Anytime I am in the area I stop in to get everything I need for a good home cooked meal. Quality of the meat is tough to beat and the selection is always great. Also have fantastic pantry items with local pastas, cheeses, cured meats etc. love using their Italian sausage in my pasta sauce.

Everything about this place is top tier from the staff to the products. The hot food is outstanding and rivals any other spot in Kennett. Cheese and meat selection is other worldly. Caught them for a customer appreciation day and got to sample all kinds a great stuff!

Great selection of top quality meats and cheeses. Friendly and helpful staff will take the time to answer questions and give tips on recipes. I’ve ordered my Thanksgiving turkeys from here for close to a decade. They are more expensive than the regular grocery store but their quality is far above that of a frozen bird. Highly recommend if you’re looking to order any holiday meat or just looking for meat for a family dinner.

The Country Butcher is a great local resource for meats, cheese and so much more. Alex suggested their Tritips and seasoning for a recent guest dinner and they were phenomenal and made for a fabulous meal.

We’ve been living in Kennett Square for about two years now and we feel so fortunate to have the Country Butcher right in town. I would easily drive a half hour to visit.
While a weekly staple for top notch meets and cheese they also have pizzas on Friday, a damn good eatery (try the desserts - yum yum) and a wide selection of fresh prepared and frozen foods. All kinds of sauces, jams and everything you need for a charcuterie board. You just have to go in and wander around - there’s a huge selection of stuff. Excellent cheese selection as well and the burger patties and sausages are top notch and a great value.
Love this place. Thanks to the entire Country Butcher team - they make Kennet Square a special place!!

The staff here is warm and friendly, the food is fresh and delicious, and the store has a quaint atmosphere. I especially love their assortment of cheeses!

The Country Butcher catered my wedding of ~100 guests, and we had a perfect experience! The planning, communication, pick-up, and food were beyond what I could have dreamed. We worked with the Chef and butchers to determine the best option for a hog roast, and they more than delivered on expectations! The entire process was so easy, and their customer service is unmatched. The food was a huge hit, and I was thrilled with every single selection.

I wanted some nice appetizers to enjoy with a glass of wine/cocktail at the end of the day so picked up a variety of items. The Spinach Artichoke dip is delicious - I combined with the Fire Hook Baked Crackers w/Sea Salt - I am not a big dip person but this is REALLY GOOD, light and not overwhelming. Also got the marcona almonds, castelvetrano green olives - which were a nice compliment to the dip and the Hummingbird cheese (local) - light and different. Yes! It was pricey! But it was all SO damn good! And took a glass of wine/cocktail to the next level at the end of the day. Highly recommend ;))))

First I must mention their wonderful selection of locally made cheeses from the Farm at Doe Run. We especially love St Malachi. Plenty of fresh meats and deli options, plus pasta and sauces and olives and mustard and cookies ... They have a nice little dining area in the back for breakfast and lunch, plus a selection of bakery items to go. It is a great place to get little gourmet items and kitchen gadgets. There are steps in the front but easier access on the side doors. A great place to go to get something special or just some soup and a sandwich.

Friendly people. So many different choices from fresh & frozen meats (including game varieties), cheeses, bakery, cafe (great coffee & sandwiches), shelf stable items, frozen entrees & pastas, etc.

I cannot count how many times I have been here, how many dishes I've tried from behind the deli, how many cookies I've eaten from the bakery, how many loaves of bread have been dipped in olive oil, how many meats and cheeses have been paired with wine and EVERY SINGLE TIME it is all of the highest quality. The Country Butcher is a staple in Kennett Square and the owner and staff are all amazing people. If you come to Kennett Square to visit, go to the Country Butcher.

Coming from Long Island I was spoiled with my options of butchers and delis. The country butcher did not disappoint! I’ve purchased filet mignon serval times and it was delicious every time. The Kennet square burgers are a must, and the ground sirloin is perfect for meatballs, tacos and whatever else! There’s also a deli section that had all the Italian meats, cheeses, and breads that are perfect for hosting! If you’re new to the area and looking for a great butcher/deli lunch spot check them out!

Great DiVinci sandwich! Very fresh thinly sliced meat. I would be happier if they put a bit more roasted red peppers on it. Love their stuff. On the pricey side but worth a treat every now and then.

I thought my butcher in NY was great....no more! The Country Butcher now has my heart not just over the choice cuts of meat. That Kennett Square burger is the tastiest ever. They have excellent deli items too. If I needed to choose my last meal, would be their quinoa salad (just enough zip to be hip!), Morrocan chicken salad (moist shredded chicken with pistachios and sultana raisins for a sweet foil to the curry seasoning)and roasted Brussels sprouts (charred to perfection) all served with the heavenly earthy whole grain bread from their bakery. OUTSTANDING!

The Country Butcher prepared food for my son's wedding and EVERYONE raved about how delicious the meal was. The tomato basil salad and roasted veggies were FRESH, the fish and chicken were expertly prepared and the mac and cheese was universally LOVED. We have shopped for gourmet foods and meats here for almost 20 years and now 150 of our friends and relatives were able to enjoy the same delicious food. Dan and Dorothy, Omar and Tom, Connor and all of the folks at Country Butcher provide gourmet food with a hometown attitude.

Excellent selection of specialty foods, meats and cheeses. An unexpected find in this area with an excellent selection of sandwhiches and salads on their cafe menu. Most of the beef is USDA Prime which can be tough to find and the price is right on the money. Nice staff and very helpful.

The meats and cheese are superb. Bought some honey as well the staff were very friendly and helpful.
