Stopped by on 6/8/24 to check the shop out. The guys there were awesome! I learned some new techniques, bought some flies, and a map of some great fishing spots to check out!

I followed the double nymph drop shot advice, and to no suprise, it produced! Thanks, guys. I look forward to coming back!

Awesome shop and awesome people. This past week we did a full day guide trip. Absolute incredible trip over 15 fish with some really nice ones mixed in! Our guide “Logan the Kid” was outstanding. Very easy going and extremely knowledgeable. Failure was not an option coaching us through the day. We will certainly be back!

My husband and I stopped in this fly shop last week after attempting to go to another shop that was closed. We were so glad to find this shop open! It was one of the nicest fly shops we have ever visited. We learned a lot from Logan and he pointed us to some cold water streams since Penns creek was a little to warm to fish. We bought some recommended flies, and we're able to land some trout later that day including our first brookies! Thank you Logan, and we will definitely be visiting this shop the next time we are in central PA!

Very knowledgeable staff who are engaging and patient with more novice anglers like myself. Spent a couple of days with 2 different guides (Matt and Blaine), both worked so well with my daughter (10) who had never fly fished before. They made sure we had a great time and seemed almost as proud as I was whenever she landed a fish. We come back year after year and will continue to do so. Cannot recommend them all enough!

Such a terrific business. I am mot a great fisherman, but by the end of the day, Our guide taught me a great deal while making the day one to remember. Matt is very professional, but fun at the same time. He does the little things to make sure your day is all about fishing, not worried about anything else. Went to the Feathered Hook Fly Shop before fishing the green drake hatch on Penn's Creek. They had all the gear we needed, very knowledgeable and willing to share information. Parking is on the street.

My friend Mike and I fished with Matt Kowalchuk the past 3 days on central PA streams. Our fly fishing education and overall experience with Matt was exceptional!

Matt improved our techniques on both tightlining sets ups and more traditional fly rods. We learned about bug behavior, wild trout behavior, presentation techniques, casting approaches, tightline rigging, how to read these streams and much more. Matt was patient and a great teacher!

Moreover, we were lucky enough to experience hatches every day and threw dry flies at these fish. What a thrill!

Did I say that Mike and I are 76 and 63 years old! We were leaning on our walking staffs all day an Matt could not have been more patient, helpful and understanding! Suffice it to say we were not moving around the streams with grace!

During our 4 hour drive home both Mike and I knew we were much better anglers as a result of the 3 days on the water with Matt. We talked the entire ride about how we were going to apply everything we learned. The 30+ fish we caught the last day was the icing on the cake!

I highly recommend Matt Kowalchuk to guide you on your next central PA fishing experience . . . and Matt also guides Smallmouth float trips on the Little Juniata.

The proof is in the net, but when you combine the comfortable bed & breakfast and the well-stocked fly shop with Jonas and his orbit of passionate staff, the Feathered Hook stands tall as a top national jumping off point for catching wild trout on the fly.

I was brought to the Hook on a business outing a few years ago and it reconnected me with the kind of trout fishing I hadn't experienced since my youth in New Mexico.

The guides are worth every penny. I recommend fishing with all of them at least once to experience Penns Creek from different professional perspectives, and these guys are pros, no doubt about it.

I am a big fan of the Feathered Hook and highly recommend it for serious fly fisherman, including couples and families.

A buddy and I just did a guided trip with Matt. He was fantastic. Well worth the $ for the local knowledge. The shop had all sorts of great gear and it's not easy to tell from google maps, but they also have a very affordable B&B. Great place all around!

Me and my sister had a great stay at the feather hook lodge. Tess was an amazing guide. Will be back!

Very nice place, old timey fishin store vibe, with all the guys around talking about flyfishing. What a wealth of knowledge these guys have! LARGE selection of flies and gear for flyfishing. You won't find a better or more hometown helpful place!

We come to the Featherd Hook twice a year and are never disappointed. Great fishing and a diversified group of fun characters make this a unique place in PA.

As a newbie to fly fishing i had an amazing experience today. Got the help I needed and even after having issues with my card the guys never got impatient or flustered. They even helped me match up an old pattern I bought a few years back that was working well for me!

Come for the fishing supplies stay for the staff to insult you...but in a good way! Pro Tip don't ask them how's the fishing, what's working or what are your thoughts on interest rates. They won't answer the first two and they will drone on about the last one. Seriously if there is a better fly shop in the area I haven't been able to find it. Lots of locally tied flies, great selection of rods and reels, and the B&B has the best breakfast in the area.

Outstanding fly shop. Truly and genuinely get treated like a friend. The staff provides VERY honest feedback, both pros and cons, of fly fishing gear they sell. Large unique inventory and priced very well. A visit to an active bamboo rod building shop in their property is a special treat.

First things first. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a hand shake and welcome by a younger gentlemen. That may not seem like a big deal, but these days to me, it is. Very very nice store. Good selection on many things. I am brand new to fly fishingg not having done it for over 22 years so I was a bit out of my element but the young man was very helpful. I didn't buy anything, but think I will return to check out the waist waders again. The fly selection is over the top. If they don't have it, you don't need it. Bottom line, I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

This is a GREAT Fly Shop!!! From the Owner, Jonas Price to the entire inside Shop Personal, to the Guides Aston, Matt and Tess, this is a very "Well Oiled Machine"!!! I would highly recommend using their Guides as they are Top Notch!!! They are Excellent at there " Trade"!!! I have fished over 6 different times with the Guides!! I had a Fantastic trip each and every time. My last trip I caught over 34 Trout!!! My advice would be, UTILIZE The Guides!!!! They know there home waters!!!

Stayed a couple of days at the B&B attached to the shop. Clean comfortable room and common areas. Owner Jonas is very friendly.
Fly shop is very well stocked with quality gear.
Lots of great fishing opportunities in the area.

One of if not the best fly shop in Central Pennsylvania. Helpful and eager to help. Quality tied flies and an insane selection. If you need it they have it. From gear, flies, rods reals, waders and even a great selection of Sitka Gear. Another great service they offer is a bed and breakfast and full guide service. No one has the pulse of the river better than the guides at The Feathered Hook. Support your local fly shop.

Great shop with huge selection of quality flies, leaders, tippet and gear. Helpful staff has directed me well when I’ve visited for the green drake hatch.
