I came to town for a day trip and my car started making a weird noise. I stopped here without an appointment, and they took my car in anyway! I ended up needing a repair urgently that could have had me losing a wheel if I'd driven it home. They are repairing it now and I'm very happy they are helping me. I can tell they care about me and getting me in the road safe. They were also very kind to my dog and let us both wait in the waiting room to get lodging and insurance arrangements sorted out. Thank you guys.

Scott and his team were awesome! They quickly diagnosed the no-start problem with my Nissan truck and fixed the problem the same day without scheduling. Prices and quality are both very good.

Scott runs a great shop. For years my family has been going here and we have only had good experiences. I recommend this shop if you have any automotive needs, he is an excellent mechanic and a very honest person.

Took my car in for a diagnostic and called me back within a hour and was clear what the issue was and how much it would cost. Got car back 3 hours later and its running great. Super nice guys, clear with communication, willing to work with your schedule, and fairly priced. Highly recommend

I scheduled a general inspection for 4/6/2022 to make sure my truck would be road-ready for some upcoming driving.

I had brought my truck here previously on 9/2021 for an oil change.

The employee informed me that at that time they would have done a full inspection and that it may not be necessary for me to spend the money to do it again.

He checked how many miles I had left before I needed an oil change, and how many months before I needed an oil change.

He said it was not necessary for me to do the inspection unless I wanted to, but it would save me $80 to wait until my truck needed an oil change.

I think this shop cares more about return business than it does a short-term money-making scheme that tries to get people to pay for unnecessary work.

I will continue to bring my truck here as long as I live in Arcata.

I recently moved to Arcata from a larger city. It was a long trip, and I wanted to get an oil change. It is difficult to find a new auto shop when moving to a new city, and it is more difficult in a small isolated city like Arcata. I called several shops and was having a difficult time. I called this shop, and I was able to be seen after checking back every few days for an opening. I was able to leave my truck overnight and picked it up the next day.

The oil change was a standard oil change and the shop did not try to have me do any unnecessary or fake work. It was professional and a good experience.

I would bring my truck back here for more work.

We were visiting in town and developed mechanical issues. Neely was busy, and could not see us that day, but spent some time with to help us diagnose the issue and recommended a nearby business to get us on our way.
We gladly bought him lunch and a beer for that.

Stopped by while traveling, thinking I had to get a new water pump, prepared to spend the money to get it fixed. The supervisor / owner took a look at it, said the water pump was fine. Showed me a minor problem with an oil leak. Spent time explaining a few other issues with the car. Super helpful, friendly, reassuring, transparent and honest. Wouldn't accept any payment for his time and efforts. They didn't do any work, but got my recommendation just for being so helpful and friendly.

Scott and his crew have done great work on both my vehicle and my husband's. They made sure I knew what was going on and I haven't had any further trouble with what they have done. I trust Scott and his crew, and highly recommend them for their great work.

Scott was clear in his communication and worked with my schedule and needs to drop off car and have it worked on. The prices were fair and the work quality. I will return to Neeley Automotive when i need auto work done!. Good place

Neely's has been the best to me. I can call with any questions, they are super friendly, and quick to get things done. More than fair. I couldn't be more satisfied. It feels good to be able to trust someone, especially a mechanic!

If you have ever had to get repairs in Humboldt you know it very hard to find a good mechanic. I have had problems with every mechanic I have been to here until I went to Neely's. They go above and beyond for a fair price. Their work and ethics is the Gold Standard in Humboldt for mechanics. I will never take my vehicles to anyone else again. Highly recommended.

Awesome mechanics, i dropped my car off after they closed, they had it running by 3PM the next day, this was all during the holiday season, while HSU is getting out, every other mechanic was packed but they got me on the road very quickly! To top it all off i had no ride to pickup my car and was ready to take the bus, but instead they picked me up and drove me to the shop.

Good solid price on the work and part, both are warrantied, no bullshit story's about some crazy crap going on, it was all smooth and proper. they took care of what needed to be done and only what needed to be done.

Will recommend to friends and goto during my days in Arcata, Always.

I had a stuck window and went to them right at closing - they tried to get to the motor, that wouldn't work so Scott went and figured out the wiring and jumped it up. Know how much it cost? A request to come in for my next oil change. Most spots I know would have charged at least a half-hour's worth of labor. Thanks again and I'll be in for an oil change very soon!

My second time visiting this place. Hands down the best to get upfront information on repairs for your vehicle. Fair price and quick work. Scott knows his stuff.

This place is honest and upstanding. They are very honest, fair priced and really great people. I live in Arcata and have a 2004 Silverado. If you want an honest mechanic... This is the place to go in Humboldt! Best shop around.

Broke down in arcata brought our car to Neely's Scott was polite and to the point had us up and running the next day so we could make it home to crescent City he gave us a full diagnosis of the vehicle and said he could fix it but he recommended trading my step daughter car in for a more price friendly vehicle that is easier to work on and the parts are super expensive and she's a student I recomend Neely's based on Scott being a honest up front person it's hard to find that these days

I had my tail light go out right before a roadtrip. Scott helped me quickly for a fair price. Great place.

I went in with some overheating issues that I knew was a simple fix and they were fair and honest when they told me it was a simple fix and didn’t charge me to much I’ll definitely go back to them they fixed it up right, might be a tiny bit more expensive than other places but worth it.
