had an incredible selection of books, but they were very well organized. There was also tons of art around the store, some centering on cats, most on books.

In addition to used books, they have a section with brand new books, including some by the owner and others by/about the resident cats.

There's even more! Because they had this neat basket full of wrapped books labeled "Blind Date With a Book." The labels told the genre and a few details of interest so buyers could choose a surprise book. My daughter chose to open hers immediately and was pleased with the selection. I'm opting to wait til a night when I need a pick me up to see what surprise I got!

Oh, additionally, we got all of our used books on discount the day we visited: 25%-50% off. My sister took home a stack of used books in good condition for less than $30. You can't beat that!!!

I definitely suggest a trip to Cupboard Maker Books for any of the perks they offer - and probably many others that I didn't discover.

Incredibly magical, homey, and kind! Loved the experience & so many books to go through - local, new, used, etc.!! (They are organized by genre) The cats roam all around & there is art on the bookcases & walls. It is such a peaceful, welcoming place for book lovers! 📖 Definitely recommend stopping in & checking it out!

A wonderful bookstore that is paradise for someone like me who's two favorite things are books and cats! The art throughout the store made this an incredibly unique experience. I wish I lived closer because they had so many different book clubs!! And yes, I did find this place because of TikTok and luckily was passing through on my work trip!

It is an incredible place for book lovers and cat lovers. It is quite possible to get lost for hours trying to look at all of their books available. They predominately have used books, but they do have a small section with new books. The people who work there are incredibly helpful as well.
Truly can't wait to go back.

Lovely used bookstore with a huge selection of books. The cats saunter around like little kings and queens! They also have cats available for adoption as well as books about the resident cats.

Strong selection across fiction, non-fiction and kids. Well organized, fair prices, and most books are in really good condition.

Really enjoyed my visit to Cupboard Maker books. They have huge selections of used books (and a section of new books), ranging from fiction to non fiction across all genres. The book pricing was also affordable for used book store! And don’t miss the cute cats that live there! Plenty of parking and nice murals on the outside walls!

This place, is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy. If you're a book lover and going to look make sure you set aside an hour or 5... there are shelves upon shelves of used treasures and a section of new books! They have book clubs, book signings by a variety of authors, and the son of the owner illustrated some of the books based off of the cat mascot! If you go in while he's there and get a book, he'll even sign it! I think overall you can never go wrong with a book store that has cats roaming the place.

While visiting family, we stopped at this bookstore. The entire place is just covered in books, such a dream! Add cats in & how can you not love this place. But mostly, my visit was made perfect by the lovely lady who encouraged, if not demanded (lol) that I read Poison Study. I wish I remembered the lady’s name but I just want to thank her entirely for opening that book world up for me! I’ve finished the first and will read the rest in the series. Thank you again for such a warm welcome and amazing suggestion for books! I’ll be returning for sure when I’m back in the area again.

This place is spectacular to see in person. There's a lot of books. There's 4 cats. You're not allowed to pick them up but you can pet them. If you go, make sure that you have hours to spend in there. Staff is very Friendly and helpful.

This place made my soul smile. I felt so happy just being here. It gives off cozy vibes! My husband and I spent a good hour here, exploring each aisle and searching for old favorites and something new to read. Mostly used books here but also some new. You can't leave without buying something, I'm sure! We walked out with a stack and a lot of new memories. I can't wait to come back.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! No infinite stars! I cannot recommend this bookstore enough or say enough about it, from the knowledgeable and incredibly friendly staff to the warm cozy feeling and did I mention the cats! Yes there is bookstore cats! It’s amazing with every genre you can think of and so much more! I LOVE it!!

You could spend hours there. Great selection of books on every subject. The little furry escorts are all lovable and affectionate. If you're planning to go, here's a tip: take a marke to sign the posts.

This place is huge and wonderful. Aisles and aisles of floor-to-ceiling books. Some cats wander the store, others curl up in their cozy crate. Graffiti on the shelves, some highly artistic, some amateur. I walked out with a stack of books for $50. The staff was very helpful and patient with my children. We will be back the next time we are in the area.

Great place with a large selection of used books, fantastic and helpful staff and the nicest cats you ever met. The prices are very reasonable and their sales are fabulous. I left with way more than I went in for.

Riley is fabulous!! A great conversationalist and very attentive despite how busy he was! I love this bookstore from the artistic, sustainable environment to the wide-range plethora of inventory. I was able to offload quite a bit of my library, hang with the cool cats (literal and figurative), and save up with their book exchange for my next spree :). It's tempting not to buy my childhood favorites when I come in—the condition is almost always new or very good condition—and the price points are very reasonable. 12/10 would recommend to any book lovers nearby!

If you're passing by Enola and have a love of literature (and cats), it's very much worth your time to stop by this charming local bookstore.

The place is filled with a love for stories. You can see it not just by the books up on the shelves but also the illustrations and messages that are up on every shelf's sides.

It's just as much fun to browse all those decorations as it is the books themselves, and while you do you'll come across the other charming residents of the shop: the rescue cats, who range from politely sociable to playful and outgoing.

Places like this are rare, and worth seeing!
