Motel 6 Arcata, CA – Cal Poly Humboldt

While the hotel itself is as basic as it gets, the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff were exceptional. Not to mention the fact that we paid (for 2 nights) what one night in another hotel would have cost. We felt safe and comfortable and will stay there again when we next return to Humboldt County!

We recently stayed here for 2 months while waiting to get our new place. The owner, front desk and housekeepers were all very friendly. They always made sure we were taken care of. The room was very nice and clean. We thank them for making our long stay a very nice one.

The Owner/Manager is involved is every aspect of the Hotel Management [Often times he is seen surveying the property Morning, Afternoon and Night] and it is so very evident in the upkeep and appearance of this Motel 6...The cleanliness, the modern upgrades, the potted flowers all adds to the appeal located here on "Hotel Row" in Arcata even with Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, Best Western, Super 8 all in the surrounding area.

From the friendly Front Desk staff to the attentive House Keeping Team, it has been a pleasure to stay here.
But mostly, I write this review for the rates which are consistently the lowest. When other Hotels/Motels are increasing rates daily based on occupancy This Management keeps it consistently the lowest even with minor rate increases it would still be the lowest rates in the area by far-Just so fair and honest.
Unfortunately, my stay has been extended as I await apartment availability. Even in the busy summer months & Cal Poly Humboldt classes resuming soon the Owner has offered me quite a low discounted rate. I could not be more grateful.
It truly is the "Ritz-Carlton" of Motel 6s Nationwide.

My family and I visited for the Humboldt graduation and needed a place to sleep. we didn't want to stay in a motel because we were afraid it was going to be surrounded by homeless and solicitors, but this Motel 6 was reasonable in price. When we pulled up, the young lady attending was super nice. Very polite. I wish I could remember her name. There were no homeless around and no solicitors. The room was extremely clean, and it smelled nice. We stayed in room 240. We did have some very loud neighbors, but we disregarded the noise. The only bad thing was that we did not get our room cleaned while we stayed, but it wasn't a problem. The location of the motel is a very sketchy place, but again everything worked out just fine! We will definitely stay here again if we decide to drive another 12 hrs to visit.

Had some great nights of sleep here after long days of exploring the town and made the trip to Oregon and back in one day from here all in all glad I stayed here and enjoyed the visit very much

Clean, comfortable and pleasant staff. I was there for about 8 hours total, so I didn't do anything but sleep and shower.

Newly and nicely renovated rooms. It’s nice and quiet. No bugs of any kind! Room smelled very clean. Shower was roomy. Definitely one of the better Motel 6’s I’ve visited!

Motel was clean, and the service was accommodating. I did ask for towels and told them not to clean the room one day. I said just to place extra towels on the bed. I came back in the evening and that had not been done... Other than that my experience was great.

This is the best motel 6 I've ever stayed at. I wish I could live there, it's perfect. Awesome people work there. 👏
And I've never seen one bug in the room. You can't say that for the other motels in Humboldt.

I have stayed here a couple times. This time was great as the other times. I had my two year old and two dogs with me the owner Moneesh(probably spelling it wrong) was helpful gave me ideas for places to take my baby and places to eat. I was checking my tires after our 3 hours drive there he made sure everything was okay. Nice dog area. Hotel was clean and housekeepers were nice got what I needed each time even went the extra mile to give me a small toll or trash bag my daughter is in diapers very helpful for the smell. Couple miles to most things across the street is food and dollar store. 10/10 recommend

My stay here was better than I expected. It was very comforting to have the option of getting a room by just walking in when the person at the front desk was very professional. The person at the front desk was very polite, believe his name was Julio. He walked me through the options that the motel had to offer and made sure that I was taken care of during my stay. The management has been a lot better from what I have previously experienced at the hotel. My room was clean as well and the housekeepers and the rest of the staff were very polite and inviting. I will definitely be a returning customer at this establishment.

The motel manager of this motel is not very friendly or helpful. I reported the cleanliness of our room as we were checking out. Asked to speak to the manager and he wasn't currently on sight. Left my information for him to contact me back and never got that call back.
I had rented here several times prior without any issues until this specific time. Since I was never contacted back, I instead called Motel 6 customer service to report the information and condition of our room on that last visit. I eventually reserved another nights room online about a month later. During the check inn process I found that I was on the DNR list
"DO NOT RENT" list. I asked why that would be? The Motel manager told me that it was for making false reports/accusations. I have proof of my report to Motel 6.
The reasons for my report to Motel 6 are as follows.
The Bathroom was not cleaned prior to us checking in. The shower had not been cleaned. There was debris of sorts on the ground. There was a paper bag behind door full of Used maxi pads opened on full display for us to see all the unsanitary to a rented motel room. Then to follow that up on the comforter was a blood stain that was obviously fresh.
I believe that I should not have been exhiled from renting for making a 100% accurate report of the disgust of that room.

This place was very clean and well kept- which is important because of covid 19. The front desk would call every morning as a courtesy call asking if we needed anything or the room cleaned. The staff were very nice and helpful.

After we left my friend realized he had left his travel money in the room. It was hundreds of dollars so it meant a lot. The next morning he went back to the room. He and the staff found all of his money still there. We are very happy to know that such honest and kind people work there.

The rooms are always clean and the staff are very friendly. It’s in a great location, there’s lots of restaurants around and a supermarket right across the street.

We liked how the rooms had been remodeled. No more carpet on the floors felt cleaner. Our room provided just what we needed for our two night say. We had a ground floor end room that was extremely quiet. The location was accessible to a coffee kiosk, gas station, fast food and a super market strip mall. Good job Motel 6!

The first room we were assigned smelled like smokers had been in the room, but the desk manager quickly moved us into a different room. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. Value for cost is quite good. We would stay again.

My stay at the Motel 6 went well. The first room we were assigned was very smokey despite it being clearly labeled as non smoking. When I went to the front desk to request a new room they apologized and we're quick to assigned me a new one. The new room was clean and very nice. The room looked as if it had been newly remodeled and was very stylish. My stay there went very well.

This place is very nice, really clean! The girl that runs the front desk is very nice and professional, I believe she is the manager, wish I remembered her name. Came here because everything in Eureka was booked, got a really good rate and she was flexible on the checkout time. Will definitely return, and there's a really good 24 hour restaurant on the other side of the freeway with killer late night food, got to check it out!! For those midnight cravings, or 2:00, 3:00, 4:00........

No problems whatsoever with my stay. We got there well after midnight, checked in no problem, the room was adequately stocked in towels and TV channels for relaxing. No tiny shampoos or soaps but conveniently located to a store to get them. They even ended up giving a lower price than they'd said originally over the phone.
