Grumpy's Sandwiches

I was in town for a car show and stopped in for a sandwich. I ordered The Grumpy’s sandwich, (roast beef with peppers & onions), and it was excellent. They certainly aren’t afraid to pile on the meat. It was such a good sandwich I came back the next day for a BBQ pulled pork sandwich that was just as good. Definitely recommended and the service was excellent too.

Only my second time eating here but we will definitely be back soon. “Grumpy’s” has got to be an inside joke because the owner is so friendly and talkative. He asked us questions and we chatted about family, childhood adventures, etc … the soup and sandwich were amazing! Mushroom and crab bisque was as good or better than any fine dining restaurant I’ve ever been to. The Grumpy’s sandwich has just the right amount of zing from the hot pepper to taste all the delicious beef, cheese, sautéed onion and sweet red peppers. My wife and I can’t eat a huge amount so we split the sandwich and that was plenty for us. We will be back soon GRUMPY!

Finally tried Grumpy’s 4 years after moving to Pottstown, and I’m wondering what I've been doing for the last 4 years. Ordered a Corned Beef Special for lunch and it was simply the best corned beef I’ve ever had. Grumpy is an artisan. The hand carved meat is incredible. If you haven’t tried Grumpy’s I must implore that you do.

They gave me the wrong sandwich during a rush. No big deal. I asked for the right sandwich and they refunded me, gave me the right sandwich, and even offered a bowl of water for the dog next to us. Great place with a great staff!

WOW!! That's the first thought I had when I tasted the Pink Floyd sandwich (secret menu!) today!

I walked in to the restaurant today and it was very clear that I was a first timer, lol. I didn't catch the cook's name, but he was great to talk to. He immediately gave me a generous slice of corned beef and also a slice of the hand carved turkey and both were amazing. When I went to make the order, I wanted to recreate a sandwich that I used to have years ago at an old job. I started to describe what I wanted and he was finishing my description exactly how I was going to say it! He and his daughter (pretty sure) both knew that I was ordering the Pink Floyd. Half roast beef, half turkey, with long hots, pepper Jack cheese and red pepper relish. It was so good!!! Comes with Cole slaw also, which I forgot to have in the pic.

Such a cool restaurant with a true neighborhood feel. I could tell that they knew most of the customers and heard people ordering "the usual". Service was awesome too! Will definitely be going back.

Amazing sandwiches, crafted with care! We'd go here every day if we could! (Not local to us, but absolutely worth the trip for a Grumpy's Sandwich!)

Best sandwiches ever and they are so friendly! Love this place. I love the roast beef with bleu cheese and onions.

Always a good meal and a good laugh with the owners. I'm a vegetarian and although they do vegetarian Wednesdays, they always can whip up an awesome sandwich. Their blueberry pancakes are one of my favorites for breakfast.

WOW !!!! I don't know why I waited so long . If I could I would give grumpys 10 stars . Had a southwest roast beef sandwich the beef and stuff on the sandwich was over the top. The Au jus ( not sure if I spelled that rite) I could have drank a glass of it. The owner and staff were friendly and efficient. I got to try a piece of the cornbeef and I can tell you this I am getting a cornbeef sandwich next time it was delicious. Thank you Grumpy for a magnificent sandwich at a very resonable price

I tried this place for the first time today. Food and service was top notch. Only problem is the guy wasn't even grumpy. At best I would say slightly annoyed..

I LOVE Grumpy's! I travel to the area occasionally for classes and I look forward to going so I can eat here! The turkey is fresh roasted turkey. And they put an ENTIRE turkey on your sandwich! Ok I'm exaggerating but its a BIG sandwich. I haven't had anything here that I haven't liked. And the owner comes around talking to customers at their tables.

Wonderful sandwich shop! Our sandwiches were made with large pieces of freshly carved turkey each, and mine had very generous pieces of Brie! The owner came over and chatted with us and his daughter provided wonderful service. Overall, definitely worth the trip, we will be back!

Incredibly friendly host, high quality meats, wonderful rolls, comfortable setting. We hung out for hours, lingering over our meal!

Had the Hot Gobbler. Man this is a great sandwich, their Turkey is cooked perfectly. This place is a gem, only problem, too many good choices! Nice clean sit it with some neat historical items on the wall. If you are in downtown Pottstown around lunch, DEFINITELY stop in.

Nice find while out of town on business. Loved the Grumpys special, owner was very nice. Would highly recommend.
