Finkles is awesome! Their old time look and customer service is top notch. I have been going there for years for both my simple needs (household stuff) and my business needs (hardware). They have always come through. Today, Rachel researched a plumbing need I had and solved my issue....as usual.

Friendly, Helpful, Well stocked. Needed parts not available at Home Depot and Lowe's. Best of all knowledgeable folks to give advice.

I ordered steel from here for a project. I called and spoke to Rachel who let me know a bunch of prices and what steel they could supply me. Once I figured out what I wanted I placed my order and my steel was ready and cut for a small price earlier than expected. Picking it up was super easy and the staff there helped me load my trailer.

This is the bedrock of the survival and resiliency of the sister towns of Lambertville and New Hope. A truly independent store free from the problems and abuses of the large corporate chains. Well stocked and staffed by experienced humans. Never underestimate how important businesses like this are to the community. Oh, yeah they also had what I was looking for.

This is an amazing hardware store. They have just about everything in the far reaches of the store. Pre-covid one could go in to get things. Since covid they will do curbside pick up. Call ahead and they will sort out what you need. They are a Lambertville institution.

I had an extremely complicated problem with.clawfoot tub faucets. The employee listened patiently and came up with a very ingenious solution after we tried a number of approaches. No other store would take that time, and nobody would likely have the expertise and knowledge to do something like that. There's no other place like this out there--a true gem.

Been coming here for years. The owners know me, my wife, and my kids by name. This place is literally packed with odd old stuff that you would assume nobody makes anymore.

Here's what it's like: you've just broken one of a matching set of weird vent covers shaped like great blue herons. Oh no, you think, gonna have to throw them both out. But just for the heck of it you go to finkles just in case. You've never been, but you've seen their sign many times and this is the perfect excuse.

You walk in and the door tinkles a bell. The floor is old wooden down wood. There is a quiet gathering of wizened local customers patiently waiting at the front counter. They are each holding paper tags with numbers one them. You quickly figure out that you have just stepped into a magnificent system, and you pull a tag off the peg and wait your turn. You consider going it alone, but it is beyond obvious that you would just get lost in all the narrow aisles.

Pretty soon an employee comes to the front with a customer in tow, rings him or her up, and calls your number. You are now in the hands of a masters level professional. He or she takes a glance at your broken bird cover and says, follow me. You head for the back of the store and it goes a lot farther back than you thought. It goes about twice as far back as it really should. The aisles don't line up so you can't see very far. Then you go down a stairway that definitely looks like it should be for employees only. Hell, maybe it is, but because you're being escorted it's ok this once. The basement seems to be much much bigger than the upstairs.

Eventually your guide finds a spot with some old boxes way up there. A ladder is needed. The box contains weird vent covers of several bird species. Great blue, great blue, great blue, they say, as if summoning it. It turns out your particular great blue heron vent cover was hiding in a nearby box of some extinct species of badger vent covers. These things have been sitting in that box possibly for decades. They are dust, and there are probably no pricetags. Barcodes? Forget it. Your professional will turn the vent cover over in their hands once, twice, three times, and suggest a price of $15.75.

By the time you get back to the counter you have spoken about your family, your children, your spouse, et cetera. It may have taken 20 minutes, and you do quick mental math and realize that at this rate, finkles is not so much a commercial enterprise as it is a cultural library/museum/communal hub.

I live finkles. Don't you ever change!

Excellent service with a massive inventory makes Finkles the only hardware store you ever need to visit. Don't waste your time and money at the big box chains. Do it right the first time when you shop here.

The folks here helped me out in a pinch and had everything I needed. They even held the door for me is a I rushed in just before they closed and made sure I got everything I needed. I would have been waiting in line at a big box store and probably would have lost the crew finishing the job at my house without their help and knowledge.

Finkles Hardware is an example of what a hardware store should be. They have plumbing, electrical, and hardware parts that you will not find in a home center. I went there for a plumbing project, not only I found all what I needed but they made a suggestion to help me complete my project with less parts when then could have sold me those parts.Thank you Finkles Hardware!

If they don't have it, no one does, at least that is how it feels. Always a great place to shop for hardware. Lines can be long, so you may need to take a number. Prices are fair.
